In june 2014 I was 164, In december 2013 I was 190. In 2015 I went through depression, anxiety and stress overload. All the hardwork went out and now I am in 200. I've done it before but I have problems retaking the same pattern. The mentality one has affects your diet 100%.

This guy gives very diplomatic answers in many points (in contrast with Firas)... I guess when something is for FREE, some ppl are not keen to speak clearly about things ;)

I found this so helpful. I have been eating "better" but haven't had any changes. Lockhart's analogy with finance really help. I am in debt and I have to take a lot more seriously and I agree for a person like me a cheat day can undo all my work from the week. I am going to try to go 3 weeks without a cheat day and a more strict diet.

I like that analogy: "dieting is like finances" haha! And I like Firas' philosophy of train hard and get more cheat meals :)

Firas Zahabi ya habibe first off all thank you for all the free content. I have been training shotokan for 8 years and just started bjj and your videos have helped me alot. Your instructional videos are very well explained and if not one of the best I can find.
I just wanted to add my opinion/expierence about the vitamine b12 deficiency that was said. Personally I have met somebody who had a b12 deficiency who was eating meat at that stage (unhealthy food not clean foods) and this was cured by changing and eating a vegetarian diet.
I know vegans can have a vitamine b12 deficiency, but I believe this is because they eat junk food and not clean foods with all the vitamines.
If you eat clean organic meat you will probably still get vitamine b12. Most livestock (not organic) need a supplementation of b12 because the medication they get is destroying the bacteria in their intestine.
I am not bashing here an anyone that eats meat I had meat myself many years and I respect everybody choice. I just wanted to mention that after 3 years eating a vegan diet WITH cheat meals I have no signs off b12 deficiency and I workout 4-6 times a week.
Much love and peace love your videos!

How's the no b12 going now? Are you more than 3 years into it now? McDougal says you can go 3-5 years without b12, from using up stores in the liver.but after that you need it. Be interested to know ur experience? Tks

Love the analogy George uses about dieting and finances. He’s also so right for staying strict and cheating very rarely.
Cheating more and then paying your debts, and acting like you won’t get behind makes no sense though. You are using your finances to pay the debt, meaning you have less finances then people that stay true to the diet. You are fueling the Ferrari with crap food and then expecting to “pay the debt” and outwork what you would have done if you were fueled properly. Let me fuel the body with cheaper and less nutritious food and then expect it to go farther than I would have if I practiced proper nutrition and stuck to the diet. Saying you are going to “pay the debt” after those cheat days doesn’t make sense bc are you not pushing yourself to the max on every workout anyway. Are you only going the extra mile on your workouts after your cheat days?? True champions do everything on and off the field to perform to their max. Taking cheat days and acting like it won’t affect performance is illogical.

Brilliant, has helped me add key elements to my routine and working it into my lifestyle and work out programme, little things like honey and coffee before a workout and a protein shake with porridge in the morning so my body uses recovery as well as morning and evening cinnamon tea killing sugar cravings. All together has enabled me to streamline my nutrition

Protein also stimulates insulin. Glucagon is also involved in breaking down amino acids. Firas, in the first 5 minutes of this video Georges makes a lot of very basic errors in physiology. I'm sure he can help MMA fighters lose weight as macronutrient manipulation, ergogenic use, lipolytics have been discussed in magazines for decades. He might be an expert in MMA nutrition (whatever that is), but his advice has more holes than low glycemic swiss cheese.

Im realy greatfull for this video. Watching it for the third time to learn as much as possible. But i have a question: to have energy for my training, i should have some protein before to release glucagon. On the other hand, with a full stomach my body always needs part of my energy to digest. What is the right time to eat before Training and what are good proteins for this jobs? Vegan opportunities are welcome.

George said u gotta "unlock" certain energy that u have stored. I guess he was talking about ketones. I've heard u gotta addapt to it and your body allows you to get the power from fat (for example bacon or fat steak), not from carbs. So my question is, what is the best way to achieve it.
