    This was a wonderful video. Wire wrapping is my least favorite part of needle felting and these tips and tricks were so valuable. Thanks so much.

    This was very helpful. When I made your Angus PDF, I thought my wire was too flimsy, so I added pipe cleaners all over the wire and it has become my favorite way to make the armature. Thank you for your spectacular videos!

    I had this problem last week. I've previously used paper covered wire and been fine but when I tried to use plain wire it kept winding undone. I don't have florist tape to hand but someone advised me to use micropore tape from the first aid kit and this worked a treat, no sticky residue on hands either!

    I always learn from your videos and save them to rewatch. You present things in a methodical, yet fun, manner that I can follow. Thank you. A suggestion: getting correct dimensions and proportions is a very difficult area for me and perhaps others. Many of your fans don’t have the “eye” of an artist. Providing measurements more often would be helpful. I mess up proportions by pulling off too much core and the head I end up with is twice the size of yours and much too large for the body, so I often have to start over. Would it be far too work-intensive for you to provide a one time “basic sheep” (standardized) formula that includes weight of core and dimensions for various body parts? That is, 1 ounce of core for head, 3 ounces for body and 1 ounce per leg will give a fairly consistent 3x4 sheepie. We could then scale up from your basics. I know other factors influence a well proportioned sheep but at least we could start with a standard sheep (or whatever critter). Please just ignore this completely if it’s too much to ask-we will still ❤you!

    • @feltsbyphilippa
      @feltsbyphilippa  Рік тому

      Hi Barbara, yes, proportions is definitely a difficult thing especially in the beginning. I have done a video on how to measure out head, leg, body ratios, I will link it below. I do put all measurements in my PDF's and online courses, they are very thorough plus amounts of wool needed but on here I am mindful of having shorter videos to encourage a better click through rate and increased views and keep people watching. I will definitely take your suggestion forward and be mindful of measurements a bit more. At times I do think about it and promptly forget whilst videoing 😄. Thanks so much for watching and for a great comment xx

    Thanks for the great tips! 👍 The beeswax balm looks like a great product. I've been felting small birds and have a tip for making the legs and claws. If you wrap the wire with floristry tape first, you can then wrap a length of embroidery floss over the top to get a nice finish. The floss comes in a wide range of colours and sticks to the florists tape with only minimal felting needed. Looking forward to seeing Fabian Fox!

    • @feltsbyphilippa

      Oh, that's sounds so great, I will look up embroidery floss, bird legs are quite tricky so that's really helpful, glad you liked the video and fabian fox is nearly finished! X

    Beeswax is used in a lot of cuticle repair type things. So while it may make your hands a little sticky, at least it's helping them as well. Better than the glue stick! 🤣
