@@jakecripe7465 Only asked because you posted it on someone else's comment so it looked like you were asking that person. I can definitely tell you that this kind of job would be well over $20k. If the pain alone costs $1000 per tin/tub. Think about the hundreds of man hours going into sanding and just prepping. Which obviously makes up for most of the job. No idea what rate Robby charges, but autobody restoration certainly isn't cheap. I'd think 40K at least. Which I could be way way off. But I can't imagine it's less than 20. Possibly upwards of 50. Not something you'd want to do unless you know someone that'll drop their rates to help you. Engine conversions are another extremely time consuming, so expensive job. They cost upwards of 100 grand, but that's including all the parts big and small. But with autobody you've got all the same paper they use, the time taken. Day & night working in this case. SO very, very expensive. They're certainly not making a profit. All of this is just my uneducated opinion by the way. Obviously you asked Robby, fat chance of him seeing your question and answering it. Maybe he'll answer it in a future video. Possibly toward the end of the job. I'm curious as to how much it's actually cost them. Not too interested in knowing how much it'd cost someone else if someone else wanted it done. Which saying that, they probably wouldn't do it for anyone else. 👌

You could make that request for any YT content producer.
The whole UT mafia are entertainment channels. Like all enterprises, there's a cost of doing business.
Gas station, restaurant, YT ... the real question is, do revenues exceed expenses?
If Robby has $50k invested in the various builds, do the millions of current and future views lead to increased business?
My guess is that the answer is not only yes, but YES.

You could expect about $80k-$100k maybe more on a build of this caliber. Which is nuts for a Suzuki but hey it's for a good cause.

      @@skilletpan5674 oh yeah, most definitely
I keep mentioning direct marketing support for their actual day jobs, but at a certain threshold, the entertainment flow itself represents a revenue stream
I think tucker might be the actual entertainment savvy guy out of the entire roster. When Matt started it was a bit of a Lark, but then to the surprise of everyone he became a legitimate YT star
So, as you said, at that point there's a zillion angles to exploit. The most obvious is product placement, but there are many others
It must be fun for the insider circle to realize they could actually beat Discovery at their own game simply by continuing to produce real authentic content

Robby, I cannot express how special it is that you recorded that video. I’m sure that it brought some comfort to his family, and most importantly to his wife. I can empathize with her feelings and her loss. My wife of 25 years passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 30th. I can tell you that kind words and kind actions really do have a positive impact, and are helpful while grieving. You’re very right that our time here is short and take the time to let the people in your life know how special they are to you. Hug your family, hug your friends, and take comfort in the fact that your deeds and actions have a positive impact well beyond what you may be aware of.
I’ve been following the build of the golden nugget, and during this time of immense sadness, I can look at your videos (and Matt’s too - he got me hooked on the doings of you guys) and I can feel some normalcy for a few minutes.
Thanks again. Take care of yourself and take care of your beautiful family.

In my mind I could never have imagined that there was so much work involved in just the painting alone on a vehicle let alone all the other prep work I have seen on this project. Hats off to all of you for your attention to detail and dedication to perfecting your craft plus your ingenuity to invent ways to overcome abnormal obstacles that pop up. One question, I understand the paint for this is high priced, is this a typical level of finish that is done one all your vehicles/projects? Or are there lower levels of quality of finish. You know, like a level 1-2-3 or however you might classify different jobs.

Hi Marthijn, it's three steps. Blow off any loose contaminates, tack is using a tack cloth that is a bit sticky to remove any dust or other small contaminates, and the static gun lays down charged particles that the primer/paint/etc sticks better to. As I'm not a pro, this is just my understanding of the process, but he does reference it in an earlier video. Hope that helps!
