When I was growing up, we were the only Asian family in a southeast Texas town. My oldest brother was very thin and frail, and was picked on and bullied mercilessly. It was a straight, white, Christian, conservative, male, who stood up for my brother and fought his fights for him, because my brother couldn't fight. He was a lifelong friend, until my brother's untimely death 15 years ago. Can we please get past race/gender/ethnicity and focus on "content of character".

As a single white male in my 60s, I know discrimination. I have been discriminated all of my life. I have been passed over in my career to , minorities, despite being more qualified. It really sucked, but I never quit or gave up.

I am Male, White and Hetrosexual, and I am told I am the worst thing on earth, I have white privilege, toxic masculinity and apparently I should believe I can have babies and that my belief in the family and Christian values is the problem with the world. A lot of black and American raised Asian women say it too. There are far fewer Asian women (1.5%~) and black women (7.5%~) than white women. Don’t get me wrong. I tell all of my boys to ignore all American women. Some feel like they are better, but they were all raised in this country which really only sees the value men provide as resources and they do everything they can to extract it out of us via family court laws, taxes, me2, false r@p3 allegations, etc … there are a handful of US women who actually say anything good about men. I can count them on my hand
I just want you to know many of us women are so thankful for our men (and all men). Masculinity is a trait we highly value. I , like you, value Christians. I sent my son to college 5 years ago from Florida to Minnesota!!! I remember thinking I have ruined my son! After he came home for Thanksgiving the first year he was gone he was not the same person! It was scary…. It was sad! Who took him under his wing up there you ask?? A gay pastor! Never in my life had I seen or heard of such a thing! My son was gone on a football scholarship living “The American Dream.” These idiots tried to indoctrinate him and change every single value I instilled in him…. THANK GOD FOR A STRONG FOUNDATION!
It's not just colleges, the world will do that. I wondered about 6 months into 2020, "where are all the MEN in this country"? I wanted to scream at the lunacy of masking kids and the nightmare that they created for school children (among other things). I don't have kids, but would have gone nuts if I did, esp if they were testing them constantly for Covid and all the other nonsense. The whole country was emasculated... a few people stood up, but for the most part everybody went along with allowing our whole way of life to be held hostage under Fauci for an utterly sick and stupid amount of time, with all the destructive psychological impacts. This could not have happened if as a society, men were healthy emotionally and psychologically, and assertive. Best wishes to you and your son.

The elephant in the room is the male crime rate, which is astronomical compared to women. I'm no feminist and am far from anything that could be called woke but men have serious issues with violence and aggression.
I'm not saying that male criminality is due to toxic masculinity because frankly I think that is a stupid term and not necessarily reflective of actual societal issues, but that doesn't change the fact that male criminality is a serious issue that needs to be addressed.

My husband had impeccable grades in high school,( near straight A's), beyond that he produced one of the highest SAT scores in his suburban high school in 1987. He was
turned down for M.I.T. admissions. Before the "women's movement," M.I.T. would have been recruiting him. He still went on a started his own tech company and is doing fine.

Ashley Babbitt was unarmed and was in the proximity of heavily armed riot police who did not view her as a threat. Michael Byrd unilaterally decided to shoot her and was promoted to captain for his ‘heroic’ actions. This was the same guy who left his loaded gun in a public restroom. 🤮
I was going to say that President Trump did attend the funeral of every police officer killed on J6. Exactly how is he being hypocritical? Just because there were none? What exactly did she expect him to do? He was far more concerned about Ashley Babbitt and those arrested after being waved into the building by police officers.

The singer Patty Smith talked about this a generation ago. Some press jerk asked her a question about feminism and the bad deal she'd gotten because she was female. Then she apologized to me and said, if she ever...screams, or treats you badly again, come see me right away and she is gone.
Another company I worked for had a female manager that had enough of several females that were being mean and nasty towards co-workers. She got on the office PA and told everybody to come to the conference room. She addressed the issue by saying, this is for the females, If you wake up in the morning and you are Air quotes " In a bad mood" Don't come to work! Use your PTO. I am sick of dealing with this and so are the men. Do I make myself clear? Good, now get back to work!

Quick story. On a detail in Manhattan, we were deployed by Trump tower. Trump oddly came into the building and said hello to us standing there. I didn't know who he was it was pointed out to me later. Later a person came from the inside of the building and asked if we'd like coffee. This was many years ago. Tells you something about the man. He cares.

"There's still work to be done".... not in my experience. I put my wife through med school. She's a very successful physician who is a team physician for TWO professional (mens) sports teams. The company I work for is overwhelmingly dominated by women. While our CEO is a male (our last one was a female, and she was a disaster - company lost 65% of our stock price and had to go private under her tenure) almost our entire executive leadership team is female. Indeed our internal website is proud of advertising that our company is 70% female, and 85% female in the US. Women have broken through that ceiling in my opinion. Good for you ladies. Now stop lecturing us.
I guess 85% women is what feminists consider equitable ... and women never seem to complain about the inequity in the more dangerous, physical jobs.

The problem with trade school, blue collar jobs is that they are often replaced by illegal immigrants who are willing to work for a lower wage. Seriously, go to any housing construction project building million dollar homes and you're hear nothing but Spanish spoken. I had friends lose their jobs during the housing bubble to illegals. Their bosses were blunt about it how much less the illegals would work for. My friends lost everything they worked for.
For lower skilled work yes, but the trained trades are coming out and making more their first year than college degrees in 4. And those houses are built badly too. I did minor inspections and see new homes have problems in 6 months. The lower class always takes the hit.
That is so true. But honestly and I'm not going to say this to attack you or anyone who feels this way. But those people are some the most harding working people I know and they NEVER complain. I was raised by my Mexican dad(He is a fully naturalized U.S. citizen and he did it without getting citizenship from marrying my mom. Before you accuse him of being illegal). He taught me to never complain and appreciate what I have through hard work. Here in the U.S, people are so coddled, that they will complain about the slightest things. If we as a culture can promote the same thing, then we can outcompete them. The problem is how can we implore that into today's culture with our current technology?
Young men want to be challenged. They want to identify and solve problems. Government is not about solving problems, it’s only about creating them.

I was brought up White Poor in the 60s, I had no $ or way to go to college. I was 20 in 76, I was fortunate enough to be chosen to attend a Government program called Job Corp. I had my HS diploma and was trained to work in the telephone field. I went there for 8 months, finished all the prerequisites to be selected to go to an advanced school and was hired by Bell Telephone in 1978 and worked there for 30 years and retired with pension. Job Corp was an outstanding program in my view for kids like me at the time. There were many Black and Hispanic students that came out of the same program that had similar success, of which I have been friends with over the decades of years.
Well written and truthful. THey don't have programs today like they had back then. Young people need skills, not diplomas. In those days we had TRADE schools. If you couldn't afford college or were inclined to be college material, you got a trade. And it served you for life and retirement.

I can’t believe how much my former party has changed. I was just watching clips of Clinton referencing illegal aliens, the negatives of welfare, and how abortion should be a rare occurrence. I’m not on the right either as there is so many issues with that party as well. And despite Trumps infatuation with himself I am voting conservative across the board. Crazy how things change as I get older and, hopefully, wiser.

Over the years I have worked for dozens of companies and dozens of positions within these companies.
In my experience, 80% of the females from entry level up to top management, and even an owner of one company, were totally unqualified and were only in that position because of affirmative action/their plumbing.
A person's sex, skin color, ethnicity, or sexual orientation should have ZERO influence on them qualifying for a position! If you aren't qualified mentally, emotionally, physically, and or, don't have the credentials for said position, you aren't entitled to STEAL from qualified applicants.

I am sick and tired of hearing the demonization against straight males, as mother of a 27 year old son, as a sister of 3 brothers and lots of male cousins, as a grandmother of 2 grandsons. My 28 year old daughter did not like the part of the barbie movie where it came to the way they portray the male role in the movie. Toxic feminism is not good for society just like toxic masculinity is no good for society.

You 2 & James Carville are addressing half the problem. My grandfather graduated from college in June of 1932 at the height of the Great Depression. He and many of his male cohorts got WPA jobs building parts of the California Aquaduct. This experience kept him on track in his life and Los Angeles still benefits from this 90 year old infrastructure. The modern Democratic Party both scolds young men & provides them nothing like what it provided my grandfather 90 years ago. The party is deathly afraid of raising the necessary revenue (I.e. taxes) on its wealthiest contributors to use on these sorts of endeavors and help young people today & the nation into the future.
Increasingly men are done with feminism. Not just the current (4th & 5th?) waves on the left but the (1st, 2nd & 3rd) common on the right.

And it is both heartbreaking and horrifying when my caucasian, son who has brown hair and blue eyes was not admitted into any medical school that he applied to. They took his money for the application and the second application, and he passed both.
He did the zoom interviews and had great responses. His test scores were there. His ability was there, his interest and passion was there, but apparently he was the wrong sex and ethnicity. We were told that not by people from the colleges, but people in the medical field itself .We had no money to have him apply a third time and so now he is working in a different field and trying to pay off his college debt. Of course we were a family of five on a teacher’s salary but we still could not get any financial help for our kids schooling either….
Heartbreaking and disgusting. I hope he takes another path that sets him up for real success and ultimately he has the last laugh.

This happens to a lot of straight white men in the nursing program at my school according to my peers. The funny thing is if they are physically attractive, they are more likely to be admitted. As a hispanic dark skinned gay man majoring in Applied Physics, I am truly sorry your son went through that. Equity and "I see color" really were the worst things to happen. I wish the best for him.

as a white male with mixed race brothers who were kids in the 70s, i know what racism is, and this stuff about white males now, is as bad as the black racism of the 70s.. i dont get why this is just a conversation piece. My son who has a Masters degree in accounting has been passed over as a (California State employee) for promotions several times to Asian women with none or less education and less experience. He's already a very neat dresser and I explained he should attend the next interview for promotion wearing his earrings, mild make up and a girly blouse. Possibly he'd get the job , they might assume... let me add his yearly reviews have always been very good to exceptional so his skill set, reliability or longevity is not the issue. Yes , he is white although DNA showed 8% African American... maybe he should begin to identify as ....
