I'm dual wielding with the Gloomstalker/Assassin build. I'm using the shortsword from Dammon in Act 2 that adds 10 Necrotic damage to every crit - when he starts combat from hiding he's going to get 5 guaranteed crits on the first round, so that sword is adding 50 extra damage that round. It drops off a lot afterwards if the combat is still going, but that's usually enough to take out at least the important enemies.

For my dual weilding setup, i liked running a ‘support’ barb (only really need 2 levels, but tiger totem with wolverine aspect is good) and used reckless attack with things that cared attacking with advantage like the slicing shortsword and the justiciar’s shortsword (don’t actually require the dual weilder feat). eventually you can bring in other thing like the wet trident, etc for more support

Sounds like a great idea. For me the most interesting aspect of actually what combination of weapons can we find that work well together.

I use the same build but use Sacred star and Phalar Aluve in the offhand, using the radiating orb and reverberation gear
She can stack 10 radiating orb and prone half the battlefield on the first turn, it's totally broken

I played a Thief Rogue with duel wielding, It was great. The one issue I had was the off hand attack you do when you attack normally felt like it never hit even when it did the enemies would do the dodge animation. weird bug

@@whitepaws60 did you use two weapon fighting and dual weild it's just best to have both you could use just one or the other or neither I couldn't get my dude to hold 2 weapons without either one of DW or TWF . Best also to use finesse weapons and high dex as the damage is better. If you don't use two weapon fighting the to hit for off hand is lower I believe but I might be wrong .

Hi CVG, thx for the vid. Does the sentinel bug work in honor mode?

Oh and any dual weild it's way better to go all in on dex better for attacks initiative str doesn't matter except for jump carry weight and shoving . My main had a 25 AC and displacement cloak and never get hit . And that's with 22 dex and medium armor that gets full dex for ac plus dual weild and baldurian helmet . Though I haven/ tried honor mode with that build but still should be good .

How come strength doesn't matter? Do the weapons you're dual wielding not depend on strength? I don't know a lot about this :p

He's using lighter finesse weapons, like rapier, short sword, dagger, etc.

Ya no heavy weapons use finesse weapons spelling probably lol . Those weapons use str or dex whichever is higher . It's just dex is way more usefull plus if you really want to you can buy lots of strength elixirs and take 1 per day to get 23 str or 27 depending on which elixir I don't do that it's a hassle to me but it is op.

Also can use like long swords .

@@_aster_Saying strength doesn’t matter isn’t really accurate, though you definitely don’t need it to make a good dual wielding build. It’s just that if you focus on strength instead of dex you can use a much wider variety of weapons, since you aren’t limited to weapons with the “finesse” quality. IMO this makes strength based dual wielding more fun, but if you want to make the most optimal build then using dex is probably the better way to go.

But if u put one more level into ranger you'd get an extra attack for free and still have a bonus action, why is 4 cleric good there?

5 Barb/4 Battle Master/3 Rouge is the best dual wielder in my opinion. It’s the do anything and everything build.
Wild heart Barb either Eagle or Tiger. Tiger is obvious for the attacks, but Eagle and riposte synergies very well. Plus, if you can dive, you have a ton of maneuvers you can perform.
This works well because you are weaponizing your two attacks, your two bonus actions, your movement (dive) and your reaction with riposte.
