I loved the fact they are being given a reality check by the President of Argentina that is also an economist. It was a truly great speech they all needed to hear: Capitalism brought more people out of poverty in the shortest time period than any other economic system in the world..
And for all the idiots saying the economic drive of capitalism will hurt the planet, it won't. The Earth can take far worse than what we're doing. Just don't dump waste into water that will enter the oceans without filtering it first since that takes far longer for Earth to fix for us. We could up our carbon output by ten times and only raise global temperatures by like 1 degree before it stabilizes, warmer temperature and more CO2 means more plants growing far faster than normal right now, which means less CO2 and more food for us and for every ecosystem on Earth. Its all a balance and we aren't significant enough to upset that balance much, if at all. Meanwhile the Sun, which bombards us with over 10 thousand times more energy than mankind uses at all times and which is currently about to invert our magnetic poles, is doing far more to drive climate, in this case pushing us to a very cold year of 2024.

His understanding of economics is woefully inadequate. It makes for a great speech to blame every single problem in the world on one scapegoat though, his political opponents. If anyone is trying to convince you that what makes some people rich and others poor as the rich people are more free than the poor, time to start throwing some massive grains of salt. The people of China are significantly wealthier than those of Argentina, I don’t think anyone in Argentina would claim they are less free. It is possible to be rich and repressed or free and poor. I know it sounds really good to people struggling with economic hardship that all they need is a little more freedom and they can be just like the billionaires, but all that extra “freedom” is just going to give them more power of you when you have to negotiate in the “free market”. If a monopoly controls all of the food because you can’t restrict the “freedom of business”, how free are you?
