Another excellent episode...Thank you so much for sharing Tim! I am just wondering any particular thoughts that you decided to arrange the subject against the green garage door rather than the white wall? I love the color contrast of green, red and a little bit of blue. .... simply thinking to arrange the subject against the white wall can be more contrasty. Would love to be shared your thoughts of the composition behind this lovely photo. Cheers !
Thank you! I wanted to line up the lamppost inside the rectangle on the left and the man on the right in the space - that’s the composition from that location I liked the most :)
Wonderful video, mate! I think when you get a shot as in 0:30 in your warm up snaps, it's going to be a good one.
Again, I particularly enjoyed looking at the use of reflections and the infrastructure to structure the shot. It is fab to watch the build up and outcome, particualy the shot at 7:50 !

On a different note I noted how much we X shooters use that rear screen to pull out and angle. Be warned. Im now into my second ribbon cable failure. The flat electronic connection between camera and screen. The continual use of pulling screen in and out bends the ribbon cable at its tightest point until it splits then the screen doesn't work. A weak point in Fujifilm design. I need to send mine in AGAIN for repair so that will be £400 now spent fixing cheap bits of Ribbon Cable. Hope you don't experience it.
On a brighter note... im watching again.. 2nd time. 😂.

@@timjamiesonphotos I did a little more research on the ribbon failure issue and seems Americans are taking group action lawsuit against Fujifilm over the XPro3 Ribbon failure as that camera is marketed as Professional at a premium price where users should not expect to see failure of a simple part.
Lets hope they've improved things on the more recent models . 🤞
😮😮😮 that’s crazy! But I do agree, it’s awful that such a basic feature in such an expensive camera is not functioning as it should

Hi, thanks for the very helpful videos! I wanted to ask you, but on cloudy days how should you adjust, since there is no sun, there are no clear shadows, you cannot play between areas of shade and areas of sun, the colors are less bright. Thank you
Hey! My pleasure, glad you’re enjoying them. I’ll be putting out a ‘dull light’ tips video soon. But for me when it’s grey and flat I like to switch to black and white. I look for shapes, framing, textures, characters and moments instead where light doesn’t play a big role in the composition. It’s hard for sure but there are shots to be had when it’s a dull day :)
and a follow up, do you have a shot of the 7:50 motive but the camera orthogonal to the bars by any chance?
I’ve got a few shots from that but the one I shared in the video is my fav :)

Thanks a lot. That is a solid idea. I definitely want to find ways to build the community, as well as up engagement/subs etc, but always find it a bit awkward asking people to sub/like etc haha 😅

I’ve never tried the 23mm f2! That focal length is a bit wide for me, but I do want to try it soon and experiment a bit. The 35mm f2 lives on my camera pretty much all the time :)
regarding your intro (with the practice shots), how do you actually be 'in the mood' when you go out? i mean, the light in the video was rather rubbish :D how you avoid to say "f* it" after 20 mins and go to the pub?
Haha good question! I think being in a new place really helps with the inspiration, as you just want to go out and shoot regardless of the conditions. I also don’t mind overcast street photography and I’ll be making a video about that soon :). But yeah, sometimes I do just say stuff this and pack it in haha
