I've just started felting and watching your videos. It has done wonders for my anxiety. I feel calmer and more grounded. Your voice is so welcoming, and ... cosy! Thank you so much.
This video was very interesting, I struggle with faces my heads are always to big. Thank you very much, I loved the way you did the short hair on the faces, you a great .Onto your next video you make a very good teacher, thank you.
Hi, I am a beginning felter and love watching your tutorials. I was looking for two hard flat pieces, like your coasters, to felt things sandwiched in between. I couldn't find anything but came up with something really easy for felting little paws and such. I used the plastic tops that come with hair styling mousse. They allowed me to see more and turn and felt from all angles. This is probably a trick that is already know in the felting world, but it sure made my little rabbit paws much easier to do!
Sounds like an excellent idea and I haven't heard of it, thanks for adding it here, people will read it and give it a go, I'm off to buy some mousse! 😄xx
You do such a fantastic job on your tutorials. You are easy to follow with great close-ups and lots of tips. The best felting site by far!! I recommend you to anyone starting out with this craft.
Thank you, that's so kind and I am constantly trying to improve through better editing (not my strong point), thanks for watching and making such a lovely comment 😊 x
I bought a diy kit to try it. (Hedgehog) It took forever because it wasn’t corded. This is why I usually watch tutorials FIRST. Lol. Your tutorials are helpful, thank you!
I've been binge watching your vides non stop for a few days now and i've learnt so much! i love your videos, thank you so much for sharing your process with us, i'm a lot more confident with my felting now :]
Super videos, I'm a beginner and you explain things so clearly, thank you. My only negative feedback would be the background music on this one, it's quite distracting.
Hi Philippa.I made the Highland cow and was surprised that i managed pretty good. Yours looks more professional then mine, but it's so much fun watching you, that I forgot to go and sleep !!!! Thank you again and again................
I just found your channel and I'm OBSESSED! I've watched about 5 in a row, just now! I've been looking for a hobby that doesn't require loads of natural talent, because I don't feel very talented, artistic or crafty. Felting seems like a great one to pick up, because you can make cute little animals or garlands and given them as gifts, and everyone loves them! I can't wait to start felting! I wish I could come to your country (England?) and take an intensive course with you and learn everything you know! Looking forward to watching all of your videos. Cheers!
I am so not artistic so yes, this is just perfect and there are tons of free tutorials on UA-cam now, you will be able to learn so much on line, hope you enjoy it and thanks for watching! X
You are the best! I'm full of questions!! Lol! Having trouble using and attaching 2 pipe cleaners to make 4 legs on a Highland coo. Any videos or suggestions?
Hi, yes, this video covers pipe cleaner legs or have a look at my wire armature videos if that doesn't work, hopefully you'll see how to do it x ua-cam.com/video/n_YTPBcGSVc/v-deo.html
@@feltsbyphilippa Hi Philippa, great teacher, keep the fantastic videos coming. I thought on your Insta you mentioned a group training/ workshop I am happy to pay. Thank you x
I will be doing some online horse ones soon, just getting some things sorted to start filming (and finishing a few more commissions!). Thanks for your lovely words and for watching x
@@feltsbyphilippa I will definitely look forward to the horses tutorial. I am sure are your viewers appreciate the time you give up to do the videos, I certainly do. Xx
Really enjoyed your videos. Wanted to know about the balls of wool you use. Are they full wool or do you used mixed fiber wool . Have you done a video on the type of balls of knitting wool. I have only just started felting. Thanks Caroline cartwright
Hi, so sometimes I just use knitting wool as coat effects for sheep, so long as it's mostly pure wool it should felt to the body. You can have lots of fun, this video covers using boucle wool x ua-cam.com/video/MPzEosNYOw8/v-deo.html
Love your videos, they have been very helpful! Thank you for making them available. I have a problem when I am doing the smaller bits like ears, they really stick on the underside to the mat, it appears you use the same type of mat. I move the piece every few stabs but it still tends to stick. Any tips?
It happens alot but turning, as you do, helps then as they get more firm use a finer needle, really shallow and go in at 45 degrees to tidy up the fluffy bits. I think a felted woollen mat is maybe the best but it still happens at the beginning. Peel off supporting the ear as you turn it leaves less pulled out bits too. Thanks for watching my videos and hope that helps a bit x
It was probably a 38 triangular or my favourite, a 40 spiral. It's great to buy and try a small range of needles if you can as lots of people love a 38 star but I don't get on with it. I will try and mention numbers next time 🙂
When it starts to break up or be sunken or provide less resistance holding whatever you are felting. Proper woollen mats should last ages but foam ones wear out frequently x
Sorry but I have to make the videos not too long to encourage people to view them. I do have some much longer videos recently so they might help plus you can slow the speed down on UA-cam as you watch x
I know what you mean, I don't want the video to be too long but I have reduced the speeding up in my more recent videos so you can see more clearly, thanks for watching x

Yes you can, you can card it first or use as is, woolfelt xi is a channel that uses tops wool all the time x

how do you know when your mats too worn?
