- Installing the Van tech P3000 with the RevolverBak tonneau cover on a 2018 Honda ridgeline. I forgot to include the tonneau cover final installation step to show both of them working together. Someone already did it, so I figured it was not that important. I wanted to focus more on the P3000 installation. Hope it helps.

Excellent video answering all the questions i had looking at the mediocre instructions coming with the rack. Thanks a lot for going through the effort to make this instrumental video.
great video
Great video. Looks like you have a roll-up tonneau cover. Does it have plenty of clearance to get past the uprights? I had a Gen1 with Vantech racks and BakFlip cover and it was hard to get past the front upright. In this case i have a 2022 with aTruxedo roll-up cover.
Two questions:
What is the width of a tab that slides in the t-track?
I was thinking of getting this rack, but installing l-track channels (uscargocontrol) as the rails, and mounting them a little bit wider on the bed sides, maybe trying to make them more parallel. The l-tracks can come undrilled. This might fit my cover better (truxedo sentry ct).
I will check tomorrow
1"
Super helpful video and answers, thanks again! One more question, what is the width and length of the base (like where it slides on the rail) of a tower? Also what is the thickness of the base aluminum?
The foot of the towers is 8" long and 1 5/8" wide.
If you are talking of the thickness of the bottom track, it is 5/8" .
@@Tinoknow thank you again!!!!
Thanks for the video. Just got my P3000. Can it be installed first and then the BAK tonneau afterwards?
Yes. You might have to loosen the hardware a little to slide the tonneau cover’s track system.
Does the BAK Revolver mounting track sit UNDER the P3000 rail? or is the mounting track just up against the P3000 rail?
It’s up against
i have a backflip cover do i really need to remove it in order to install this track? once u make a hole in the plastic doesnt it allign the holes underneath so why remove the plastic just to drill to install the track? pls advise. thanks
The only thing I would be worried about leaving the plastic covers on would be drilling in to far and damage the thread under. Also, I drilled from the underside to lineup the hole and the plastic cap. It wasn't to bad to remove and reinstall the cover either. Good luck with the project
Do you have a video or can you make a video of finished installation of rack and tonneau cover thanks
I will try to when I can find time. I know that someone posted one video showing the setup working together. It's been a while and don't remember who did it. Let me know if you find it
Did you look into the Peragon cover before getting the one you show in this vid?
I believe I did, later after purchasing this one. They seemed to be very nice covers. My only concern with the peragon is, how do you open the cover if your truck bed is loaded. Panels drop down. Sometime, I like to open the cover to access something towards the front of the bed. Don't think you can do that with the peragon.
Great video. Sounds like you may be in Canada. If so do you mind sharing where you purchased the rack? I can't seem to find any dealers near me in Winnipeg.
Thanks. Is it the accent that gave it up? Lol. I’m from Quebec but have been in Florida for 23 years now. I bought it online. Look at Realtruck.com Or Vantech . Good luck
@@Tinoknow hah yeah I have family with the same accent. 👍 Thanks for the link I just happened to be looking at them after I messaged you. I might just go across the border to ND once things get back to normal.
great job - thanks. Still happy now that its been in place for a year?
Yes, no complaints. I put kayaks, ladders and lumbers on it without any issues.
At the lowest setting, is it above or below the roof? By how much?
It is slightly above the roofline. I have a RTT and I’m going to cut all four uprights down so it (the RTT) will be at the same level as the roof. The uprights will still have enough height to come back up to the roofline if I want to carry kayaks, lumber, etc.
Is there a template for drilling the holes in the plastic rail cover?
You use the track provided. The back part of the track towards the tailgate is secured by the screw. The front is slightly off away from the the truck bed. The holes in the plastic can be drill a little bigger to give the track some play room to find the factory holes. I went smaller than the instructions suggested for the holes but you can always use what they recommend
Noticed the bed cover, how did it fit with the p3000 rack?
Very good fit. The bed cover side tracks will limit the opening of the bed hatch door, but it will still be usable.
Hi. How are the track bolts fastened? Did you use a nut below the frame to secure it? Thanks!
Truck comes with factory threaded holes
So under the factory plastic rail cover, I should find factory threaded holes? If so, do you happen to know the how many there are? And what's the bolt size? I don't think I saw this part in your video. Thanks a bunch!
There are 4 holes on each side plus the smaller screw at the end toward the back. I don't remember the size though
Great info! Thanks a bunch!
did u reinstall the the tonneau cover first before you tightened the track so that the track is on top or is it just side by side?
I tightened the tonneau cover tracks first then the rack after. You can install the cover before tightening the rack rails or after. It's the interaction between the two track system that matter the most.
will this work w a back flip cover
Don't know
How much wind noise is there from the rack?
Nothing noticeable
Dude you need a tripod that way your not a one arm man 👨and I don’t have to call you a cripple
So right about that
