@@Idonotcare2024 Hello Sup😊. Thank you. That was very tiring, lots of walking but we enjoyed it so much. It was just like back in the Philippines. Have a wonderful week!
@@thandastones888 in the 1980s the tributaries were all different than what you see today. We used to pull mussels from there, too, until we realized they weren't very healthy. They might be healthy again and easy for you to pull right from the mud.
Nice catch, glad to see the crabs are still plentiful there. We used to live there in the 80s, I was a young boy who during the summer road my bike with my bucket and pole to the inlet fishing and crabbing every day if I could. I live in Texas now and the bays and inlets look the same but the crabs and fish are more abundant. Those yellow croakers my wife loves to eat, I fill up a 120 qt cooler full of them. They dry and fry them up, which is tastey. The crabs only have to be 5 inches and unlimited take. There are tons of shrimp along the grass too, you, can keep 15 lbs per person during shrimping season. When they run we go to Lousiana and it is 100 lbs per car. At our spot we catch all species, crabs, plus we park next to the water and you can do overnight for free all along the bay and coast. Too bad I cannot get my wife to go out anymore, her sking does not do well in the sun. So nice to see the two of you out together fishing, good memories.
@@rammone5241 Thank you🥰! Wow! You’ve had such great memories. Reminds me of a Bruce Springsteen song. That would have been spectacular on film. We still catch blues around these parts, but just like you said, not as much as you used too. But yes, great Jersey memories. Have a wonderful week😊.
@@slingshotcrabbing Sooo tired on this trip. Lots of walking and our pants getting wet made it heavier to walk. But getting those crabs when you don’t expect them to be there was really fun. They were all fat too😊.
Hello guys! Love you watching crabbing and fishing in NJ. May I know what permit/badges needed to go crabbing and fishing in NJ and where to obtain it? Thanks and God bless!
You need a free saltwater fishing registration, there’s like 2 crab licenses, ones recreational , one allows for use of bigger traps they cost like $10 total, then for freshwater fishing there’s like 1-2 licenses , ones general then there’s one that’s a trout license . These need to be updated annually, total is like $40-50. You can do it online now or like dicks sporting goods and I think even Walmart but dicks has like no wait time. Some towns that have piers, etc might have like a $20 recreational badge or something like that to utilize certain areas . Generally tho after lifeguards go away in the summer you can surf fish anywhere for free and after Labor Day you don’t need any badges for surf fishing
@@mikesalada9859 I just looked at the licenses on my phone - fishing annual - $22.50, trout (optional) $10.50, crab pot non commercial $2, shellfish recreational $10, then the free saltwater fishing registry on the state website . I update them annually, it’s been years since I caught a trout so I probably don’t need that one. So like $35 if you don’t do trout . I’ve only ever seen a cop type person at county parks / property and they’ve never asked for licenses but they were definately scouting around probably looking to see if you had too many traps out or were leaving trash etc then maybe they’d bust your balls and also give you other tickets. I saw one at a county area just yesterday when I was out crabbing with my 3 kids and attempting to fish
