Just all out fun from the Dynamic Duo from start to finish! Great reaction as usual M! The Casino scenes were absolute bonkers! Can't wait for the next one!
O
Jackie Chan was 47 when this movie released.
In real Life Chris Tucker was a very good friend of Michael Jackson
No need to watch the third movie.
You can thank me later 👍
I wish she'd shown her reactions to the outtakes. My favorite has to be "I guess he's not going to be in Rush Hour 3" 🤣
Agreed, though I gotta stick with the random phone call to Chris during the airport scene as my fav. "No, you can't talk to Jackie Chan!" :D
@@thephenome1462 we’re filming! You gonna waste all our film! 😂
They should have used that in the movie. It's a way better line than "nice kick Lee"
Mine was when Jackie tried to jump through that small window in the casino the outake he hits the wall face first
“Damn! He ain’t gonna be in rush hour 3!”
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are one of the best duos I've ever seen in a movie (along with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover's duo in Lethal Weapon)
sammo hung arsenio hall
And Robert Redford and Paul Newman.
Old classic stuff some kids need to do homework in this one.
Or even Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy (48 Hrs) before that. :-)
These "buddy cop" movies are always fun.
@@ianchristopher9422 Thanks grandpa, let's go watch Burgess Meredith and George Burns as well! Or is it only team up buddy cop stuff? Turner and Hooch!
Gene wilder and Richard Pryer
Fun Fact: In this movie, Jackie Chan was actually 46 years old.
47, no? 1954
@@elv1980Close enough
Carter isnt useless at all, he does his part too and helps solve the cases. Just because Jackie does most of the physical stuff doesnt make Carter useless.
Facts
He streets smart 😂
He's definitely the mouthpiece 🗣
the fact that he always knows a person, knows where to go, the people’s person makes him extremely useful.
Yes he was funny but dsnt mean he is foolish tho. He is even brave as we sa many times he never afraid of fighting
I was waiting for the outtakes at the end 🙁
“He ain’t gon’ be in Rush Hour 3”
Damn!
“After all we’ve been through? Rush Hour 1, Rush Hour 2
Me too!
GEFILTE FISH!!!!!
Don't forget "the best blooper to ever blooper":
CALL ME BACK LATER: 7 O'CLOCK! 😅😅😅😅😅
Rush Hour 2 is the best one. Grew up watching it on repeat, to the point my sister, cousins, and I can quote the entire movie. Word for word.
"I'm on vacation, man! And I want some mushu!"
Mushu you hungry
@@elishawilson5342
no, not “mushu”. “mu-shu!”
Not gonna lie, Rush Hour movies have always made me want to try Camel's hump.
The bamboo scaffold fight inspired the one in Shang-Chi. The stunt team for that also worked with Jackie.
I KNEW they used that scene as inspiration!
That's true!
@@averysteffen1732 I totally called it, I knew I recognized that from somewhere!!!
All I could thing was Rush Hour 2 when I saw that scene!
No waaaaay!!!!!😮
Chris and Jackie are the best of friends to this day because of these movies 😁
And we’re all still waiting for Rush Hour 4
Did you fall victim to one of the classic blunders?
The most well-known of which is "Never start a land war in Asia", but just slightly less well-known is "Always watch the credits during a Jackie Chan film"
Inconceivable!
@@joshuaspinney3208 you keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means
He ain't gonna be in Rush Hour 3
@@peoples2296 I can’t watch the movie without expecting him to say that right after 😂
Meta
As a big Godzilla fan growing up, Carter's line about how Asian people be trippin' when he shows up had me absolutely dying when we saw this in theaters. It still gets a good chuckle too
I love Ziyi Zhang (Hu Li) in this movie. She plays a villain so well, rocks a red lipstick and makes a great femme fatale. She was also great in Godzilla: King Of The Monsters as Dr. Ilene Chen and Ling Chen
She’s in Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon🥰
That was her??? No way
@@ckelcro Yup. Ziyi Zhang was one of the Monarch scientists who were working to bring an understanding of the Titans, including Godzilla AND the twin sister. They're modernized interpretations of the Shobijin, the fairies who revered Mothra as a goddess.
House of Flying Daggers is my favorite of her films.
She was also good in Hero and The Grandmaster. Honestly, great in everything that she's in.
I grew up on this and other Jackie Chan movies so it’s great to see yourself and so many other reactors finally getting into rush hour!!
Everyone should have a Chris Tucker-esque (the character) friend. Yes they exist.
So u can have them for your entertainment…🤨
I've said "that's the joke" so many times watching this.
She doesn't catch on as well😅
You should also watch "Shanghai Noon" and "Shanghai Knights" with Jackie and Owen Wilson.
Second that
Absolutely!
Agreed!
Owen Wilson's character barely did a single thing in the 2nd one
They somehow made open displays of racism work and be funny in a way that most people don’t have an issue with. And for 3 movies back to back to back hits that’s crazy to me
Because, it's just words & context is everything. Clearly, there was no malice behind anything. Things are just insanely sensitive now...sadly.
Twitter wasn't around in 2002 lol plus ppl in general know Jackie Chan movies aren't intentionally racist to be mean
Racism?
@@Brooklyn_Bleek That’s the key word that changes everything: Malice. People nowadays don’t have the radar for that now and think words themselves are all it takes to offend
Some one-liners are a little eye-roll worthy, but for the most part it works pretty well. Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker's chemistry definitely helps make it more light-hearted and you can tell they just enjoyed it
Rush hour 2 is definitely the best of the three films. doesn't take anything away from the other 2 because they're all good, but number 2 is more memorable
Rush hour 2 is the best for me too. When i first saw 3, i thought it was ok. but as time go by, part 3 was also a very good movie.
All three of these movies are just great. Jackie and Chris have wonderful chemistry on screen.
Carter isn't useless at all he's more important than what people think
"Mans destroying a classic!" I've used that line so many times when my friends sing just cause of this movie
You have to watch Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights. Basically the same movie if Jackie Chan hooked up with Owen Wilson in the wild west, instead of a cop in L.A. In the first one Jackie Chan is an Imperial Guard who travels to cowboy America to rescue a kidnapped Chinese Princess. It's great but the second one is better, Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson go to England to recover the Imperial Seal that got stolen by a British lord.
Rush Hour 2 is a classic! Slightly better than the first one and one of the best action-comedies of all time
Disagree, it was equal to the first.
@@nsasupporter7557 The simple fact it has Don,Cheadle in it doing, kung fu with Jackie makes it instantly better
"Jamone" is a Michael Jackson expression, a single word accent to the vocal.
Rush Hour 2 is definitely the best of the trilogy.
I love Jeremy Piven's cameo! "Let's put a dead animal on you!"
Rush Hour 2 will always have a special place in my heart. It was one of the few movies I had as a kid and watched it all the time lmao.
Chris Tucker's hilarious lines and comedy, with Jackie Chan's incredible martial arts and performance made this movie a classic!
Fun Fact: After Michael Jackson watched the movie he did call Chris Tucker and told him that he kicked with the wrong foot
Then they became best friends ever since
This is my favorite of the trilogy and my favorite Jackie Chan film of all time
chris tucker is a vibe ...
4:27 Chris was actually speaking Cantonese with an American English accent, "Listen up, I want you all to go home and sleep... right now!" But of course, to make it funny, they had Jackie translate it differently with the samurai swords.
23:46 That is not broken nor American Cantonese. It's not even Cantonese or any Chinese language. It's just gibberish.
223:01 Don Cheadle speaks Cantonese well here and is one of my favorite scenes in this movie.
That was one of his two requests to appear in the film. Also, that scene was the very first scene shot.
Girl that’s how Michael pronounces come on
“SHAMONE”
If you were a fan of the first rush hour there is no way you're not going to be a fan of how great this sequel is because you can see that they are way more comfortable with each other in this movie than in the first one
The karaoke scenes are hilarious 😂
Whats with the fuckin hating on Carter the whole movie
She racist bruh
That bamboo scaffolding is actually amazingly strong, in addition to being a sustainable replacement for metal scaffolds :)
The flexibility allows it to bend instead of shattering under transverse forces :)
Rush Hour 2 is probably the best of the trilogy in terms of action, as they really stepped up the fight scenes and set-pieces. Overall though, I still think the first one is the best movie in the series, as the comedy, action, and story all feel tighter as a whole. The comedy in the first one definitely feels more fast-paced, as the one-liners come a mile-a-minute. I always felt the comedy seemed so much more forced in the sequels; the one-liners don’t seem as fresh, and kinda rely on “the obvious joke” for lack of a better expression. 2 & 3 are still fun for me (2 has my favorite action scenes), but overall #1 is the best overall package.
Rush Hour 1 had the best story. While 2's story was all over the place, but that didn't matter cuz chemistry between Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker was amazing and makes up for it, but would've been a perfect movie if the story was better.
Idk I really liked the comedy in the second one as much as I did in the first. I do agree that the third film's comedy felt forced almost all throughout the film though.
Even the movie thinks the first one is the best because they essentially copied the plot beats. lol
Doesn’t have to be low key, many folks liked the sequel better. It was a sequel done very right.
Agreed it was a great movie. I love these two movies and Shanghai Noon and Knights which are also great.
I definitely prefer Rush Hour 2. I liked the 1st, but the 2nd just flowed a lot better and the chemistry was already established. It was able to just jump right into without any of the introductions. I love this movie and I always had the DVD on repeat because it was one of those movies you could watch any time. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are a great duo.
Definitely a winner. A diverse cast done right. Funny. Story on point. Pacing on point. Looking forward to Rush Hour 3
I love Rush Hour 3
Thank you Mary 🍒 for reacting to this My day is now complete ✌️❤️😚☺️🥰😍
One nice thing about these movies is that Carter is using more and more kung fu moves as they go along; he’s learning from Jackie ;)
I prefer Rush Hour 1 because of the focus on LA (being someone who grew up in that area). But from a film critique standpoint I think 2 is better. More complex story, and better action scenes.
Surprisingly, I thought both 1 and 2 were equal. But 3 was terrible
_"No wonder you mad!"_ 🤣
Yeah, Rush Hour 2 was always my fav. ☺️
Rush Hour 2 has some hilarious bloopers in the credits. I remember seeing it in theaters. Also Rainbow Roll is a sushi roll.
These two are hands down my favorite movie duo! They are perfect together!
Fun fact:
At min 30:50 , they dubbed what Ricky Tan said as _tell _them to get rid of "Lee's_ friend"
What he actually says in Cantonese is "skin that N-word alive, dammit"
I am surprised they let that dialog fly in the script , probably because most Americans will never know
Does it make anyone else mad she doesn’t understand Chris Tuckers humor 75% of the time? Lol
Yea man I noticed that as well
yea for some reason when it comes to him she instantly hangs on every little word he says
@@ummm385 she clearly racist
Fun Fact: The name of the casino, Red Dragon, is the title of the Silence of The Lambs prequel, also directed by Brett Ratner.
“I didn’t know it was over 3 centuries” it wasn’t 😂
He was causing all the commotion in the casino to distract people from lee.
The old lady saying "Move aside, Kobe" to Carter always gets me lol.
I like Shanghai noon and Shanghai knights with Jackie chan and Owen Wilson. A bit of a similar dynamic between the two characters as carter and Lee. Also, speaking on Jackie’s age in this movie and the fact he still moves well. He did a film called the foreigner in 2017 at the age of 63 and he still kills it. It’s a lot more of a serious role for Jackie than he usually does too and he plays the part incredibly well. I definitely recommend checking these out.
This is by far the best of the trilogy. A true timeless classic.
2022 And is still my favorite.I loooooove Chris, nothing more to add. From the Dominican Republic.
I forgot how much I enjoyed these films. You made me remember how many funny moments there were. I'm glad you enjoyed them. And as always, thank you. x
23:16 martial artists when learning styles can tell who someone has learned from just from a specific move. Personal experience. It's also pretty cool when it happens only to find out you were taught by the same person, just at different times. That's one of the things I love about martial arts that can unify people from different walks of life
Never ever leave before watching Jackie Chan bloopers.
The reason Carter was bringing all of that attention to him at the casino was a distraction
You have to give carter a little break cause although lee adapted to having a partner a little better the first rush hour is their first time having a partner because of what happened to their dads so they’re still adapting to it
I just love that Mary knows return of the mack lol
Ziyi Zhang! You've got to see Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, or Memoirs of a Geisha someday. You'll have a much......much bigger sense of appreciation for her appearances, although this one is villianous lol. I'm glad you enjoyed!!
4:02 haha that's how Michael Jackson actually says "come on".. like for real, in his songs
I like how Jackie Chan when filming these movies someone had like this giant safety ladder for him while he was doing this insane high in the air stunt, he was like "you americans....so safe" and laughed. Whenever the stunts start getting crazy for these movies they are filming at Jackie Chans own studio with his stunt men he hired because he refused to do crazy stunts with the Americans teams.
Rush Hour and Rush Hour 2 are two of my favorites movies, all time. Glad to see you got around to this film to enjoy it. Its a classic for me and I can literally watch it for the rest of my life and still laugh.
Yes, surprisingly 2 was just as good as the first… which is rare. But 3 was terrible
"Slow down baby" is one of the best lines in the film lol
Only best friends can tell each other racist jokes without hurting each other's feelings 😂
I think people need to learn the difference between stereotypes and racism
@@RussellDale6019 how ?
“He’s confident for no reason,” literally describes every American ever
This movie is definitely more hilarious than the first one
Oh, your reactions are so on point and funny, keep them coming please. :)
Rush Hour two is the best of the trilogy..Good story, comedy, action and interesting character.
4:03 "cha mone" is what michael jackson used to say...
Jackie Chan: you should also check out Shanghai Noon
Zawsze sprawia mi dużą przyjemność oglądanie Twoich reakcji, i śmiałem się i płakałem przy Tobie, dziękuję :) Jestem Twoim wiernym fanem, pozdrawiam z Polski :)
Chris Tucker was friends with Michael Jackson in real life and was in one of his music videos
You Rock My World
@@the_varunrvel That's the one
I don' know why the subtitles stated that Zhang Ziyi's character spoke Cantonese when she was speaking Mandarin, but the phonetics are completely different. But yes this film was fun.
Jackie Chan always stated he never understood what these movies were about, but despite that they have been amongst his most successful movies released in the west
The first one is fine, but I’m happy that it did well enough so that we got this sequel. So much fun!!!
Yes, surprisingly the second was just as good as the first. But the 3rd was garbage
I think Carter annoys you so you think he is useless, but he is far from it. He makes mistakes, but he fights and shoots and takes out enemies his own way. He and Lee become great friends, maybe even like brothers. Also Lee could definitely have found a way up that truck, remember him scaling the wall in the first one. I think he just figured it would be easier to take another approach, Carter should have helped him lol. I think you take this movie too serious, Carter is this way for humor. I never found it annoying just funny. I think my first Jackie Chan movie was Rumble in the Bronx, such a good movie, and Mr. Nice Guy.
Carter is too obvious funny
Amazing combination between Jackie Chan & Chris Tucker is pure comedy gold
That would be my dream to go karaoke with you mary also Mary you can sing 🥰✌️❤️
26:50 The funniest part. Jeremy Piven is hilarious 😂😂😂😂
I remember when I saw this in theaters when it first came out when Chris Tucker said he can get him a new laptop with the DVD player I remember laughing so hard because back then those where really expensive
It is not $1000 dollar
Brilliant sequel. Seen all 3 at the cinema, always a good watch. Favourites 2,1,3. 3 has good moments but they should have made it a few years earlier than they did
I can't wait Rush Hour 4
This movie couldn’t be made today people are to soft you can tell as she complains about stereotypes
26:40 Macking out doesn't mean "make out." 🤣 It just means just like he he said...to "look fly." It means to dress well and look good.
Detective Yu is one of my favorite jokes of all time. Good memories with my dad seeing this.
Don Cheadle is a Oscar winner for Hotel Rwanda, and was great as a murderous thug in Our Of Sight, which had lots of stars in its cast.
No mention of Ocean's Eleven? Criminal!
mary remember when you watch jackie chan movies ,that there are usually bloopers and outtakes while end credits are rolling, this movie has some really funny outtakes!
my fave line in this movie is when jackie goes "what does mean 'mack out'?" lmao gets me everytime. theres so many good lines in this one though. probably the best of the series.
These movies are a treasure. My childhood was enhanced tremendously.
The first and second were treasures, yes. But Not the third one
Jackie Chan is an expert in the Drunken Fist which is why he is so good with environmental fighting
Would definitely love more reactions to Jackie Chan movies.
(In My Michael Jackson Impression): "Chris. I've Seen Your Movie Rush Hour 2 And You're Kicking With The Wrong Leg. Hehehehe. Stop Making Me Look Bad And Dangerous" 😊.
22:46 his name is Don Cheadle. He played James Rhodes aka War Machine from the MCU
Worked a movie theater at the time this came out. The movie company knew they had gold in this and negotiated for better rates from the theater companies. Don't know if it was publicized but the theater companies were threatening to not show the film. The theater companies blinked and gave them whatever they wanted.
Rush Hour 2 was widely considered the best in the trilogy.
15:05 i Love people that dont know how VFX and Movie Editing works 😂😂😂 cute😊
Please tell me you watched the bloopers during the credits? Some of the best parts of these movies.
Have you seen Shanghai Noon and its sequel Shanghai Nights? It’s Jackie Chan again, but this time with Owen Wilson and they’re cowboys. It’s amazing
You shoood watch Shanghai Noon with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson! It’s another comedy duo classic!
