@ GazAce - saw your hover comment, though YT's done that thing again where it buries the comment from most views (and also not in the held-for-review). You're asking about hover checks/hover videos. Not really - all I got is my very first video on flight, but don't recall talking much about hovering there. Usually just parking brake off, cyclic about 8% forward (either trimmed or holding it), then slowly collective up, once you reach desired altitude, slightly collective down. If there's wing, you can pre-empt pushing the cyclic slightly into that direction, and might need some pedals to counter yaw.
Be on the move. Not sure of the exact number, but think it was 110-120 kph. If you're hovering (at least less than 50kph), launching that big missile or more than about 4 S-8 rockets (or I guess a pair of S-13s), smoke ingestion can cause a surge in the engines. If you're moving, that issue goes away. Not sure the exact speeds it's no longer a factor, probably way less for rockets etc.
It seems the alignment bug affects heading hold heavily. That it maybe doesn't just use "left from my nose 10 degrees" but instead actually figures out coordinates, but then thinks those coordinates are somewhere completely different (instead of the coordinates being offset by the same drift). Hoping it gets fixed in the patch supposedly still January.
IIRC I'm at 10 or 11 degrees at the moment. I did go down to 7 at one point. Wish I could tell you the magical number that works perfectly, but think it's probably personal based on your head tracking, and whether you fly more often scouting out the canopy while keeping an eye on the screen or not.
Sry, a bit off topic, but: How do you feel about the new sounds of the black shark 2? it feels so quiet when starting up, hardly hearing the rotors, even when door is open. is that realistic ?
Interesting. Weirdly I haven't formed an opinion about that, or rather somehow I haven't noticed it yet. Saw some other posts on the forums that someone things it goes quieter on the engine sounds when the cannon fires or such.
I definitely have the delay as well. Think it's 2 seconds, but it's the standard amount. Don't know of a way to speed it up. Might just be I start holding down the trigger a little sooner.
Not at this time no. But I'm fairly active and reachable on the Eagle Dynamics, Tactical DCS and Rotorheads servers. In terms of servers to play on, can recommend Rotorheads APAC/Rotorheads. I'm on randomly and scarcely. Though at some point I will need to expand the horizons and discover some new helo-friendly servers. Or squadron-up.
@@volkvoort Should check out grayflag Syria. It's pretty heli friendly, and relies alot on troop transport and other CTLD to setup FARPs and whatnot. Also a dynamic moving Frontline like rotorheads
Happy New Year Volk. Special thanks for your Blackshark short video.
Same to you!

Sory for the lost but please be patient while we perfecting our enchantment in vehicles😅
Need help. Doing a bit of SEAD with the BS3. Using the Kh-25L but every time it comes off the rail I get an engine flame out. Any advice?

@@volkvoort thanks I'll try it out. 👍
Was creeping forward last time.
good place to ask? fk it.. bs3 sways with auto turn? even with fiddling with the 3 way switch for hdg? any reason?

what is your Helmet Ring Displacement (degrees) ?

@@volkvoort yes that too. engine sound cuts out for a brief moment when firing :|
it looks like you are firing vikhrs without the trigger delay?
usually i have to hold the trigger for 3-4 sec for the vikhr to go off

What server is this? Been looking for somewhere to fly the BS3 aside from Blue Flash and TDCS Elbrus
Try through the inferno servers
Was actually on a pop-up SAAF server, though obviously running a mission like TTI
fun
It was yeah
and I thought I had an annoying voice
you should hear the ones in my head ;-)
Do you have a discord? Id like to fly with you guys sometime. I use the mi8 a lot.

@@BlueSkiesVinny I've seen that name pop up more than once. Will do.
@@BlueSkiesVinny Yup, it's going on the list.
