- In this video, I go through the steps to install the North Mountain soft/rollup Tonneau Cover. This should fit the 2nd Generation Honda Ridgeline, but please verify the part number for your year and trim.
Minimal tools are required and the process is pretty straightforward. There are some adjustments to be made, so make sure the brackets are snug, but not tight so that you can adjust. Tighten after adjustment.
Tools required:
Torx 30 bit
driver or ratchet for Torx bit
Phillips Screwdriver - Авто та транспорт
Thank you for the video! It only took me about an hour to install the cover after watching your video. The only thing I did different is that I put the extra weather stripping that came with it on the front edge of the bed. Then I put the cover on top of the strip.
Excellent video. Detailed instruction. Excellent lighting and closeup camera shots. No annoying background music. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!
Great video! I tried to install mine using the written instructions that came in the box and I couldn't figure out the correct orientation of the parts. I never would have gotten it installed without your help. THANKS!
Glad I could help!
Thank was a very helpful video! Crazy how much adjusting it took but was good to use your video as a guide.
Glad it helped!
Just wanted to say thank you. Your video probably saved me 2 hours. Hardest part was unscrewing the T30 screws . Those things were a real bitch to unscrew. You have a new subscriber
Glad it was helpful! Thanks
I have a 2024 Ridgeline, and they put a rubber washer under the six screws. They were very easy to get off.
Excellent installation video. The instructions that came with the tonneau cover are mostly useless.
What I did that differed from your installation was that I attached the rail brackets closest to the cab of the truck, and then correctly spaced the rails at the other end before clamping them in place with the rear clamps. After making sure the cover closed properly, I installed the middle clamps.
The T30 head trim bolts were a bear to remove.
Have you thought about upgrading your Ridgeline's horn? My '17 Ridgeline's horn bleats: I want a hearty honk.
Glad it was helpful. Yes, I think my next upgrade will be the dual horn. I realized how lame the horn was when I tried it. Definitely not truck-like.
thanks great video!
Glad it helped!
Thank you
Thanks for the install video, I was going to install a used one on my Honda Ridgeline, but it is missing the clamps, any clue as to how to get those clamps?
Sorry, but I’m not sure. You may try contacting the company directly to see if you can purchase them
Thanks for the video, was great in helping getting tonneau cover on. One question though, the foam strip, there was nowhere in the written instructions or in the video on where it should go. My wife said under the tonneau cover up at the front by the cab, I did not install it anywhere. Is the foam strip necessary?
I noticed the same thing and it was not clear where that strip would go. I did not want to put it on the tailgate, so the only other place would be the front. However, it seemed it might create a problem sealing there too.
I put the strip under the cover on the front edge of the bed. I don't know if it was necessary, but the cover fit fine with it there. I will be curious to see how the cover does when it rains.
Does this affect the opening of the trunk? I want to get a cover, but some sights say they will prevent the trunk from opening completely.
Are you talking about the tailgate or the trunk? No affect on the tailgate. However, all covers would prevent completely opening the trunk while they are on. You just need to roll it back a little if you want to completely open it. Trunk can be opened a little while it is rolled closed.
what kind of drill bit is needed to get the bolts off on each side (I believe its 3 on each side) ?
Torx T-30 bit
How waterproof has the tonneau been?
So far, mine has been good. My only complaint is that I believe some of the washers are not stainless steel as I am starting to see rust after just a few months. I'll probably swap them out for new washers and do a video on that issue.
