    I discovered your channel and your videos by chance yesterday, and I am fascinated!!! Your videos are the perfect balance of information paired with cool graphics and pointers to specific scientific studies. All easy to understand for the average person and for someone like me who adores science (I am a molecular biologist). Also, the pace at which you speak & your tone of voice are really enjoyable. Great information and great job on your videos. Keep up the good work Doctor.

      I'm not sure what is going on with my feet, especially my left one. It's been happening off and on for about a year and a half now, but more often lately. My feet cramp up so bad that my toes curl upward usually at night, and my left lower leg side muscle cramps so tight it takes about 15 minutes to go away. Also, I get this crazy buzzing/tingling in my left leg, and muscle twitches in both. I have worked in a factory for 30 years standing on concrete floors. I think my work shoes are not the right fit. The cramping doesn't worry me as much as the tingling does. Any input would be appreciated?

    Really useful video. I have a lot of issues and had some periods of taking magnesium. I was told citrate is better for the brain, and malate for legs and muscles. Given that I have IBS however, I did find sometimes citrate can cause some issues there as you mentioned in your video.
    I'm now hoping to start taking it again because I have had bad issues with fatigue, depression and very much Muscular fatigue and pain and had read a study proving its importance in the muscle and that muscles require more energy to relax than they do to tense.
    Anyways a humble and gracious thank you and I've liked and subscribed 😊

    Very informative video! I have one concern regarding citrate that showed up during my vast amount of magnesium research, it stated: Safety concern: Citrate increases absorption of aluminum from antacids/Maalox, medications, aluminum foil/pans/cans, etc. Toxicity Symptoms: Bone pain, muscle weakness, decreased cognitive function including neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, dementia, & memory loss. I feel that this is certainly worth mentioning. I find it a bit alarming and a safety concern that people should be aware of due to the amount of products containing aluminum. You stated that you take citrate daily, so I wondered if you have ever heard of this safety concern?

    • @DrTomBiernacki
      @DrTomBiernacki  8 місяців тому

      Glad that my video was informative. Thanks for the great response!
      All compounds and liquids that are acidic my potentially interact with metals like aluminum - it could be citrus juices, vinegar, coca cola, and many others.
      You should not be concern about magnesium citrate as a daily doses are very small and insignificant compere to amounts of other acidic foods consumed daily.
      If possible, we would appreciate a quick and easy rating from you, and a good rating makes a BIG difference for us!

      Thank you for your reply. However, to me taking citrate daily along with ingesting/using other types of acidic products could put people at risk for toxicity. For instance, many people consume beverages daily from aluminum cans, not to mention the other products. I personally believe that magnesium glycinate is the best and safest form for most everyone to take daily. Plus, it's highly absorbable with little to no laxative effect.

    @DrTomBiernacki Hi Doc, I just found you and I'm so happy!
    I have a question, I recently bought a bottle of Triple Magnesium Complex Swanson and it says each pill is 400 mcg (from magnesiums oxide, citrate and asparate )
    How much of each isn't listed. You didn't mention ASPARTATE at all. I'm thinking I paid good money for 🤔 I'm anemic with health issues and I would like to know about what I bought. Please.

      Magnesium aspartate is a magnesium salt of aspartic acid that is commonly used as a mineral supplement. It displays high oral bioavailability and water solubiltiy compared to other magnesium salts such as magnesium citrate, magnesium carbonate and magnesium oxide.

      Liquid magnesium glycinate has some distinct advantages over capsules. For one, it's easier to take, especially for those who have difficulty swallowing pills. Liquid supplements are also more readily absorbed by the body, as they don't have to be broken down by the digestive system like capsules or tablets.

      Yes, magnesium has to transform to water soluble form to be accessible to our bodies. Stomach acid plays an important role in this process. However, you may help your body by eating or drinking acidic fruits or juices while taking you magnesium. Citrus, cranberry, blackberry, pineapple fruits and juices are a good choice.
