Now people drive 70 mph on highways, many of which are rural. Like, how is that program going to be successful? **major eye roll** Meanwhile, a hill I will die on is that I think the US needs to re-evaluate drivers every 10-15 years. I grew up in the early 80s and the term indian giver was used a lot. As was said the meaning was that someone is taking back something that was previously gifted or sold. In elementary school, long before learning the colonizer version of manifest destiny, but right after the heroic bloodless version of Columbus "discovering" America, the veiw of Native Americans was built on the offensively biased and grossly oversimplified story of the first thanksgiving where the Disney Peter Pan style "Indians" welcomed the pilgrims and gave them food and later gave or sold us land (both stories were perpetuated) but later on made war with us to take it back.

I always thought indiangiver was in reference to giving things to native americans, and then taking it away shortly after. You could make the same term for Freemen(giver), they were given reparations, and then shortly after all of those freed slaves had their land taken away and given to European Americans
kinda sad seeing Max being seen as 'the guy that thinks the simpsons is brainwashing americans' bc his analysis is valid, his points are extremely valid. like the simpsons were meant to be of lower class than most americans, where with only one job in the family and 3 kids, they have to think about unexpected bills.. while still owning a house and 2 cars. Back during the shows writing this was seen as really low wealth but today for gen z and millenials it's what we think is the american dream. obviously early writing of the show, the 'golden seasons' aren't being critiqued by max. it's the many later seasons when the show was well known to have a stranglehold on american culture is where he finds the correlation with americans being fed the perspectives of america
Hopefully the fallout series shows Hollywood that they cant just ignore the previous lore from existing media like the egotistical directors always want.

I used to have all the ultimas, and those were in the 80`s and the maps were cloth. Such beautiful work done to the games in the 80`s
1:21:03 I love Kevin so much. Actually I can't even decide who I love more out of you three
I live within 2 hrs distance to 3 nuke plants here in Ontario canada and used to deliver tools and equipment for a construction company that refurbishs reactors and plants ... fro experience. .. you wouldn't make it 2 feet maliciously in those facilities without being shot good luck stealing nuclear material
What the hell is this intro i love it
So much easier to follow with the wide seperation stereo. really need to get that dynamic stereo mix.
I like to think of the multiple conversations occurring simultaneously as a sort of palette cleanser for the mind. Like, I just heard some information, now I’ll just hear some noise.
I love the episodes with Kyle in
Watching kyle on his channel: stand up citizen. Kyle on safety third: one of us one of us
I relaized that my mind was chanting "Mention Total Biscuit, Mention Totalbiscuit" as he was talking about Starcraft.
28:12 that’s why I think the fallout show came out now. To make people think about the good and bad that can come from nuclear. it’s essentially doing the same thing. They got milk campaign dude.
Kevin...hold the mic TO YOUR FACE! You know, the hole where your sound comes from?!
i really love kyle using the conservative models to support nuclear power safety. like even with conservative numbers, it still makes total complete sense.
yippee podcast released on my birthday!
47:00 this is the best trolley experiment variant
Arcanum mentioned, my day is made
@kylehill 57:18 I FEEL you there. My brain doesn't shift well from serious to comedy, either. Trying to describe nuclear holocaust while everyone wants to laugh hurts.
Kyle at 12:20 is hilarious, this is how i feel everyday explaining [what should be] simple concepts to the idiots around me.
I need new people in my life.
Fuck the birds a meteroite didnt kill the dinosaurs WE DID! TOP PREADTOR OF ALL TIME BABY
Rememeber when content creators say their community or viewers run jokes to the ground? Yeah that's basically safety third
with the exception that they dont care for us /j
i wish these 3 dudes calm down i wanna hear Kyle tell me more bout nuclear power
Kyle Hill wearing Game Theorist socks on The Safety Third podcast... Wild!
The nuclear power pr disaster is the whole reason why I want to help teach about nuclear saftey
If I may: ua-cam.com/play/PLNg1m3Od-GgNmXngCCJaJBqqm-7wQqGAW.html
I was cooking dinner and had the volume off reading subtitles. I just started actually paying attention.
Good morning SAFETY THIRD!
Kevin's face at 37:29 - That's how I feel too
The "BMW's dont have turn signals" got me good
This is, undoubtedly, one of the podcasts of all time
I’ve never heard of this podcast, that’s one hell of an introduction
53:26 Some reactors in power plants, such as those in Chernobyl, were designed to create weapon-grade plutonium. Kyle's comments about configuration, shape, charges, etc., still all apply.
What is the name of this book Kyle mentioned regarding 45 mins total destruction
I want an episode with Kyle (one of the more smarter people) and Nick from the yard (one of the Dumbest) people together in the same episode
wtf happened to chris hemsworth?
radiation
This should be higher
RE Mythbusters reuploads: Banijay is a French production company that's had the distribution rights for a lot of Discovery stuff for decades at this point. Still surprising they had no issues with just uploading complete episodes of the show in English, though.
Back during the shows writing this was seen as really low wealth but today for gen z and millenials it's what we think is the american dream. obviously early writing of the show, the 'golden seasons' aren't being critiqued by max. it's the many later seasons when the show was well known to have a stranglehold on american culture is where he finds the correlation with americans being fed the perspectives of america
not even three minutes in and they already split into two gangs talking about their own things
56:54 lol the Amish are going to be living like nothing happened
Hopefully the fallout series shows Hollywood that they cant just ignore the previous lore from existing media like the egotistical directors always want.
