- I wanted a rack that could sit above the Tonneau cover on my first generation Honda Ridgeline (2008). The main purpose is to hold my skis, but I could also but bikes, gear, anything. I came up with a custom solution that is very strong but also easily removable without tools and allows me to keep the Tonneau cover on the truck. Best part is that I didn't have to drill any holes in the truck.
OMG. Literally in FEB I was planning the same type thing for my ridgeline, after a season of boarding and having up to 9 boards shoved in my bed... Thank you for the video!
Awesome! Hope the build turns out well!
Great system and solution to the problem!
Thank you for sharing, much needed, thank I will try my hand at this project in the next few weeks for my own ridgeline
I prefer the older shape and unibody design. Wish this refresh was done on that platform
Yeah, big fan of the first gen.
Wow! Using the Gen 1 ridgeline at its finest!
Looks great. Ive been enjoying watching your videos. I have an 07 and just added a tonneau cover . Factory rack and running bars.
I was hoping for a full rack haha. This awesome though.
Thanks man!
Nice build!
Great video, was wondering why you used square pipe instead of round pipe?
You mad man!
Was wondering when you cut the webbing strap, did you melt the edge of it with a lighter to prevent it from fraying. This is a very interesting project. Thanks for sharing.
Hey, yes I did - it is important to melt the ends as you say - otherwise they will definitely fray.
what were you using to do the deburr? And what was the purpose of the spring?
Can u send a link for your kayak holders? Im looking for collapsible one
This is very similar to the ones I have. I spray painted mine black.
