The original trilogy changed a lot of stuff and was heavily criticised too The internet just wasn't what it was Rings of Power is supposed to.last 5 seasons As long as it keeps getting better it's okay
Man, imagine if Rings of Power had this quality. The Numenorean armour, the battles, the storytelling, it is just all so much better here and this is almost a century of a decade old. Edit: Sorry, wrote this as like 2am, meant century
4:50 "But the hearts of men, are easily corrupted" .... Lady Galadriel apparently forgot about the oath of feanor and the 3 kinslayings, when the honour and dignity of elves failed.
The discipline the elves have here, the craftsmanship of the armor and the flow of martial prowess among the elves is not even remotely replicated in the rings of power. Its just not even close, the elves in that show fight like the men do, but the elves in Peter Jackson's LOTR fight like alien species that mastered all forms of martial combat.
@Elmo914 Yeah the Army of the Last Alliance would have crushed Gothmogs legions that attacked Minas Tirith. The Elves had tens of thousands of men in this battle against Sauron compared to the tiny force that they sent to reinforce Theoden at Helms Deep. And this was basically Gondor in it's *prime* with the majority of it's units made up of elite troops of Numenorian blood. The equivalent of having Aragorns everywhere.
6:50 there are a lot of extremely talented actors that make their role indistinguishable from reality but then there are actors that somehow take it a step further
It's good someone compiled this extended version.. Serves as a good prologue when watching all the six movies starting with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and ending up with The LoTR RoTK..
So Sauron dint use his mace to smash his head but gave him a hand to stand up and then he just cut his fingers whit the broken sword but sauron he ony wanted to be friends 😭
In the initial storyboards of the film, Sauron made his way through the Elves to reach Gil-Galad the king, then grabbed him and burned him alive by the heat of Saurons hand. He intended the sane fate for Isildur.
fun fact in the books Isildur didnt beat sauron. It was Elendil and the Elf King Gil Galad who tag teamed to beat him. both dying in the process. Isildur just looted the body like a true dnd player. but cinematically this looks cooler
I remember watching this movie as a kid and everyone else passed out and I managed to stay up and watch the whole thing I was so into it, only movie that kept me up when I was just a little guy growing up will never forget it…good ole days
And let's not forget that those humans were Numenoreans...they were over 7 ft tall, and as strong as Captain America. Sauron still thrashed them around like toys.

This intro is a 1000 times more powerful than the entire Rings of Power series.
this intro is stupid. It wasnt like this in the book. but you guys wouldnt know. you just hate whatever
@@arthurlayao3465 aaaawh look at that, a 12-year-old that has a different opinion. Hush now, it's all gonna be ok.
The original trilogy changed a lot of stuff and was heavily criticised too
The internet just wasn't what it was
Rings of Power is supposed to.last 5 seasons
As long as it keeps getting better it's okay
@@Joe-ss9cr aww look a 40 year neck beard weeb crying over a tv show.
@@shippendales8543 That's the thing, it's not getting better at all. It started as Bezo's cash grab and it's continuing like that.
Man, imagine if Rings of Power had this quality. The Numenorean armour, the battles, the storytelling, it is just all so much better here and this is almost a century of a decade old.
Edit: Sorry, wrote this as like 2am, meant century
A quarter of a century. A decade is ten years. 😉
The whole story from Rings of power fit within 10 minutes, Perfect!
"But there were some who resisted...." Such a great line!
3:19. Notice the elves and men know they're probably gonna die, but they don't run. They face off Sauron and stand their ground.
Genuine courage.
Oh man. I’m losing yrs off my life binge watching everything Tolkien, now that I’ve found all this stuff on UA-cam. I’m fine with it.
4:50 "But the hearts of men, are easily corrupted" .... Lady Galadriel apparently forgot about the oath of feanor and the 3 kinslayings, when the honour and dignity of elves failed.
This was my comfort show during the day after college class when I had some Mexican Schwag
Love your avatar bro :)
This intro still gives me goosebumps!
Fellowship - One of the best movie openings ever.
As a kid, the Deagol vs Smeagol fight scene was pretty traumatic ngl
Straight up disturbing
It's traumatic toe at 43 now lol
This did a better job of explaining the second age in 10 minutes than Rings of Power has with billions of dollars and hours of content.
Neither are very accurate to the lore. They did elendil so dirty in this prologue. Also failed to explain Annatar or mention celebrimbor
@@Lotsofface This is a 10min prologue though. Relative to the time it’s a very good summary.
@@Lotsoffacefor the purpose of a film a adaptation it gives all the necessary info the audience would need.
LOL hell no 😂
Also let's be clear, it wasn't a few remnants against them 🤣 they were beseiging the place for 7 years when he finally came out.
I LOVE this series but the battle between Sauron, Elendil, and the Elven High King Gil Galad should have been greater.
Agreed. That was such an epic moment in the ending of the 2nd Age.
Meh, less is more
Cate blanchette really blows this narration out of the water, remarkable performance all around
Well made. If the LOTR had been made into a series instead of movies, this could have been the intro
It’s just so so good. I’ve never watched the extended editions, but I think the time has come.

This prologue alone is better than the sludge that’s called rings of power season 1 and 2.
Imagine creating Rings of Power and claim youre in the same universe.
Yeah, makes you wonder.
Yeah how good the tv series actually is.

6:50 there are a lot of extremely talented actors that make their role indistinguishable from reality but then there are actors that somehow take it a step further
I never get tired of watching Elrond stone cold having arrows fly by his head and barely flinch XD
It's good someone compiled this extended version.. Serves as a good prologue when watching all the six movies starting with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and ending up with The LoTR RoTK..
The fight between Deagol and Smeagol is probably the most brutal in the whole trilogy.
"Wisest, and fairest of all beings..." And vainest too apparently, since she's descrbing herself 🙂
Lol. She was kinda bias on that one.

Acheived more in 10 minutes than Amazons Rings show did with 2 whole seasons 🤣
Seriously
So Sauron dint use his mace to smash his head but gave him a hand to stand up and then he just cut his fingers whit the broken sword but sauron he ony wanted to be friends 😭
In the initial storyboards of the film, Sauron made his way through the Elves to reach Gil-Galad the king, then grabbed him and burned him alive by the heat of Saurons hand. He intended the sane fate for Isildur.
@@JohnWilson-zh3ilit would have been a great intro to show Sauron's real powers.
That’s the first time I remember seeing Isildur putting on the ring and disappearing! Thank you for showing that!
My guess is that Smiegel's soul was already on the edge, judging by how quickly he turned into a murderer.
Came for the prologue, left to watch the trilogy.
Im glad they didnt reveal Gollums true identity at the beginning
Ben was so ready for us that he uploaded the video 10 years ago. What a legend.
fun fact in the books Isildur didnt beat sauron. It was Elendil and the Elf King Gil Galad who tag teamed to beat him. both dying in the process. Isildur just looted the body like a true dnd player. but cinematically this looks cooler
I remember watching this movie as a kid and everyone else passed out and I managed to stay up and watch the whole thing I was so into it, only movie that kept me up when I was just a little guy growing up will never forget it…good ole days
seeing the numenorians and elves of the last alliance gives me chills every time, rings of power turned them to a cheap game of thrones variant
cheap RPG cosplay variant :)
And let's not forget that those humans were Numenoreans...they were over 7 ft tall, and as strong as Captain America. Sauron still thrashed them around like toys.
