How to Set up your powder coat gun to spray a perfect cloud

- Had a question about setting up the gun to give the proper cloud, or pattern, there is a lot that goes into this and it will differ based on your gun. If you have an eastwood for example you have no adjustment beyond air input. With more professional guns you can control total air and conveying air as well as tips on the gun.

Remember all guns are different all air settings are different, so play around with yours to get the right setting!
We use a cone tip, sprays out hits the cone and disperses from there. We crank the powder, keep the air input low due to the hard edges and flat panels of the tool heads.

Everyone’s fired! I’ve been getting away with the basic preset modes on my gun pretty good, probably longer than I should. Can you give some examples of why I would want to adjust the settings and want a bigger cloud or a smaller could? Could be helpful for the group or even another Wednesday Wisdom. Should specify, I have an Optiflex Pro B.

Always appreciate the Info and advice! Also had a question can you powder coat brand new chrome wheels without hurting chrome in baking? Have seen wheels done that are chrome but wasn’t sure how they get it to stick being so slick of surface and if it would hurt chrome
You can, just blast and scuff where needed. We offer no guarantee on chrome parts but have not heard of any failures.
What is your opinion on the Eastwood PSC-250 gun ?
