- I built a spray booth for powdercoating that work better than I had planned. It is based on a shelving unit that I found on the street! Follow along to get some ideas on how to build a custom booth for your shop.
Stuff I used:
Dewalt Jigsaw: amzn.to/3fpBrZf
Dewalt Circular Saw: amzn.to/2SLKrOO
Box Fan: amzn.to/2YGQZC7
Air Filter: amzn.to/2SKS2gx
Camera: amzn.to/2L3yWOt
Microphone: amzn.to/2YKaKbN
I can't say it enough...this booth is amazing! Compared to how I used to do this when I coated in my small shed, it is a night and day difference! Thanks for watching, and I hope this helps some of you.
Very simple build indeed and serves it purpose. My booth is very similar, instead of the 2x4, I used a piece of 1/4 × 1" metal bar attached like your 2x4. Reason for that was I can ground the bar at the top and use metal dog leash type hooks and slide them wherever. This way everything is grounded. I did like your use of the light position, may need to use this idea as well. Good luck on your projects.
Good idea, good video, good sense of humor as well. Thanks
What a fantastic idea .you are very talented great video
Nice build! It was a bonus, finding the shelf for free.
I used this as a guide to build my spray booth. However on the fans instead of using weather stripping, I removed the back grating and used those screws to attach the fan to the back of the wall. I tightened these screws up to pull the fan frame up tight against the wall, thus not needing the weather stripping. Also I used bolts with washers and nuts to hold the walls to the shelf frame.
Very nice!
Nice build! definitely gonna do something similar, thanks for the ideas! Just a warning: you need the fans to have explosion proof motors for regular paint. Normal motors can spark and ignite aerosols.
Good job man 👍
This ... this is great. I dont have the words. Well, I do, but YT comment section couldnt do it justice, I simply have too many curse words that I would like to use for emphasis. Im impressed, every vid I watch of you, seeing what you do, always with economy in mind, spending where capital is important and not spending where it is okay to skimp a bit on quality. You have a great mind, Ill say that. Where ever you work Im sure you dont get paid enough. Im wanting to start powdercoating. 2 main hurdles are oven and clean up. This vid very nicely assuages my clean up hurdle. Now, what about that amazing looking walk in oven you got? Anything you can share about that, please😁
Perfecto!
Good stuff mate
Do you have a video of you building the oven? And a list of it?
Perfect timing! I just had a steel delivery show up for a rolling booth that will sit over my re-purposed kitchen oven when it's not in use. Making the box out of plywood and Melamine like you did, but also making it removable from the steel frame if I ever run into problems.
Awesome
I can tell you those green filters will not catch the powder...it will blow right through those and your fans will be covered in powder as well as your shop! Don’t ask how I know! Lol
do you have a specific parts list !!!
What about your heat cabinet for the powder coat? I’d like to see that.
Love it. Awesome setup. I need to build something similar. But mine needs to fold so I can put it behind my oven.
Awesome job man, thanks for your military service (as noticed in the flags). Can you put a link or give the name of the powder coating system you are using in the video.
