    I know some are saying it doesn’t matter where he wins or not, but I honestly want Johnny Deep to win this case. Justice must be served for all the GBV victims out there, male or female.

    Judge Penney did a terrific job. Kept everything under control with a firm hand while being respectful and likable all the way through. She's the unsung hero, regardless of how it turns out.

      I agree! Her and Judy I swear. That judge had to talk pretty much the entire time and listen to all of that I swear I would turn off the trial just to get a break but she had to listen to it's straight through and even kind of pretend like Amber was truly testifying. I also loved when she joked with Johnny it was awesome. 🤣. "now don't go breaking anything on the way out", JD: "I'll try not to.", lol

But be good to know a lawyer’s opinion or other examples. Shame as she seemed very nice throughout. Probably just got excited being so close to the finish line

      I think this case is more about justice genuinely being served or not. The system is broken if Johnny doesn't win this. You cannot lie under oath. He lost all of those roles because of her involvement with the media whom of which she lied to to make johnny appear more guilty. The question is not, 'Will Johnny win?' It is, 'Is the system broken?'

      It doesn't really matter at this point, but then yes, we could at least see how jury is chosen based on their verdict, whether or not they are paid by the mainstream media, who supports Heard.

      Too much faith in the jury.. whom are regular people, stressed out about their own lives and work and finances with bloated stomachs from preventing flatulence the entire time. And if they have anxiety even more so.. minds will wander and unlike us that can see the edited tiny segments. They have to sit in silence with their heads never clouded with anything else. That seems almost impossible. But that’s just me and I have ADHD, so my own point of view is null now.

    Intuitively, I believe Johnny's suing based on principle... A reckoning. He does this for himself and his family alone.
    *I hope Johnny realizes how he has given courage to people of all ages, who have been and are being victimized* .
    Johnny's lawyers have become his voice, when he had none...
    They've become his shield and his sword, when he was defenceless against his aggressors.
    I'm glad he's taking a stand. And I hope it feels good, like it should...

    I went through a similar relationship. Where you try you’re best to keep it together while the other tries to destroy you. Then when it’s over they still don’t stop trying to take you out. Good for Johnny happy for him.

    I must also add that Judge Penney has been absolutely great. I watched a lot of filmed cases and she is definetely among the best, if not the best judge i've seen: patient, fair, neutral, humorous but in full control. After learning she was a major in the Marines and is a mother of four my respect just grew.

    After spending a full month of my life following this case and the feeds,I will admit that I am going to miss seeing Johnny on a daily basis. Like everyone my respect has grown ten times over. Obviously this wasn't for entertainment, we know that. I hope we will see him in movies in the near future & if not? I hope he has a very peacefull life ahead of him.

      @@T1LL3R I think the evidence against her is overwhelming. And there has been a lot of doubt cast on her case against him. It was especially damning when the forensics expert said her photos of bruising were tampered with on a photo editing software.

    I like this judge very much. She's smart, very observant, wise to the ways of the world, in control of her courtroom without being snarky, smiles easily, and she has an inner beauty that shines on her face. I read that she served in the U.S. Marines, too. WOW!

      In my opinion a good judge is like a good sports referee/umpire; if things are running smoothly you don't really notice them. That was the case here. Her time management was very good,with court resuming promptly most of the time.On top of all that she presided over a very high profile trial and didn't play to the cameras, unlike say,Judge Holbrooke in the Husel trial. Another very good judge is Judge David Wolfe in Tennessee. He has his own YT channel.

    The fact that the judge allowed the tempered photographs as admissible evidence is disturbing.
    The fact that AH’ lawyer was even allowed to ask the question if the photos were fake was atrocious.
    Lets hope the jury puts this right.

    This judge has been a great representation of what a judge should be and how they should control their courtroom. I feel she is truly non-biased. The fact that she got applause at the end of her instructions to the jury
    speaks volumes. I am a court reporter. I can tell you that does not happen. EVER!

    The officials working in and around this case should deserve a great honor to appreciation for their work, valuable time and energy spent. I am certain that this may be a 'usual' thing for those that do these jobs but without these men and women we wouldn't be able to come this far.
    As for this case, I honestly wish Johnny the best and that he wins this. I feel so bad for him that he had to endure all this.
    Hopefully he can get his life back to the good side of things. Perhaps this may also be a huge life lesson to himself to strafe for a better self-image (With other words, working on the drinking and other addictions from the past).
    Johnny has shown that he has a heart of gold and a pure soul, he fights his own demons as are a lot of us on this tiny globe. I would love to have him with us for the many years to come, hopefully in a healthier, better future.

      It’s not entirely about depp winning the case, he’s already won or gained what he wanted/may have deserved through this case. Heard can’t even pay the settlement if she were to lose, and depp and his team know this. Depp isn’t looking for settlement, just his version of the truth which he was able to express through this process.

      Wasnt the whole trial originally based on defamation of character based on MS HERDS OP ED in the WASHINGTON POST. AH denied it was pointed at JD. She later admitted in court that she wanted the world to know what JD WAS. Then she wrote it/didn’t write it/co wrote it involving people who wanted to edit it.
      What type of person stalks their other half with spy vids and photos and publishes them with her own spin.
      She is a very needy unbalanced person.I think she needs a mental healthcare check particularly in view of this baby she has acquired. Who out there would let her babysit their child, seriously.

This person who I was talking to had the contention that perhaps we’ll never know what REALLY was going on, just only what the jury says.       This kind of defamation trial is extremely hard to win. Johnny was going to be fighting an extreme uphill battle as soon as he filed this case, and while our justice system does have some serious flaws, him losing this case would not be a great example of those issues

    I'm not remotely interested in the Celebrity culture but this case I've been following because I too as a Male have been subject to Domestic violence and eventually had the courage to walk away for my own sanity and self-worth. Amber Heard's lies echoed with me as because I'm a big bloke I was also told nobody will believe me. How true that was. Domestic violence should never be trivialised as it ruins people's lives and self-worth and self-esteem. Team Johnny all the way

      I never gave two hoots about Depp before this. Saw a few of his films years ago andhad no opinion about his character. This trial laid everything bare which was truly a courageous act by JD. He comes across as having a very sensitive soul. I wish him a more healthy life partner.

    I have question, being from the UK, I'm not sure how USA justice works. my question is, has the jury been kept part from all media regarding this case? If so how does that work? Any contact with family etc?

      In a civil case (as opposed to a criminal case) such as this you are not sequestered. You give an oath not to discuss it or violate any other lawful direction on penalty of criminal charges.
      During trial days, its like a job, you go home after each day. During deliberations you may be sequestered, but that varies by Judges directions, jurors choice (they can request to be put up in private lodgings) and what state they are in. I'm not sure regarding this particular case if they are now sequestered...

      It was terrifying to hear that tape how could someone do that to someone they say they love it was like she was in a manic state. This woman really does have a mental disorder and if she doesn’t get help she may kill someone next. To think she has a baby is truly scary she is unable to control her temper and makes it unsafe for that poor baby I hope child services will step in and monitor her.

    I'm still confused why ordinary people are allowed to decide cases like this. I'm in polisci, and 80% of people I debate are illogical, easily swayed, and form strong opinions before knowing much. I would hate having my fate be decided by the idiocity of the general public.

      I don’t like the jury system either. But it’s better than one single judge determining the outcome. A panel of 3 or more judges is better. Look what happened in the UK trial. It was decided by one judge, and his son apparently had ties to the tabloid outlet that was one of the parties. That’s why JDepp lost the case there.

      the jury is comprised of your peers in the community. it just takes 1 juror for a mistrial/hung jury. at least you have a presumption of innocence here and some other rights although sometimes the law is not followed for folks.

    its interesting to watch jury's work. i dont have that in my country.. we used the 3 judges as the ultimate decider for a case

      Judges are professionals more suited to administer justice.. the Virginia Court uses jury system.. strangely they require the jurors to have a unanimous verdict for defamation suit to succeed... the jurors are just normal citizens and not really trained for the field..how does the system expect them to have a unanimous verdict...? judges are trained to administer justice and it is more practical that judges are appointed for cases where unanimous verdict is required to determine outcome of a case

    As a DV survivor I really hope justice is served. Amber heard took advantage of things she has no understanding of. She used unspeakable situations to her advantage to hurt someone and to have control over them. It is absolutely disgusting. She deserves jail time in my opinion. People who make false claims should face jail time.

      Yup, in the eyes of the law she should just be another person. As with anyone else, she's an adult and should face consequences like one; committing purjury is a punishable offense.
