I'm kinda surprised that a Dem male said it. Honestly, he touched on a huge existential problem with modern society. It's actually women and the West's Feminization that is sending us into the abyss. If you want a functioning society, you have to get dirty, protect what you own with force, force people to compete on merit, and tell people "no". This female desire for safe spaces, not hurt people's feelings, and waving teddy bears are migrants all represent a decaying society.

It’s annoying to me not because it makes me feel unnecessary as a man, but more because if they’re saying “first woman” or “first black”, it usually just means somebody else has already achieved it and now they’re trying to find a way to make the achievement more important than it really is.

The second someone has a different perspective, they have an issue with it. They won't even debate. Watch 100 product commercials. Take a pencil and paper and tally up the non-famous actors. Note them by gender, race and lifestyle. How many of those actors are white males? Of the ones that exist, how many are 1 - so old and almost dead, in a feeble role and being helped. 2 - there to be a pathetic foil for the strong female wife to teach something obvious or 3 - the bad guy. If there are 3-5 people in those 100 commercials. My ballpark is that out of those 400 actors, maybe 8 will be white men, and NONE... NONE... will be in a positive role. DEI doesn't include you. It used to be that diversity kind of depicted everyone, but it really doesn't anymore.

As a male I can honestly say I don't care what the gender is of the person talking to me. I think both women and men are leaving the left but some women are less likely to abandon the Democrats because of abortion rights, me-too or supposed discrimination. In the 1990's the Democrat party abandoned the working class for an emphasis on racism, feminism, and global warming. Total emphasis was on the educated and elite classes. This allowed the former democrat Donald Trump to lead a populist movement and gain the White House. Trump talks like the populists. When I was growing up, I recall hearing "the world would be such a better place if women were in charge". We have that now in many aspects, and our society is a dumpster fire because of it. Women created woke.

With my employer's corporate communications focusing on women and holding men accountable, it has struck me it is less about positive equity and more about humiliating men.

It’s been a long time since I’ve agreed with James… but I do on this topic
Much USED to be said about a so-called gender gap. What's actually the case is single women vs normal people. In married couples the gap is only 5 percent and they're both more likely to be GOP anyway. Single men are about 6% more likely to be a Dem than married women, but with single women 67% vote Dem. THESE are the ones that get the most Dem pandering, and Carville is correct to question whether it's a good idea.
"Tonal" I try to listen to NPR every once in a while, but I can take about 10 seconds of uptalk then I have to go.
