That's reason why Detective James Carter didn't want to have teamwork with partners because of his father was killed while his father's partner didn't do anything to back his father up. Detective James Carter have trust issues. I always suspect that Detective James Carter's father's partner is corrupt cop and killed him like Ricky Tan killed Lee's father.
Released this very week in 1998. Once Lethal Weapon finished it's franchise, Rush Hour was the next Buddy Cop phenom around the corner. Jackie Chan, the world's biggest action star looking to make a bigger impact on American audiences. Jackie had made 4 films with American studios (1980-1985) and although with moderate success, wasn't quite a star in the U.S. yet. But by the 1990s, his films were on video and cable while certain notable films were being re-released into Americans theatres:Rumble In The Bronx, Supercop, Jackie Chan's First Strike, Operation Condor, Mr. Nice Guy and The legend of Drunken Master. Chris Tucker of ATL, Georgia was among the up and comers' in the comedy game with stand-up performances and a few films. dir. Brett Ratner signed on to make Rush Hour after working with Tucker in Money Talks (1997). Tucker was not the original choice for James Carter. Wesley Snipes was the closest to being involved and instead worked on making BLADE (same summer). Chan & Tucker turned out the action comedy of the year with great chemistry, good sequences and laughs. Legendary composer Lalo Schifrin with another great score. The Def Jam soundtrack was one of the biggest of the decade. RIP to Elizabeth Peña (Detective Tania Johnson), Philip Baker Hall (Captain Bill Diel), Chris Penn (Clyde), Judo Gene LeBell (Taxi Driver) and Tom Wilkinson (Juntao). Your gonna love the sequels and don't miss any of those outtakes.
Check out the movies Rush Hour 2(2001), Rush Hour 3(2007), Money Talks(1997), National Security(2003), All About The Benjamins(2002), and Big Momma’s House(2000).
3 parts of this movie that really make me crack up laughing are: 1. When Carter starts dancing like Michael Jackson in the middle of the street after blowing the car up 2. When Lee and Carter are bonding and practicing disarming techniques while Edwin Starr's song "War" plays in the background 3. When Carter says "I know that ain't the bomb. Get that bomb away from me." Towards the end
And trust me, the blooper reels for the remaining two movies are just as funny when it comes to the slip-ups with the dialogue. Also, RIP to Elizabeth Peña, Chris Penn and Tom Wilkinson
''Kiss of the Dragon'' with Jet Li and Bridget Fonda is also a good martial arts movie though rather more serious and set in Paris. Rush Hour is such a fun movie. Jackie Chan is fabulous.

Rush Hour 2 is my favorite of them all.

If you're okay with subtitles, I'd recommend Jackie Chan's Police Story trilogy.
@ 8:02 ...... RIP Tito Jackson
Rush hour i love this movie i'm so happy 😂
As entertaining the introduction scene of Carter is, C4 cannot be detonated by gunshot.
I gonna be honest Rush Hour is hilarious and I love it
War, what is it good for? Absolutely Nothing 🎵.
