For extra Open Sauce funding you guys should sell a shirt that says "I didnt go to Open Sauce"
I’d buy that XD
We really need this as well. Otherwise, we can't get into our ketchup and mayo
"did you hear the chirp?" "No I had a father" 💀

It drives my wife nuts that I'll leave bacon out for days after I cook it, she immediately refrigerate leftover. Similarly, I'll eat a 6-8 hour old cheeseburger no problem and she's sure I'm going to die.
That bacon shit is crazy dude
@@happyskating2000 yeah, it is crazy to ever have leftover bacon 😂 😂 😂
My wife affectionately refers to me as 5 trash pandas in an overcoat for this reason.
That and the gas station foods that I'm willing to consume.
DAYS? surely by dinner you'll have decided that you probably won't eat leftovers from breakfast
@@ironpro7217 I like a few pounds cooked at a time 😂
As for the torture: your nerves can only send so much signals before they deplete. Also you'd psychologically also get used to the pain. That's why proper torture (I feel sick using such phrase) is done in intervals, so it's a "shock" every time, as neurons regenerate their pain-signaling ability...
Thanks for the tip
Thanks for the tip. Muahahahaha

I feel like the tv on the back of a truck idea is something is technically not illegal but will become illegal very quickly once someone does it.
Watch TV and save gas, by being in the trucks slipstream! Bonus!!!!
If the truck brakes the TV needs to overlay something to signal this since you aren't paying attention
led illuminated animated window/bumper sticker
It already exists, people do it in the south and I’ve seen semi trucks with screens on the doors advertising stuff. It’s dangerous but not illegal
I think they've done this before to let you see what is in front of the truck.
Re: leaving food out. I usually do that after I'm done meal prepping for the week. I will take all the Tupperware of food and leave them on the counter until they cool down, usually only about an hour. Then I'll put em in the fridge. That way the fridge doesn't have to fight hard to return to operating temp. The ambient air brings the food from ~110° down to ~80°. Then the fridge can cool it the rest of the way more efficiently
Also I should add, I'm white
I do pretty much the same thing, though maybe I leave it out longer, I'll always get it put away before I go to bed, though. As well as making your fridge not work as hard it also cuts down on the amount of condensation inside the Tupperware.
I almost feel like it was a bit to make the video 50% quieter than it should be

You guys are getting to understand the alignment problem inherent in every system. The only way to resolve that issue is to form trust, but that requires a lot of structural design to balance power.
"All of our ideas - we don't need to actually do them. We could just have people do them"
That's exactly how the amazon board meeting went when they invented those "automated" grocery stores.
A mechanical turk is driving the box truck TV
The only way for have a "game while driving" works would be introducing the destination, the game traces a road to follow and it gives you points by driving correctly and reduces points each time you do the opposite, like turning without the lights, or ignoring a stop.
I have also experienced the horrible sensation of biting aluminum with metal fillings
New fear unlocked: aluminum foil touching my filling.

I usually am too, as long as it has cooled to near room temp, but sometimes I forget (probably because I wanted it to cool off more) and let it sit longer.

Filipino family, here. At Family Parties we would always leave most food out overnight and anybody left who slept over would eat the leftovers. Nobody ever got sick from it. I still leave cooked rice out. From my experience you can tell when something is bad from the taste or the smell. I've only had 1 instance of food poisoning in my life and it was from a Chinese Buffet.
200 hours uploaded per minute is the only yt upload rate I've ever heard, and that was 2 or more years ago.
Some convention panels do livestreams and they're pretty nice to watch if you cant make it for whatever reason. Considering most of the time only some people from at convention even get into the panel, its cool to have a wider reach to the people who cant make it in. It doesn't have to have high production value at all, like a 480p live feed is fine
Speaking of projecting movies on semis and etc. Whenever I get stuck behind someone driving under the speed limit I always wish I could project an image of the speed limit at them.
Fastest way to melt butter: Long heated tray. Place the butter at one end. Use one of those concrete trowels to push it along and into the tray. Make sure the tray is hot enough to melt the butter instantly and then pushing it along means that the solid butter quickly touches new preheated metal. Like pushing butter around on the pan vs just leaving it in the middle and waiting. As an added bonus, you could have the tray on a slight incline and add a funnel shape to the bottom end so that the melted butter instantly drips into your bag of popcorn.
I'm so happy you guys mentioned kipkay. I miss him. My mind then went to household hacker. Wish you guys could've had him on. RIP
Content creators needs a union
Nobody gives a #¤% about creators and creators are too busy creating to give a #¤%, so if they can join a union, they can pay a small fee to have someone else give a #¤% on their behalf, and maybe, just maybe, things might get a little better for the creators.

I’m watching while driving now. Being as this is a podcast it’s more listen than watch which makes this good for long drives
On the butter topic, I believe that a microwave would be the fastest method to melting the butter.
The grill segment is amazing lmao
what your describing at 31:25 is actually an extremely well documented ecological issue called Tradgedy of the commons, it applies to everything that is shared.

jabril i know exactly what you’re talking about biting aluminum foil with a filling. i’ve had fillings since i was a kid and it would happen sometimes while i’d eat chipotle lol
it feels like being tazed
came looking for this comment, we are not alone! there are dozens of us lol
@4:30 So i had discovered TheBackYard Scientist when Burnie on the Rooster Teeth podcast mentioned watching one of his vidoes, and saying "This guy is gonna get someone killed"
29:25 I swear like 4 people I know I’ve seen them watching that short. And then it popped for me too.
Depending on the time of year, some stuff would be left on the stove (turned off) overnight. If it wasn't a heat wave, then usually it was safe. Of course we're talking about brining food to temperature (during cooking or serving) and then it is left covered with a fitting lid to prevent any stray insects. I don't think there's much that can grow in 24h in something that was essentially sterilised. Of course you have to handle it properly, but we were kinda germophobic anyway xD
I still avoid anything that's been left out for hours after cooking. Some foods come with bacterial spores present that do not get killed by cooking. Perfectly safe if eaten soon after, but if left to sit the spores can grow into full blown bacteria. For example, rice often contains spores of Bacillus cereus, which can cause reheated rice syndrome, which probably won't kill you, but messes with your guts.
Dear Jabrils,
I liked the chaos of different topics. I miss it. I would not resent you bringing it back.
Does anyone else sit here each week taking notes for when i eventually commit to starting my channel hahaha
Increase the surface area of the butter, and then most heating elements would work much quicker
A rosin press or a tshirt press wpuld probably be the fastest way to controllably melt a rtick of butter
43:08 I'm Swedish with a mix of German and Irish. Any more white and I'd be albino. The meal in not over until the leftovers are in the fridge. Some foodstuffs, the extra prepared gets placed in the fridge before the meal ever starts.
I still remember back in the day when opened up youtube without needing to search something for the first time, it felt so weird 🤣
I would make cast iron molds into various shapes and then a press. The cast iron will be cherry red, butter inserted, press flat to get the most surface area. Say 1/16” gap. Molds doesn’t have to be perfect, just seal in some way. Maybe walls and then the top mold is just a press. Like a mussubi maker thing.
I would also test a vacuum chamber, depending on what constitutes time. Like if you don’t count pulling the vacuum.
If I crowdsource funding for materials can I submit this to open sauce? This doesn’t sound too hard
Get cody'slab as a guest please.
I’m actually shocked yall didn’t come up with the obvious answer to the butter question. You gotta use one of those hydraulic anvils they use for large scale metalworking. One blast of a hammer with a head half a meter wide would deform the butter to extremely high surface area and minimal cross sectional area immediately, and the pressure would conduct a ton of heat into it immediately. You can get a nail red hot with just a few strikes of a normal human wielded hammer on an anvil, that butter on a hydraulic anvil would be liquid in a single strike, especially if you had worked hot metal on it moments before.
Liquefy that butter with an ultrasonic device. idk.
Yeah I was thinking microwaves, but ultrasonics could do too. You could calibrate the amount of energy delivered to just melt and not boil it.
I leave hot food out until it's cool. For pizza, this is a few minutes. For the two gallons of tomato sauce I make (I don't have a problem, shut up), it usually needs to cool overnight before I get the tupperware.
should probably have a link to the Open Sauce site in the description
Allen is right about the dinner to breakfast pipeline but you want to wait to put the food in the fridge because its hot and if you put in the fridge its gonna make condesation and get all nasty
A rube goldberg machine is always a good idea if you want to make a simple video that uses tons of random stuff you already have so cheap to make.
for some reason, this is the funniest episode title

Voice command accessibility on the phone, some sort of customization so when it hears like 3 honks it swipes 😂
Butter melt speed run is to fire the butter at a wall really fast. If you go fast enough itll vaporize from the heat and explode
I'm very white (and American), and I put leftovers away after a day, sometimes 2. I'll have a nibble later, or eat it for lunch. Or leave it and get to it it the next day. And it's mostly due to laziness. Never had a visible issue that seemed related to consuming leftovers.
Edit to add: I did have a bad dip experience. When I got my first job I had no money until that first paycheck, so I lived on french onion dip for a week. Somewhere in the week it went off, and I was quite ill from it. For 20 years I couldn't eat french onion dip, but now I'm back to loving it.

Metal fillings: Even eating out of an alu container with a normal metal fork feels like licking a battery.
Emptying it on a plate and eating it with the same fork does nothing strange.
I’ve curated a great set of people I follow on TikTok. If you’re just going on to have the algorithm serve you trash no wonder they don’t like it.

the smoke detector is a real thing. I've worked property maintenance and HVAC for the past 10 years I've been in thousands of homes this stereotype is true.
As a dentist I now fully understand why people are so inclined to correct them! that part was painful lol
JABRIL IS BACK!!
One of you needs to make a Grill / AI assistant. "Grill! Translate this menu"
Place the leftovers in the fridge after everyone that will participate has eaten, unless it’s Christmas or thanksgiving then it stays out for a while
For the butter question
The solution is like a plastic pellet extruder, an auger screw that's tapered (for pressurized high flow output) inside a tube that's heated .
Assuming you have 50kg of butter, I'd bet it'd do 0.5L/s min
Also had a similar idea. Hydraulic cylinder with butter in it with a small hole leading to a long tube with huge thermal mass preheated to melty-butter temperature.
38:41 there are some good detectors that go off for 2 years with no battery’s
Kipkay? Man... I forgot about that guy!
Also, the teeth thing. Genetics also have a thing to do with it. I brushed my teeth religiously all my life, then they suddenly started going bad. Turns out that the same genetics that influence joint health and quality influence teeth and bad joints run in my family.

When you hear those chirps in videos they're called hood crickets.
For kpop, they aren't necessarily totally wrong that there is mistreatment in the industry towards idols by their management companies, there are a lot of groups that do take part in the production of their own music and choreography. While some groups still have songs written for them, it's honestly no different than a western artist buying a song from a writer, which happens all the time 😅 A lot of hardwork goes into becoming an idol, so it's a bit disingenuous to call every idol a puppet, but I think it is still fair to acknowledge that there are definitely problems in the music industry as a whole with how celebrities/musicians are treated.

My wife claims that food must cool down to room temp before putting it in the fridge, so it doesn't mess with the temperature too much of the other items in the fridge.
I wanted to go, but I couldn't find any reasonable airfare and am somewhat broke. I really want to come next year, hope it goes ok
I got a fake tooth screwed into my jaw bone and it wasn't that bad. Except I got it done at a really crappy place and it took several visits and a year fo them to finish it.
Most food needs to be put in the fridge immediately (or cooled down quickly and then stored). Some things are lower risk… but this white person values not having food poisoning!
To be fair, my risks of food poisoning are much higher though, as I need lansoprazole to stop my reflux from ruining my throat. And my digestive system is pretty screwed on “good days”.
Have however bitten aluminium foil on a filling, it feels like a 9v to the tooth lol
Just set up a donation button on the website anyways, some people just don't want to have anything in return and want a 3rd party to take some of the cut.
51:00 NileRed enters the chat
I thought of a device that melts butter on demand. it would push it through a grid of nichrome wires.
For leftovers, you should let them sit out and cool off (if served hot) before putting in a container and in the fridge. The reasoning behind this is putting hot food in a sealed container and immediately putting it in the fridge encourages bacteria growth.
Why would the fridge's coldness encourage bacteria growth?
Galvanic shock is horrible. I have at least 2 amalgam fillings and when I got my most recent one I used to accidentally tip my fork onto the filling and i would literally threw the fork out of my mouth.
I always leave food out of the fridge to let it cool off. If i intend to keep it longer than a day, then I'll put it in the fridge after a couple of hours. Never in my 30 years of life have I gotten sick from food. Am white, not American tho.
