My theory is that these people have a lack of survival instinct because of how sheltered they were growing up, and therefore never understood true danger. Reasoning? Besides the obvious pred factor, the woman showed up to their house with a gun. Guns are made to maim and kill, and destroy. That’s the only logical reason she would show up there. Yet people claim they wish they were the boy. What they don’t even realize is that if they were the boy; they might have been *dead.* Looks don’t equivalate to lives, and we were raised as kids to not judge books based on their covers. She had a fiance and a few kids. She had a great life seemingly. That poor boy is going to suffer for the rest of his life.
I really don't care if she has issues finding work in the future, she knew the risks when she did what she did! her job was to protect children, not harm them. Her sentence should be much harsher than the norm considering what her job was & i don't care about her mental health issues either. We all struggle with mental health issues to some degree, but that's no excuse for her actions.

Yes, it's interesting and depressing to know why some of these cases never make it to trial. Imagine these poor kids, having to relive all the sordid details on the witness stand. Particularly in this case, where the selfish hag tried to guilt the boy into compliance, and with a gun no less, threatening his mother's life.
She went to the boy’s house and threatened self-end as a manipulation tactic, not because she was feeling anything other than the desire to maintain psychological control over others.

Well for one she’s attractive and physically most 13 year old boys are already physically stronger than a grown woman. There’s not as much of a perceived power differential
She’s not so pretty without her makeup in jail.

I’m so sorry. That’s so messed up. 💔
That is totally crap. You needed the help not him, he needed prison.
The blessing in disguise is she will not have the opportunity to a abuse another child--including her own--for as long as she is in prison.
She's a female defendant. So not long based on historical data. People have difficulty convicting women more so women that look like her. SMH. Sad but true.
And she has a baby?
Is it the kid's or the husband/boyfriend's?

All the women (I say that loosely) doing these sick things to kids is just so disturbing.

Right? First time she got caught. Surely the police have been interviewing all her other "clients."

Right dillusion of grandeur!
@@Alexandraincognito I hate when people automatically go to mental health when someone breaks the law. Sounds like there were definitely poor boundaries and it is important for therapists/counselors to do their own work (many of us get into this work because of our own stuff). There may be a mental health condition, I just don’t like when that is the first thing we jump to when someone could just have broken the law and not have a diagnosis.
@@DrPatriceBerry Absolutely. I appreciate your nuanced take. The throwing around of diagnoses these days is not helpful.
"Negligently supervised"? I can't see it. She undoubtedly covered her trail very well. Blaming the employer rather than holding her accountable is misdirecting, at the very least. Thank goodness the mother saw it ❤
Her employer likely had malpractice insurance on her as their employee
She is disgusting. What disgusting behaviour. She was in a position of trust and power. The boy was super vulnerable. She should never work with vulnerable people ever again. She can’t be trusted. This isn’t normal behaviour.

@@SapienSafari no no we do. How many people protect the predators in their own families? Most predators prey on people in their own homes.
@@healingv1sionAnd there’s people right here in the comments talking about how “lucky” the literal child is because of how “pretty” the woman is.
Jeffrey Dahmer was considered attractive by women back then, but it doesn’t mean he was innocent. He was disgusting and a murderer.
Seems like they may have not been taught “stranger danger”, or really ANY of the valuable lessons taught in elementary schools that were to help keep us safe.
Tl;dr: The people that do coddle predators, are the ones that would have been weeded out by natural selection in the wild.

The amount of time they get is heart breaking. Especially for a victim
I really don't care if she has issues finding work in the future, she knew the risks when she did what she did! her job was to protect children, not harm them. Her sentence should be much harsher than the norm considering what her job was & i don't care about her mental health issues either. The wonderful smart phone always gets these teachers and social workers in trouble. That's the main reason they get caught. The text messages, the calls, the pictures, the videos.....
No they get caught because they sexually abuse children.
Why didn’t prosecutors charge her with holding someone hostage with a deadly weapon. Did she allow them to leave? No! That’s literally the definition of a holding someone hostage with a deadly weapon.
Yuck is disgusting that an adult would take advantage of a young teen. She definitely needs to be in jail so she can't hurt anyone else.

Yes, it's interesting and depressing to know why some of these cases never make it to trial. Imagine these poor kids, having to relive all the sordid details on the witness stand. Right! He’s “diagnosing” her with BPD because she “believed she was above the law” Grandiosity while possible in BPD is way more common in other disorders NPD or bipolar disorder.
Social Worker = Harsh Sentence! A that position of trust that abuses a vulnerable child. A very, very very harsh message should be sent so that people in that field realize there is no second chance for abusing a kid.
