There are few moments that leave you truly speachless, but 6:00 of this Video is definitely one of those. No hint of any strain, just a pure, piano c, that is truly incredible
Just the other day, I was thinking about how would the horns sound like in the Lord of the Rings. And now I get it. Howard Shore is the only composer who could make me tremble for fear. And that`s one of the reason I dare not watch the Lord of the Rings alone. LOL~ Great job, Marc. Your playing is always so amazing, full of surprises.
What I really like of your videos is that you put the sheets of the whole orchestra. For a learning composer like me, it is absolutely helpful to see how all works!
Marc, great playing, once again. The highlight for me, and it completely surprised me, was the BEAUTIFUL blend of the Horn and Trumpet starting at the 6:20 mark. With this, you are able to take what was an emotional moment from the original score with the vocal soloist and the soft choir, and make it into something different, something beautiful in a unique way. Absolutely amazing, good, sir! The range you chose for the Horn and Trumpet was in the brilliant mode, but to play a soft dynamic (p) in the mid-high register on trumpet is not an easy task, but you played it well. I appreciate all of your work, sir.
I think it is quite remarkable what you can do with only half notes and full notes. Creates big moments with a lot of action and excitement, but also very well presented at the end, really sad moments. Very good performance. Love the theme in the middle as well, big and powerful and perfect for french horns. Great performance!
You should make some videos explaining how to play as well as you do. I know as a horn player, I'd love to be able to hit those high notes as cleanly as you do in the quiet part.
Darn that was epic! Brass blasts and half step chromatic clusters make the epic sound of Khazad dum ... The subtle fire are percussion leading tone and choir ( TTBB ) parts '' Urukhas tanakhi , urus ni buzra . '' with a lot mongolian laryngal singers ! That was epic . ! ( 6 Horns / 5 Tuben , 4 Trumpets in B- flat , C , D and F ( one is doubling B - flat Piccolo Trumpet !) 3 Tenor Trombones and Bass Trombone and 2 Tubas Bass ! )
I'm always curious about what the choir parts mean so I thought it'd be a cool thing to add :) I've done it for a few other videos like The Lion King !
Yeaah! Epic choice of piece which I love hearing your skilled performance of since it inspires me as guitarist who plays themes/scores so experiencing your heroic sound and style is so nice!
*Did anyone else notice a very similar line from the Captain America: Civil War airport fight at **0:41** ?* I know it's a really small thing to notice, but the notes stood out to me after having not seen that movie for 2 years.
Me sees that the video is not ending at the "Fly, you fools" part. I know that the "sad" part is coming, which is ridiculously high pitch, yet delicate. "No way. Marc is gonna do it?? Huh. Yup. He did it again". For Gimli´s beard, how can you hit those notes!?
How do you get such clear articulations? As a new horn player all my articulations sound fuzzy and not very clean. You sound amazing, love your content!
Notes at the first entrance (Con forza) should be slurred. If you go back and listed to the soundtrack they are not articulated like you are doing (your attacks are almost marcato). Otherwise nice arrangement!
You're absolutely right ! For some reason I always thought those notes were played with that kind of attack and so I naturally played them that way when I recorded the piece, I only noticed it when the video was already finished ^^
@@Marc_Papeghin Congratulations then, you've done a pretty bang on job! I won't lie though, I got excited for a second that you actually got your hands on a copy of the score. It's notoriously hard to get sheet music for LoTR music if you aren't a big-name symphony orchestra
@@TheodoreBrown314 Wish I had it too ! But yeah, LoTR full scores definitely aren't easy to find ^^ And thanks ! Did my best to transcribe that one :)

They are great movies. You should.
They are the greatest movies ever made. Make sure to watch the Extended versions!
This is one of my favorite lord of the rings scenes.
5:23 "Wait, don't I get an opportunity attack?" the Balrog says to the DM.
Hahaha
Beautiful, man. Well done.
We JUST watched this again and are halfway through Two Towers, so cool timing with this.

Very glad you like it 🙂

That entrance on the high C... *chef's kiss*
Well done. The choir at the end is something special
4:07 That moment there is my favorite musical moment of the entire series. The panning over the abyss with the rising brass.
Darn that was epic!

Great performance friend!! I love this soundtrack of Howard shore 🎶 congratulations for this new video Marc, you’re the best
THANK YOU FOR THIS.
One of my favorite movie, and by far the scene and track of the movie.
Good job.👍
This has surpassed your cover of "The Asteroid Field" as my favorite production of yours. Bravo, again!
Maybe the most epic track of LOTR, excellent take on it Marc
The legend returns! Time to practice horn
Hitting those notes with style & grace my dear lad

Bravo ! Ça donne de la force jusqu'aux vacances
magic one, thanks for sharing such epic moment for horn in movie scores.
'You shall not past!!!' Very nice!
Pass, not past.
Way to sneak in on that high C at the last section. Nicely done!!!
"Delicato" he says. Delicato he gets. Well done, sir. :))

awesome
His practice concert at home make him the favorite neighbor of the Shire.
The last part always gets me :(
The 1 dislike is the Balrog.
May I have your permission to place it on my next video theme dwarf video? Of course the Credits go together as well
Sure 🙂

How do you arrange the sheet music for these? Do you use the official scores as reference, or is it purely by ear?
I do use scores when I have them but it wasn't the case for this one so I did it all by ear :)
