I agree, I can pick out a Josh photo and I love the look of them so much. Just treated myself to the last issue of Framelines which was a lovely read in the garden with a coffee
The most important aspect of photography for me is finding a style and a workflow that makes me want to keep going - the enjoyment seeing what new imagery I can create and add to my growing portfolio. I do use a ‘boring’ A7III with a totally not boring Voigtlander 40mm f1.2 but in some ways the choice of camera for me is secondary to the other points I’ve mentioned. As long as I can fit the camera into my workflow and it’s not too big and intrusive that’s what matters to me. I do like how photographers approach photography and gear differently to one another but we all have the same goal, to create great photographs.
I would love to see a video with an Olympus camera soon. They rarely get reviews/videos about them and I don't think I ever saw one from this channel either.
@@frame-lines You can join the "CCCD is God" crowd and get an E-400 or E-500...I had the Pen F digital and while it was gorgeous to look at I just couldn't bond with it. I like the Gucci shots most, so clean. I moved from Fuji to Leica and I have to say my favourite Fuji was the XPro1, it just had mojo. Thanks for taking me round London.
Thanks for the video. It’s great to see someone that knows what they are doing just starting to use the x-pro3. I just bought one a month ago and I am loving it. It seems that everyone that posted videos using/having an x-pro3 has moved on to Leica. You went the other way, so great to see your perspective. I also shoot Sony cameras and have an x-e4 which are all great but there is just something about the x-pro3 that feels different.
Glad to see you trying out the Fuji world for your photography. I’m a fellow X-Pro3 shooter, and it rapidly became my everyday carry camera. The ergonomics, image quality, form factor, and workflow were exactly what I have been searching for in a digital camera! Is there a plan to release Issue 5 as a digital download? I live a fairly nomadic lifestyle and have loved reading the previous issues on my iPad while I travel and won’t be home to read a physical copy for several months.
Something drew me to shooting photos in Oxford Circus as well when I visited. Unfortunately wasn’t as sunny as it was in this video lol but as you mentioned, the flow of people is just ideal. Loved it. Great vid!
I bought an XPro-3 two years ago, along with Fuji 35 f2, f1.4, and 23mm f2 lenses. Absolutely love it. The images, portability, etc. I thought I’d upgrade to a Leica Q2 but never did, the megapixels are enough and easy to work with.
Use the X-Pro 2 and really like it. If you want to experiment with different lenses, the 16mm f/2.8 is very compact and has another neat trick. With the 16mm mounted, normally giving a 24mm equivalent angle of view, and then set your camera to 1:1 square aspect ratio, the 16mm gives the same side-to-side coverage as the 23mm does when set for the normal rectangenal aspect ratio. So you can shoot square photos with a familiar coverage but with more vertical inclusion.
Nice to see you out doing photography just (mostly) for the joy of it. I love using the Xpro2 23f2 for street and travel. I also have the 55mm f2 for the few times I need more reach. As you say, there is something about the camera that makes me want to pick it up and take photos. If the Xpro4 has a few more megapixels, a bit better view finder. and a flip out screen, I might be tempted to upgrade.

nice touch from MPB to use "add to cart" rather than "add to basket" for the US market lol. Small little details that show a lot of thought process behind it.
Pretty sure X-Pro4 will happen. What would I change? Several things > - Give it the new processor and improved AF of the X-H2 - Give it the 40MP sensor from the X-H2 - Give it the 5.76M dot EVF of the X-H2, along with a bit larger, higher eyepoint optical viewfinder - Lose the X-Pro3 LCD screen and replace it with the flush flippy screen of the X100V - Add IBIS Done.
Preheat the oven!! 🤣 I was up in London in the last week or so, the light is just great there at the moment. Your images and GoPro bring back some nice (recent) memories. I am at the Stonehenge Summer Solstice next week, so no doubt it'll rain then...
I go back and forth between my Leica TL2 and the Xpro 3, love them both for different reasons. My favorite thing to do right now with the Xp3 is, depending if I'm using the Voigt 23mm 1.2 or the Fuji 27mm rwr, just hang the camera at my side with my arm down, camera in hand...and then just randomly fire the shutter. It makes it a nice mystery to see what I come up with when I get back home. The AF lens obviously makes it easier to just aim a direction with my wrist and hit the shutter, but the manual Voigt lens makes refocusing really fun and adds an extra challenge, as well.
Love your approach and hope you're wrong about the x-Pro 4...the 3 is out of production and can't be found in the states. I really would like that flip down screen, my 2 makes low view angles difficult to frame. Cheers!
Has Fuji added any lenses to their lineup that match the tradition of manual rangefinder lenses? The biggest thing holding me back from trying a Fuji rangefinder is the lack of lens options from Fuji with shirt manual focus throws (instead of the infinity focus rings all new lenses seem to have). Seems odd to me to make a rangefinder to compete with Leica but no lenses that that emulate the traditional rangefinder experience. 😢
Nice to see that you have joined the Fuji gang. My X-Pro3 is currently getting repaired, and I'm looking SO forward to getting it back. Would love to see you try out the XF18mm f2 and the XF27mm f2.8 (or even the 7Artisans 27mm), those are lenses I'm looking to get next 😉 My normal focal length is the 35mm f2 or f1.4.
I have to say , you have a great eye for framing ! My compliments. As we agreed upon in a prior video, the XPro 3 is great for Street Photography and is about the closest you can get to a Rangefinder camera without being a Rangefinder. As former Fuji shooter IMO the Xpro3 is an undervalued camera and i do hope Fuji will keep this model in their line up in the future. Anyways, very nice video, thanks for sharing !
That LCD screen really has to be changed on the next iteration. I always wanted an X-Pro but the 1 and 2 lack a few modern options and the 3 will see the LCD screen fail eventually.
I've been tempted with Fuji for years... Have my canon full frame for night photography. Was glad to hear you mention the Lumix GX80.. I've had mine since 2017, and paired with the Summilux 15mm 1.7 It's wonderful...

Upgraded my X-pro 2 for a X100v and already regret it...amazing camera just feels so much smaller in my hands. So do i trade for a X-pro 3 or wait and see if there's a 4 around the corner i wonder...
Agreed with the other commenter, for whatever reason it is, you could offload that x100v for enough money you could buy a like new xp3 and still have money for a lens.
honestly, if they re-released this camera with the new battery and that was the only change they made, I would buy it and never be left wanting. The old battery is the only small complaint I have with this camera. Other than that, I simply love it.
I just got an x pro 3 but really can’t gel with the colours of its images. Both JPEG’s and raw the colours seem really unnatural and way to drab if toned down or way to Gareish if you try to increase the saturation or exposure. It’s a shame because using the camera is a dream and really nice. But I’m thinking to sell it and a few other things to get a Leica m10
My first fuji was the X-Pro1 and the three primes that came out on launch but now I only have the X100V (I have other brands of cameras too but the X100v beats them all). It’s as near to perfect a camera could be.
You went to Fuji, I went to Leica Q3 from the XPro3 because they delayed a XPro4. Lost interest in the brand with their poor xsummit which delivered nothing of value. Fuji owners were wanting more and fuji under delivered.
Sorry to say this however I miss the editing quality that the restrictions of film imposes even though film has been hijacked by Leica M6 snobs. By all means shoot away digital. But please if you are shooting with a fujifilm Xpro3 and you comment about it's inherent capabilities in 2023, its all anathema. One could have taken the same photographs with any digital camera from the past 20 years.
I prefer my dull and extremely effective Sony. It's so dull that it completely disappears from my consciousness while I'm shooting, allowing me to focus my attention on what's happening on the street.
I’d be interested in the X-pro3 but the flip over screen makes it a non-starter for me. I’m too used to seeing an image of what I have just taken and being restricted to the EVF or flipping the LCD out every time would be a pain.
It always amazes me how people think that a nice camera of 4 years ago, suddenly can’t be good enough anymore. I guess it’s GAS 😊. However, having owned all three iterations of the X-Pro, there’s a few things I’d like to see changed in an X-Pro4 (if it were to come). The two main points are dual magnification in the OVF (please bring it back) and back LCD. Make it either fixed or tilted like the X100V and get rid of that subscreen. A minor point would be the ISO dial lock. Just copy the one from the X100V. That one is great. Other suggestions I often read on Fuji forums are the 40MP sensor and IBIS, but I don’t care for both in this type of camera. Don’t make it bigger and/or more power consuming and I generally love the ISO performance of the 26MP sensor over that of the 40MP sensor. One more thing. Many complain about Fuji’s AF, but my complaint is about their MF. Since a few years they have the linear MF setting, which helps a bit but behaves different with each lens (even in their f2-line). It would be great to specify also the degrees of rotation like with Panasonic and Leica L. It would make focus-by-wire a lot more useable.
What took you so long? LOL just kidding. Did you film make the best street cameras and fact they make a lot of really good cameras in general and the secret out is now that Fujifilm is such a good brand to be using for so many different types of Photography and it's not just because of the film simulations, either just the ergonomics and menu system of Fujifilms
Sony for street photography is the worst. Especially when all they do is take pictures at night with a 80mm wide open like cmon. Tbh, traveled and live across a few countries and only London Sony street photographers does this, it is insane
Sony is great for street! So is Fuji. In fact, they’re pretty much all great as long as the photographer gets to grips with the system and really knows how to use it.

honestly, if they re-released this camera with the new battery and that was the only change they made, I would buy it and never be left wanting. The old battery is the only small complaint I have with this camera. Other than that, I simply love it.
I've found the battery life to be pretty great if I leave the screen closed and only shoot with the OVF
@@frame-lines that's a great point. I really really love using the ovf with the little hybrid box in the corner. I think that is so genius.
The files are definitely tricky vs other brands but with a fair bit of practice I’ve got them looking ok
Nice video... 👍🏻
Thanks !
most of the cameras in last 15 years are pretty good for street photography in sunshine :)
Ha yes
IBIS would be helpful.
My first fuji was the X-Pro1 and the three primes that came out on launch but now I only have the X100V (I have other brands of cameras too but the X100v beats them all). It’s as near to perfect a camera could be.
Ha nice one
I would say in 2023 the XPro2 is better.
Belle foto . Sono un fotoamatore uso Fuji XH1 della X Pro 3 non mi piace lo schermo coperto , aspetto di vedere la XPro 4 👋👋.
Love the inconspicuous outfit!
It’s important to blend in
Yes I use fuji film for street. Fuji acros 100 FILM.
😎
Where's the squirrel?
Huh?
Like the one of the woman with the red hat.
Cheers John!
You went to Fuji, I went to Leica Q3 from the XPro3 because they delayed a XPro4. Lost interest in the brand with their poor xsummit which delivered nothing of value. Fuji owners were wanting more and fuji under delivered.
Depends if you think more megapixels is actually an improvement
@@frame-lines The image quality between the two cameras is hugely different.
sold my xpro3 and bought A7c, best decision of my life
Oh interesting, I much prefer the fuji
Glad it’s not a Leica video!! Go Fuji
Haha yes!
By all means, go out and take the same photos
@@frame-lines Ahh ok thanks! For permission! 😂 😉
I prefer my dull and extremely effective Sony. It's so dull that it completely disappears from my consciousness while I'm shooting, allowing me to focus my attention on what's happening on the street.
Ha excellent
I’d be interested in the X-pro3 but the flip over screen makes it a non-starter for me. I’m too used to seeing an image of what I have just taken and being restricted to the EVF or flipping the LCD out every time would be a pain.
ah fair enough, I prefer not to look at all and keep my head in the experience of shooting, then review the images at home
Is only me finding colors not really natural and contrasts pumped?
Sometimes you just have to pump the contrast
Where's Wally 😂
lol …!
Agreed I don’t want either of those - would defeat the point of the camera IMO
What took you so long? LOL just kidding. Did you film make the best street cameras and fact they make a lot of really good cameras in general and the secret out is now that Fujifilm is such a good brand to be using for so many different types of Photography and it's not just because of the film simulations, either just the ergonomics and menu system of Fujifilms
of course, a camera does not make a good picture, right? its what is between your ears. The rest is just gadgets.
Of course
Sony for street photography is the worst. Especially when all they do is take pictures at night with a 80mm wide open like cmon. Tbh, traveled and live across a few countries and only London Sony street photographers does this, it is insane
Sony is great for street! So is Fuji. In fact, they’re pretty much all great as long as the photographer gets to grips with the system and really knows how to use it.
😅
