    Worked like a charm! The trick is to be generous with the heat gun, of course, while trying not to burn yourself.

    Been watching a lot of wrapping videos on UA-cam. Never seen a removal. Didn't know it was this hard.
    Can you do a video on removing wrap from the front fender, mirror and door handle please.

    I bet you miss the natural heating of the Florida sun for these large surface removals. Quick tip: Tie your electrical cords like the first part of a shoelace knot before plugging them together and they won't pull apart accidently.

    Thank you for the info, wrapping is definitely expensive than painting.

    Wow, that's some workout, Christian. You don't need to go to the fitness center after unwrapping this car.LOL

    Hey Christian, when removing film from large surfaces, the film can be cut into strips of 4-5 inches. In this case, the film is removed without too much effort! Try it;)
    A note for beginners who read this: It is very important to cut the film without cutting through it!

    • @CKWraps
      @CKWraps  6 років тому +1

      Yes I know that but I didn't want to display that when there are so many beginners watching.

    The Wrap doesn't look bad/worn out/faded, Why is the owner removing it? :?

    • @Brakzillaa
      @Brakzillaa 4 роки тому +2

      Thats because it is over 2 years old, meaning following the 3rd year the vinyl is prone to cracking and drying out, making it harder to remove and can even damage the paint its meant to protect. Its best to remove the vinyl before the 3rd year, and just put on brand new vinyls.

    The car looks really great for going two years wtihout a wash. Is overheating the paint itself and possibly removing it with the wrap a concern?

  • @AmitThakorlovemeorhateme

    when you apply the vinyl wrap, to cut the vinyl when you apply it, do you use sharp knife to cut it into shape cut off all the edges? wouldnt that cut into the metal and the paint?

    Hi Christian, u mentioned ceramic coating the wrap. Does that process harden the wrap? If so, does it make removing the wrap difficult? Love ur videos btw ...keep them coming...

    • @CKWraps
      @CKWraps  6 років тому +1

      It shouldn't actually make the wrap more difficult to remove. I'll be removing mine in a couple of weeks so we'll find out soon. Mines been installed for about 4 months and with the coating on it

    The problem is how do you make a product that is durable stays where you want it and then is easy to remove, you can't it's not possible at this point in time hopefully the future will be and this vinyl doesn't last very long.

    I'm guessing this removal gets harder if the wrap is on longer? Buying a police car with the doors and roof wrapped. About 7 years.

    I removed my 3 year old roof wrap in the 90 degree hawaii sun....super easy. Came off in 1 piece. Key is wait until mid day. No heat gun needed. Of course this depends on the quality of the wrap also. Not chinese cheap ass wrap.

  • @Change_this

    Question... Does the adhesive from the vinyl wrap damage the car's clear coat??
    Or after removing the car I assume I would need to clay bar the whole car when washing back....

    • @NyBasim91
      @NyBasim91 4 роки тому +1

      I'd say it's a case by case thing, also depends on the strength of the glue used in the vinyl. The vinyl i used did remove some of my clear coat when being pealed. Granted my car is also 20 years old and it was the original clear coat paint
      Edited: to fix typo

      @@NyBasim91 yeah.... I was wondering about that, I'll just have it painted instead.

      No it will not. It’s just adhesive. I’ve removed wrap off of a van from over 8+ years of it being on and all you need is a bottle of heavy duty adhesive remover to remove all the glue

    Some suggestion. take off your ring before touch your customer's cars.. obviously people wrap their car because it's expensive (to them). so by removing your ring, you show your respect to their car (plus remove their worries you scratch them. lol)
