Said it before and I'll say it again, Predator 2 is awesome. Its always been my 2nd favorite in the series and my love for it only gets bigger. Does it have flaws? Sure, but it also respected what came before in the original, expanded on the lore and weapons of the Predator just enough, we saw a lot more of the Predator, Kevin Peter Hall (RIP) played City Hunter differently from Jungle Hunter to give him his own distinction, great cast, very well done action scenes, awesome setting having it take place in the city, cool take having it be a detective story, etc. It wasn't just a retread of the original and expanded on and or changed on the important aspects to make it just that. Director Stephen Hopkins (The Life & Death Of Peter Sellers, The Ghost & The Darkness, Judgment Night) did a very solid job with it, especially when you take into account he had to work on Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (during a writer's strike mind you and had an incredibly finite time to make it) and Predator 2 at the same time for a certain amount of time which is insane. While the original is still tops (for me personally) Predator 2 is awesome and is still the best sequel in the franchise.

It included the skull of the Xenomorph, the alien from ALIEN. The Predator and the Alien exist in the same universe. I do recommend ‘PredatorS’ 2010, an underappreciated gem!
I always loved this movie. It was very different from Predator, and Predator is one of the best sci-fi action movies ever made imo, but P2 added a lot of lore. I consider P2 to be a classic. Massively underrated. Some of these scenes are really good, like the meat freezer encounter: I love that. Or King Willie's scene: f#cking awesome. And that last scene where the Lost Tribe predators are revealed was such a cool twist back then. As a kid, I'd rewind the tape and play it in slow motion, just to get a better look at each individual predator. I still have the Neca figurines in a box somewhere. In terms of ranking, it goes like this: #1 Predator (1987) (masterpiece) #2 Predator 2 (great sequel) #3 Prey (surprisingly decent) #4 Predators (solid addition to the franchise) #5 Alien vs Predator (fun popcorn flick) #6 Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (aweful movie, but the elite Wolf Predator was kinda badass) #7 The Predator (I hated this one)
I love P2, but it's not better than the original. If you really want to get a better appreciation of Predator, watch Collective Learning's analyses. "PREDATOR spot the subliminals - Dillon's death scene", for example.
@@XaeeD maybe I should watch the first movie again. I don’t see much substance in the og than I do in the Predator 2, and I like Predator a lot. For me, the majority of Predator is all standard 80s action movie- tough guy excitement with cool one liners and jokes. It’s still a good action movie. Predator 2 carries itself with more great moments, grounded characters who don’t feel invincible like the characters in the first movie. These characters don’t try to outdo each other to see who’s the most toughest and baddest. It also expands more of the Predator mythology and universe, especially at the end. I think the biggest complaint is coming from people who haven’t even watched the second movie. There’s no Arnold. I hate that that’s the only thing that’s wrong with the movie for them and it’s been called one of the worst sequels, again that’s coming from people who had expectations that weren’t met. I will check out the video for P1 that you’re recommending me. I want to see what I may have missed!

The bracers the predators used are common among most of that species, other than that their weapons are almost as unique as the individuals are.
