Good for you for getting a sponsorship!! I am so glad I found Heidefeathers needles at almost the very start of my felting journey and they are definitely worth the money. They are really reasonable for shipping to the states too. Thanks for sharing.
AAAARRRGGGHHH I wish I'd seen this video yesterday! I bought a starter kit on Amazon but much prefer to buy locally/nationally, will order from heidifeathers in future. Thank you for the felting tips!
Well done Philippa, this is the best video for beginners I’ve seen. I don’t think of myself as a beginner now but still I found it very helpful and there is always something more to learn. That’s why this craft is so rewarding 😄. Love Heidi feathers too ❤️💕 Thanks again 🌻
You are so welcome! I have never done a basic shapes video and thought I should add it to my beginner list finally. I did try to make it look nice too and include a few extra hints and tips, thanks for watching even though you are definitely not a beginner! xx
Your videos have helped me so much. They have such great camera angles, audio is also so clear, and what you choose to needle felt and share your knowledge are so appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Been doing the stars using my star cutter I used to use for cake decorating I did years ago no idea that you was doing this tutorial until I checked UA-cam
Great video! You gave some great tips that I will use when I teach someone how to felt for the first time! I wouldn’t mind if you did another beginner video if you showed more 2D stuff and went more in-depth about wool felt and prefelt and what is used for what
Thank you, glad you liked it. Yes, with the 2D felting I am still learning and getting to grips with it plus it's really enjoyable too, I will be trying to do more tutorials on it in the future, thanks so much for watching xx
That would be awesome thank you, I'm trying to make a gift for someone, felting something no one else has seemingly felted before and it's cubed shaped. I think I've done pretty well so far from the videos I could find but any tips from you would be amazing@@feltsbyphilippa
Hi Philippa I am brand new to needle felting and just bought a couple of Ashford kits from Green Living Australia but they don't have much in the way of instructions. Thank goodness I found you. Have watched 20 - 30 of your videos already from beginners mix. I notice you have something on the ends of your single needles (rather than just the tape) - can you buy them as can't seem them on Heidi Feathers site or did you make them? If you made them could you tell me what they are made of and how you did it, otherwise where did you buy them. There doesn't seem to be much in Australia in the way of physical shops, most of the Aussie shops are online. Looking forward to your reply and I'll keep watching all your videos. Thank you Glenys
Hi Glenys, Thank you so much for watching my videos, it really helps the channel. This video here covers that exact question and if you have any more do ask, thanks so much x ua-cam.com/video/Zkgf1ZnV_UM/v-deo.htmlsi=MD0XJSPoiwCFLRen
Lovely video as always Pippa. I’ve been wanting to ask what do you put in the top of your single needles? I’ve used foam clay when sticking 2 together before
Yes, definitely, very easy to start with however definitely double it up as it's not very strong. I have several wire armature videos under my technical list which will help x
Hi, Philippa! I've been away from felting for a while and need more wool. Can you let me know the best place to order core wool, roving and carded wool that is reasonably priced? I'm here in USA.
I'm afraid I can't comment on price as I don't order from the US but there is Living Felt, Sarafina Fibre Art, Lionsgate Farm, Felted Ewe, Felted Sky, Grey Fox Felting, some are on Etsy xx
Whenever I watch your videos as well as enjoying, obviously. I always want a cup of tea 🍵 😊
Love that! Good to drink more tea! xx
I am so thrilled to have found you. I'm brand new and your videos are gold! Thanks so much!
Glad you like them and thanks for watching xx

I’m really excited to start felting.
Hope you like it x
I love how you teach! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you Once again, Phillips. Yours are the best videos to watch and the most precise. You've no idea how helpful this is.
Thank you, really happy you liked it, thank you for your kind words xx

No problem, you might end up with lots of wool after a while so I'm sure it will gets used, hope you enjoy your needle felting journey xx
Wish I had had this tutorial when I started, well done, Pippa!!! It covers everything that one needs to know to get started, so clearly explained.
Thank you, thought I should finally do a basic shapes video, can't believe I haven't done one yet xx
I ordered from Heidi Feathers recently, excellent service!
Glad you liked them, thanks for watching x
I have made all those shapes. I always learn from each of your videos. I take away from this one how to make things easier. Thank you.

Thanks Pippa, a great resource for the beginner. I love the Heidi Feathers needles, well everything in their Etsy store actually 😂
Thank you, they are just the best for needles and so much other stuff too now, thanks for watching x

Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you! Wonderful!
Glad you liked it!
Squares, I need more felting videos demonstrating how to do cubes please
Oh my goodness, they are tricky, yes, I will try and do a short video on that, a great challenge! x

Lovely video as always Pippa.
I’ve been wanting to ask what do you put in the top of your single needles? I’ve used foam clay when sticking 2 together before
Thanks, it's just fimo clay, shape it to my finger hold and then bake it xx
Very nice. For beginners using wire. Should they use pipe cleaners?
Yes, definitely, very easy to start with however definitely double it up as it's not very strong. I have several wire armature videos under my technical list which will help x

What do you have on the ends of your needles? Is it sculpey clay?
It's fimo clay oven baked x
❤
Do you have a cat tutorial! I want to make my grey tabby
I'm afraid not, I'm not good with cats but there are lots of other UA-cam video tutorials on cats, have a search xx
I’m guessing the needles are ok in the oven then😂
Yes, very low temperature x
I was so distracted worrying about your fingers.. where are your guards madamme?!
It's a sliver, pronounced slivver if you know what I mean. Even Nigella Lawson gets it wrong!
Slither means sliding or moving like a snake.
