    Picked this one up today for a daily wear. Went into look at the PRX Powermatic and the Gentleman Powermatic, but my eyes drew to this. For a daily wear dive watch, this is really hard to beat at the price point.

    Bought this last week store told me there have been some micro upgrades from last years model and I love it. It looks beautiful the bezel on my watch is much stiffer and doesn’t rotate as easily as yours. The Lume is much brighter for me when I tested in the dark and it lasted for a while for me around a strong 20 min. Everything about this watch is awesome and it looks spectacular with the AR coating. The sealed crown is superb quality for prevent any water from coming in but many Tissot owners forget they need to screw the crown forward so that it seals tight until in no longer moves forward. Many click it into the second last place leaving a gap not making it water proof and all the water going in. Read the instructions carefully or ask the salesperson they should provide proper instructions. For the money it can’t be beat 300M with 80 hours and it beats the Rolex Submariner in operating hours without wearing and it costs less than 1/10 the price. Thanks for the video and I hope they improve upon this watch but I love the 43mm and the looks make a statement and the Greek blue ocean face is gorgeous.

    Today cyber Monday 2022, I walked into my local high end jewelry store who is a AD for Rolex, Tudor Tissot, and Hamilton among a few others to buy my first Rolex. The Submariner I tried on is basically unobtainable, I instead walked out with a Tissot Seastar 2000 at retail to get on the waiting list for Rolex and got to know my AD salesman who has all my info now. I could not be more happier with this beautiful Seastar that has 10 hours more power reserve than a Rolex Submariner and also goes twice the depth. I just absolutely love this Tissot and how it looks on my wrist and if I never get a call for a submariner, Oh well. I just may start a Tissot collection.

    I have no idea why some people want their diver watch lume to glow like the county fair at night. Who the heck really wants to be wearing a 500 to 600 dollar watch that glows like a glow stick at night catching all kinds of unwanted attention to your wrist. I think the lume on this watch is totally acceptable...matter of fact, I would have preferred even less lume on this watch for my liking cause it makes the watch look more luxurious on an adult male wrist instead of looking like a kids glow in the dark toy watch. Enough with all the lume arguments as to which is better and brighter...it's complete nonsene! I own this watch and in my opinion it blows the Seiko SKX and the Citizen Automatic diver watches out of the water any day.

    Your review hits on many things I bring up in my review that has yet to be published. The bezel on mine is much different than yours. It’s actually a huge improvement with solid ratcheting and no back play. The lume, isn’t bright BUT lasts all night since I’ve been sleeping with it and wake up to check the the time, it’s still glowing. Solid review man. 👊

    I’ve seen a lot of complaints about the lume. I just got this in black pvd. The lume is fine. It is equal, almost exactly the same as Citizen lume. It’s a blue tint that literally lasts all night. It’s not initially as bright as Seiko but it lasts longer. Similar to Citizen divers. When I check it at 4:45am, in pitch black, 6-8 hours after being charged with light at all, I can easily read it still. Basically the same lume in tint and longevity as a Citizen dive watch.

    Tissot really offer incredible value for money. The movement is what separates their watches from other entry level semi premium brands. This movement far outclassed the Selita movements used by rivals at this price point. The Swatch group are onto a winner with this movement. The only complaint is they should have offered it with a 40mm option for those with a smaller wrist or to cater to females. The 2000 model at 46mm diameter is even more over-sized.

    • @davids.2317
      @davids.2317 3 роки тому

      The only real advantage of this movement over the sellita is the power reserve, the disadvantage is that most watchmakers cant service it because of the equipment needed to regulate it, the powermatic movement needs to be serviced by the manufacturer or an eta service centre.
      I would prefer a cosc certified sellita, very accurate and easy to service.

      @@davids.2317 Service is $50, which beats most other shops, and is a steal compared to some luxury brands (they'll charge what this watch costs!) But you do have to ship the watch if you're not lucky enough to have an ETA center (or Tisssot store) nearby. Fact is, it will very rarely need servicing, since modern lubes are good for decades.

    • @gpearce11
      @gpearce11 2 роки тому +3

      While I get that a higher beat rate is preferred, i know that given a choice between a 35-45h PR 28800bph movement, and an 80h PR 21600bph movement, the vast majority of people will take the longer power reserve. Not to mention that the only comparable modern art this price point, the Seiko 6R35, is also a 21600bph movement.
      Also, you can't seriously be trying to compare the new Ctizen Calibre 0200 to an ETA Powermatic 80, because I would certainly hope that the movement in an $5K+ watch is better than the movement in one less than a quarter the price.

Seems a Micro idea that still isn't catching on with big brands. My older 1000 is the fume dial, which I prefer, but the bezel upgrade is good here. Idk, I'd probably pass on it as entry level diver. I totally would consider it, if it wasn't for the inelegant sizing....I don'tlike the circular non-color matched date window much.... It's not a deal breaker.... But it's off-putting, IMO. @@WatchChris thanks. I'm thinking of getting a black version on nylon or steel but it looks like both are still the old version, at least on the official website.

    Excellent watch, the “T” counterbalance makes it unique and looks good IMO. If you can go the extra $400, get the Seastar 2000, thank me later, but this is beautiful as well!

    Would be perfect if they offered a smaller version at the same time. They are losing market share by not catering to smaller wrists.

    I wish for Tissot to upgrade all their quartz Seastar chronograph divers (including the Pepsi bezel) with a 1/100 second chapter ring, 7 hand D4S ETA 251.264 BE 1/10 second, ETA 251.264 AN 1/100 second.
    Instead of the G10.212
    The quartz Seastar chronograph uses the ETA G10.212 gearbox, it has 4 jewels, it's disposable, replacable, used in low-cost watches, not repairable, replacements are cheap, part of their Fashionline series.
    The 251.264 has 27 jewels, 7 hands, it's rebuildable, repairable, replacable, replacement are double the price of the G10.212, part of the Flatline series.

    I’ve held this watch on two occasions and I’ve been so put off by how cheap the bezel feels. Perhaps my AD’s inventory is old… but it is plasticky, loose and clicky but in a bad cheap way. Anyone else has had this experience? Cheers

    Those are not "female endlinks". Thier proper name is "transgender endlinks".
    Why is that? Well, that is because they do look like female endlinks, but they don't act like them.
    Female endlinks turn around all the way down and around and touch the caseback, making the bracelet more comfortable, much more versatile for more wrist sizes and especially make the watch wear smaller on a smaller wrists. Here that is not the case.
    These endlinks do look like female endlinks, but act much more like male endlinks - hence "transgender endlinks".

    I really like what they've done there; I really like my Seastar, but as dive watches go, it's a bit blingy! This tones it down and gives a more tooly vibe! 👍🏼
    Now the question is: Take a bath on mine to get one of these or sit tight!?

    • @marvinberwart
      @marvinberwart 3 роки тому +1

      Hold, spare, take the bath then get a nice upgrade...
      That's what I've done at least, from a Seiko to a Certina, then from the Certina to a seamaster.
      Took me 1 and a half years.

      @@marvinberwart Thanx, I don't really need to sell a watch to buy a watch from a financial perspective; it's more of a matter of having two nearly identical watches and whether it makes sense to go from one to the other. I'll likely just stay with the one I've got. 👌

    Sad they don’t do them with a white or cream faced dial! 😢
    More & more mfgr. tend to do black or navy blue dials ⌚️(all the horses go drink at the same time) 🤷🏻‍♂️
    Tissot tend to be very very conservative: rare orange, red, green or yellow dials 👀
