I will forever watch these creeper world videos because they are such good background noise that I can glance at and get the serotonin from seeing you progressing through the stage.
Yeah! Great vibes
I think you've realized this before, but terrain height differentials negatively impact the range of the power generating towers. The auto-placement from click and drag accounts for this, but it means the grid can't survive across rough terrain
that is not true?
@@TheM8 Can easily test it yourself. Make a map where where there are two stretches of land side by side, one flat and one with mountains and valleys. Use the auto-placement feature of dragging and either one and you'll see by the end they won't match up
That's how I got into watching Wanderbot, him playing Creeper World talking about the importance of The Grid. The Grid is All, The Grid provides!
Prayse the grid!
Dampers prevent creeper movement. Useful for establishing a beachhead
Love these Creeper world vids. Always a "Wanderbots Internal Monologue Podcast" which is always entertaining.
Talk about Brad at the end there kinda was like a crossover event for me. Yes Brad still makes content, as good as ever.
Look at Vampire Survivor, and it's genre creation. Lots of other games came and went as a kind of cash grab (What if you were a wizard? What if the enemies were zombies?); but some games have stuck out and done well for themselves (Death Must Die, for instance). I think you have some games that burst onto the scene with a new idea and define a genre, you have a horde of cash grab clones, and then you have something that iterates on the genre. You still see it.
~Deficits are expected. Explosions are beautiful!~ Wanderbot, 2024
Praise the Grid!
There's a button for Top View in the corner of the mini map if you forget what the keybind is.
Also, Big Yellow Taxi from Counting Crows... they paved paradise and put up a parking lot.
Every once in a while Wander gets rather existential and almost nihilistic.
It was just one of those days. Would've been worse today since I'm super bummed about the Tango Gameworks/Arkane shutdown.
No way, CW4 in 2024? Colour me happy!
There's a tactic you may have used before but not recently: suicide sprayer on void breeder. It's useful for claiming the beach-head on the edge breeder.
The damper supresses creep and anti-creep movement.
Discovered your channel through your creeper world videos, love this game with a passion
But tbh, came for the gameplay, stayed for the podcast, keep up the rambling ❤
Love watching you play Creeper World 4! I wish it would go on sale more frequently, then I'd play it myself.
Love the podcast format :D
Also top view camera is in the bottom right next to the mini map :)
Would you consider revisiting The Void Rains Upon Her Heart some day? It's come such a long way since last you played.

I think what you were trying to say was:
ROCK AND STONE, BROTHER!
In all seriousness, there is no game that can create such a connection between players in the same way as Deep Rock Galactic.
Why, you ask? It's simple:
Because, ROCK AND STONE!
THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN HOPING FOR, just waking up and seeing a wanderbot creeper world video, it will always make my day
46:30 Honestly, I haven’t watched your series, but I’ve seen quite a few of your videos. It wasn’t too difficult to pick up on what to do. I have an excellent idea of what to do and what is going on without too much explanation.
creeper world upload!!! always makes me happy
I think there's nothing wrong with the old classics, and Wander has the right idea with mixing the old and the new. Coming back to older titles once you tried some newer once really showcase how much the original stuck with you, which I think is pretty beautiful in its own rights.
I also think Wanderbots _definitively_ undersells himself by not fully embracing the kingmaker title. There may not be a single absolute kingmaker _per say_ in the UA-cam sphere, especially with the amount of "game critics" popping off left and right (and sometimes disappearing just as fast); but I'm pretty sure that for Wander's audience, there is a significant share of games he plays that I wouldn't even have thought of checking out myself. And on that significant share, a non-negligible percentage would be willing to buy the game or play it for themselves. This is something I only need to extrapolate my own experience, since that's what happened to me on occasion after watching some gameplay footage from him.
In the interest of keeping a long comment somewhat short, I'll end with only this footnote: I'd absolutely listen to a Wanderbots podcast.
If you love mortars, I think you'd love the planes! Bombing but with way more range
Hey wander! I’m sure you already knew this, but there’s a setting for when you move your weapons that keeps them in a line rather than grouping them. I know how you feel about your lines haha. I believe it’s G.
Re: Memes
I still post about #Caturday.
Im old tho. lol
The Anti-Creep Queen is displeased at your lack of anti-creep production in the early stages. Though Creeper World content is always appreciated.
Regarding books like Lord of the Rings, I think it depends on what aspect you're talking about. There's actually quite a few Epic Fantasy series. If you want the simple wonder and dread that you get from LotR, then Harry Potter or Wheel of Time kinda fill that role. If you want something more complex and grittier then there's Steven Erickson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series, or Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere books(I like the Stormlight Archive series and the Mistborn series).
There's even LitRPG that puts you into a world with RPG-like rules. My favourite is He Who Fights With Monsters, which is VERY well named. Or Life Reset.
1:12:30 camaraderie perhaps? But even as a person who doesn't own Elden Ring but was watching people play it there was something special about the feeling of being a part of the global attention span so to speak
I don’t think there is a definitive answer on which is better between rain and the singularity-conversion combo. I think it all depends on the situation. Rain seems to work best when more creep just keeps flowing in. The more the merrier. The combo works well in any situation, but is more expensive, requires a bit of skill with timing, and feels less effective when surrounded by high levels of creep.
I recently got Creeper World, thank you for introducing me to it! I always place my grid using the top down view.
btw, is there a way to force a stretched placement to be linear? like, when making a line of towers for the grid, making it extend perfectly straight instead of having to keep the mouse steady?
also, is there ever a reason to NOT have anti-creep sprays always on?
Hold control, it'll force your placement to be linear.
I always leave AC on so I can flood the map, but I could see not doing so if you want to use sprayers in a direct, offensive manner.
"You must construct additional pylons!" Would help a fair bit once youve built more infrastructure to make building things faster
I haven't played 4 yet but I had lots of fun with the original and 3. Does 4 have a big bertha cannon?
WooHoo our podcast is back!
Can you try using the titan weapons like the airship and the bertha? I think you would like them. Probably not as much as mortar spam :)
I could've swore there was creeper world plot spread between at least two creeper world games. Unless the game where you got a bunch of spaceships that your corporation (or whatever) had to license was a different series...
no it's the same universe, just a spinoff
about the question if singularity+conversion or rain is better, i can give you a clear answer if you are still interested.
singularity+conversion costs as much as 3 rain uses yet has only a very limited usefulness.
rain clears deep creep reliably though not exactly perfectly and last longer than singularity, while the other combo is great at securing those C/AC multiplier areas, if you also build an beachhead there while the AC is still dealing with the surrounding creeper, but sucks keeping an area clean by itself.
so in short, rain is overall much more useful in most situations and cheaper but kinda sucks at the niche situation the singularity+conversion combo excels at.
so yeah, go for rain!
Although, if you encounter extremely deep creep, Singularity+Conversion is better since rain only deletes 100 layers of creep per shot
@@jmatt440 true, but there are few maps were that makes any significant difference.
like the wave, which has a stupidly high block of creeper on one end of the map and a great starting position on the other side.
on normal maps the creeper rarely gets anywhere near that high except on small isolated islands.
the game is rely easy as long as you dont actuly dot do chalenges like using only x amount of canons/mortars somthing i like to do is have extremly litle so i have to move the hole base all the time so trying to get close to the spawners take it out and go slowly to the next one
1:21:00 Not to get too political, but we've all heard the saying "anyone can make it big" in regards to capitalism, yet that idea has an obvious implication: "but not everyone can."
Why are you not playing the mods for this game
Periodic happiness has arrived 😁

I’m unable to play this game without hitting F9 anymore.
Not the best looking way of playing, but then again I don’t record my games.
it bugs me so much that u don't use more Mrifts and pilons
I think you are seeing the video game attention span from the youtuber point of view. I can only watch a game for a week but can play that same game for months.
With content, telling an actual story matter. Post- Lords of the Rings, Game of Thrones looked to be able to generate that. Until it fell flat on its face. AI and algorithmically driven content are basically automatic plagiarism, with no meaning; no story. People come for the flash, and stay for the heart/meat.
I swear every map looks the same lol
too many morters

I think that its more of you falling out of sync with the new trends than otherway around. As we get older we get more focused on our past and we tend to cling on to our experiences making us unable to like new things or even alianate from present.
