Tissot is so much beautiful compared to both of them... Tissot hands down.
Trust me the SBDC061 in person is beautiful
Depends on what you're judging on, tissot looks more shiny/dressy, seiko looks more sporty/tool watch. Depends on the look your going for
As a fan for both brands, I would say Tissot niled this time. I got 2020 version and the new version with engraved number on Bazel. Great update. I also have Hydroconquest from Longines and Aquis from Oris. Three of those watches are about the same quality. Tissot offers insane value for seastar this year
Mr. Le its been 1 year so ı m sorry to disturb you.But I ve been collecting watches since 1995 and I would recommend you not to compare tissot with longines :) I have both tissot and longines and I obviously say that Longines hydroconquest is much better than not only tissot :) but also Oris and tag heuer. Don’t let the pricing fool you.
@@pavelpetrovichkirsanov7292 If you don't collect Rolex exclusively, then you are poor riffraff.
The Tissot offers so much value and it’s very good looking.
Tissot could be a home run, thou the large numbers on the bezel looks like it is trying hard. Plus the case width seems bigger against the lug width on the Tissot. But over all Tissot movement is far better than Seiko's.
I like the look of the Tissot better. Also the value for money goes to Tissot.
I really like the Tissot, I wish they lose the T counter balance in the seconds hand! Huge fan of the channel! Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
And the hands are too chunky on the Tissot Seastar.
I like the T Lol
@@larryfishkind5387 Of course! It's their Tissot T!🤣
I've just received a grey Seastar 1000 and it's a phenomenal watch. It's had so many comments recently by friends and family, it's a real stunner.
Great comparison...The Tissot does look a lot like the Aquis.
I was seriously considering the Seiko 200MM, but ultimately decided to go for the 300MM Ltd Ed green dial SLA047 140th anniversary. The improvements over the 200MM were substantial. The biggest improvements are the easy adjust bracelet, sapphire bezel and the grand seiko 8L35 movement. At $2300, the 300MM (from watchkeeper) is the way to go.
Thx for your great Video. The Tissot Seastar 1000 Powermatic 80 is a new edition in 2021. The design has been revised and you have to say that this watch is very inexpensive for what this watch has. I don't know of any diver's watch that can actually beat the Tissot in terms of price. All in Love Tissot
Got the Blue Tissot from 2020 with silicium spring. It runs 0 to +3 sec a day. Seikos are not for me. Like your Videos, greetings from Germany :-)
I have the seiko in blue and I'm perfectly happy with it.
I really like that seastar…. That’s a great comparison!
I have a 2022 Tissot SeaStar, love it.
Your video makes me smarter, thank you !
Looking to get my first automatic and I think I'm set on a seastar.
The Tissot 2000 with its turquoise wave dial is a much beautiful watch.❤
I bought the new version of the Tissot in grey but haven’t sized it yet. I swore the bracelet has screws and not push pins. Could you show a video of you sizing the bracelet? It would help a lot.
Does the new powermatic 80 have any servicing issues??Can it be serviced or is it a replacement part in 5 years??Saw somewhere that its a throwaway.
I really like the polished centerlink on the Tissot. I want a dressy driver, i have a g-shock for a tool watch that i beat up when hiking or whatever. But the dainty little leather strapped dress watches arent my vibe.. so having a dressy diver is perfect in my collection.
43mm is perfect for me, although I like both that broad arrow type hour hand on the Seiko knocks it down a bit for me
The Seastar looks very much like an Oris Aquis looking straight on.
Great comparison! Tissot all day for me
I really like both but I wish the Tissot had bigger hour markers for the large handset. I enjoy these watch battle videos. How about one of these compared to a Rolex Sub? I know Rolex will come out on top but seriously how much more am I really getting for that price tag. Thanks @watchchris
Does the bezel align on the Seiko?
Hey Chris, love your videos. However, I would really appreciate it if you would measure the actual dial, the face of the watch. Everyone measures the case. But the dial is what affects legibility and perceived size.
I own a Seiko & a Tissot that I could make a similar comparison to:
The SPB071J PADI & Seastar 1000 T1204071105100.
3:34 - - Spec's are similar to your pair. I do like the exhibition caseback as well. I don't fault either brand for their caseback choice. Tissot decided to invest in the exhibition caseback, "greater" water resistance & decorative movement while Seiko decided to invest in the ISO certification. I have and/or had diver watches with water resistance rated from 200m to 500m with exhibition casebacks. Not one of my pieces that are ISO certified have an exhibition caseback and I believe more purpose built rather than for show & tell.
Want to see a decorated Seiko movement? There's always the Alpinist & Presage lines.
On a side note; I own several Seiko Kinetic watches that are "dive-style"and all have exhibition casebacks EXCEPT for three: The SKA369 which is ISO certified and 2 AGS SCUBA watches.
I'd choose the seiko all day long. Not a fan of polished links. But I love most things seiko so I'm probably biased..
I finnaly choose tssot over SPB079j1 (int version of SBDC061), just because I like the all black version. So stealthy, contrasty with it's simple but huge white hands, and overall easier to read. The 80h movement also give more point over the SPB079J1. But, although tssot doing decently in lume, seiko lumibrite always outstanding. And rubber strap on SPB079J1 is way better than tssot
I'd take the SBDC061. I had the SBDC061, actually sold it. Ended up buying a Pepsi Sumo (new model), and I think I prefer it strangely, maybe because the dial area is smaller on the sumo with its thicker bezel. I wasn't a fan of the shiny bezel on SBDC061 with the matte grey dial, seemed a bit mismatched under daylight; actually prefer a nice pepsi bezel. SBDC061 felt like a better built watch than the sumo though. Polished centre links on Tissot will be a scratch fest.
Love the Mido 😍
Not fair comparison because of price are not close great review
I have the Seiko PADI SPB071J so I suspect the finishing is better on the Seiko.
Tissot any time. But I'm biased because I'm Swiss! 😍
Very excellent video, thanks
4:50 Wow, never thought I'd say this, but I think I prefer the bracelet on the Seiko! 😅😅
For the price, hands down the far superior Tissot 2000 Professional. Still loving mine! Best diver for a grand, easily. Between those two you have, I much prefer my 061. Lume, full DiaShield, dial layout. I wish they'd kept the fume dial that came with my Tissot 1000 PM80. I won't be changing to the new 1000. If they'd lumed the bezel and kept the fume, I would, but, just for the less shiny bezel, I'm okay with my older 1000. Great review! 👍👍👍
The movement in the sea star is dramatically better.
If both watches have water resistsnce of 200 and 300 meters depth, why is Seiko ISO certified as a diver watch and what will this add to its specifications, please advise.
Nice video!
I recently bought a Tissot Seastar 1000 with a rubber strap and love it. I previously had a Swiss Army that is nice too but always thought it was too small on my arm (it's 38 mm diameter while the Seastar is 43mm).
Comparing it against the Seiko you are showing there, I still prefer the Seastar. There's something strange about the Seiko, not sure what it is.
Will there be a 40mm Tissot powermatic??
Seiko looks waaay better. Not a fan of 6r or Powermatic. I'd choose the Seiko.
It's nothing to do with tolerances for the bracelet locking up on the Tissot. It's the profile of the links. They're too square.
Like the look of the SBDC061 but not the arrow hour hand, it just doesn't go well with the overall retro look of the watch. The 6R15 is ok not outstanding. The powermatic 80 is much nicer but the style of the Tissot is not my cup of tea.
They are both equally good, but the Tissot is Dressier looking, while the Seiko has more of a tool vibe!
How you feeling? Just wondering, because you sound a little congested?
Yes I agree deff dressier because of the bracelet also on the tissot.
I got Covid... And have been recovering feeling much better now thanks for asking. Hope you had a great holiday stay safe!
jut got my tissot seastar 1000...worth the money yo...seriously 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I own two tissot watches and I love them.❤
Seiko for me all day. Would mod the hands with MM300 set.
💯
I have a Seastar 2000, esentially a Planet Ocean for 1/7th the price.
What's the lug size on Tissot? The odd 21 or 19mm?
21 mm
The Seastar has some Aquis clues that I don't like, love the Aquis but just the Aquis. The Seiko is a stunner, very beautiful retro inspired watch!.
Is this still a good buy for seastar?
Really interesting comparison. I think the big thing for me is the case shape/design on the Seiko. Just MILES ahead of the Tissot, and really anything else that I've seen at that price.
Like you said, it makes it wear so well, but it also just looks fantastic!
Now, if only they could bring their A-game to the QC as well 😂😂
I go with Tissot
You seem to be somewhat drawn more toward the Seiko, whilst I definitely lean more toward the Tissot, but I guess that’s what makes the hobby all the more interesting. It would be a shame and a detriment if we all liked exactly the same things!
I really like them both... I bought both for different reasons. Also the tissot is more affordable you're getting a lot more watch for your money with the Seastar
Tissot is the clear winner. This is funny. The Tissot workmanship and movement is better.
Tissot looks much more luxurious in design and finish. Seiko is old school design like but hey I believe we should base our choice on preference of design cause both brand are reliable and bang for the buck
I think u misspelled that Seiko is with 6r35.. its with 6r15 so 50 hours power reserve vs 80H on powermatic 80. To me Seiko looks better but its tough choice between two.
My Seiko King Turtle has saphire, ceramic bezel, and 4R36 movement.
Brand new Gundersons jewelry $350.00
SOLD!
Honestly I think the Tissot is trying yo hard to be an Aquis, btw Seiko does not have a display caseback because of the iso certification
Tissot as always👍🏻
I have the Seiko and it's more of a tool Diver. The Tissot is more of a dress Diver the Seiko also has the improved lume and it shows, tested it against a sumo and turtle better than both.
I like the tissot better.
I love mido.
Would you recommend any of these over a Christopher Ward?
No! The C60 and C65 are definitely another level above these 2 . Make sure to subscribe to CW’s mailing list, they will be having a 50% off sale in about a week or 2. But act fast the watches get sold out very quickly.
I've owned watches from all 3 and christopher ward are much stronger in terms of finishing. Closer to higher end seikos at 3 times the price. Movements will likely be more accurate as well as many are chronometers however power reserves will be much shorter.
CWs are vastly superior to both these. And cost less.
I'm super Seiko but this Tissot is the winner
It's the secondary hand for me, it looks good on watch on the right and then looks like there's something g wrong with watch on the left
Tissot looks better the Seiko looks dated.
I cannot remember ever liking a Seiko hour hand
The power reserve on the Tissot is great, a genuine weekender.
I have the PRX 80 and like the bracelet for the money, if you say this has a good bracelet I have no reason to doubt it. My wrist size is okay but if you have a smaller wrist I see how you may struggle.
Equally so, I do not even get in the shower with any watch so I never seen the Seiko's depth rating as a negative, if I go below 200m, I will have had a burial at sea.
I take your advice on the the bezel, but I only use it when a boring long winded preacher takes the church service.
For me the Tissot is an easy winner.
Thanks for the review it was informative.
Thanks for the comparison but the MM reduced would be a more valid comparison. I am not a fan of the 6r35.... my experience is that it is not consistent at all.
There's always a better choice than Seiko.
Seiko wins.
Both are good watches though.
Wow keren
Tissot hands down - sexy!!
Yep…Seiko for the win. 🤘🏻
💯🤘🏼
I have a stranger theory:
When it comes to driver mechanic watches, it's Seiko professionalism.
When it comes to dress mechanic watches, it's Tissot specifically.
So my voted is Seiko.☺️
For me, Tissot looks nicer, but i am sure Seiko is a better quality
No contest for me. I have the brilliant Seiko. Superb quality and design. Love the modern retro style. The Tissot just looks like another cheap Tissot to me.
I hate all the high polished accents on the tissot. The handset looks incredibly cheap and the polishing on the centre links looks poor with an obvious distortion. Seiko is in a different league in my opinion.
Is the Tissot to large for a woman?
💟
Most people automatically jump on the Tissot because of the specs and swiss made label, even though in reality majority of parts are China sourced Iike most sub $3k watches.. I had the Older model seastar .to use as a throw around watch and it was so cheap in feel and looks, I rather own a parnis..the bezel action was horrible, bezel while ceramic looked ultra cheap as well as the the ultra cheesy hands and markers. The case was finished poorly especially rough underside making it uncomfortable. Seiko beats it by a mile when you have both in your hands.
Out of these two, I much prefer the Seiko. It’s classier and has more of a proper tool watch diver vibe about it, than the more decorative office diver look of the Tissot.
Both watches are very respectable, but it is like comparing a Toyota to a BMW. Great review.
Tissot looks much better.
Tissot is better, more elegant. Seiko is very rough
The tissot reminds me of a high spec invicta. Seiko for the win here by a mile.
Edit: Mido for the win
🌹👌
Tip: Go easy on the umms and ahhs with your future videos.
Tissot watches have never done anything for me. I’d buy the Seiko over Tissot.
And the real winner is the Orient Kamasu.........
Seiko has always a better record and experience in dive watches.
Who would buy the tissot over the seiko tho .... come on
both are mediocre
What would you consider a proper diver(tool watch)?
With you there….but I’d choose the mediocrity of the seiko in this case.
@@dinner_workingsly I was almost sure somebody would have answered a Rolex or an Omega of some sort, a Ulysse Nardin would be better but when water starts to seep inside the watch it hurts less when it’s a lower-end watch.🤨
Seiko just looks ugly & dull, for a diving nerd. Tissot is flashy and much nicer looking, but still could be used for hardcore diving. Tissot wins for me.
Tissot Very Good.
Seiko is not anywhere in the same class of Tissot.
