Helicopter ops with others are always the most fun. Still waiting to get a multicrew Apache flight, but there's not much better than heading out with a team of helicopters and engaging targets.
True. Though multicrew is fun in it's own right. Maybe just post on the discord channel of whichever server you're flying on that you're hopping on and looking for a e.g. front seater. Might be lucky. Might get even luckier and the person might be competent ;-)
@@volkvoort Yeah, I've been meaning to see if anyone wanted a CPG or Pilot on Rotorheads. I'll hopefully have more time and better internet once I get settled into my new apartment.
Don’t have Sinai, but I tend to show up on GrayFlag more often. If you ever want a CPG, just ask, I’d be happy to. Also happy to be observer for the Hind too :)
@@ghostdog688 Yeah, not having Sinai has been my second biggest issue behind being busy getting ready to move. But I'll look you up once they're back on another map. I'm honestly hoping Caucasus gets another spin soon. It's nice having all of the vegetation to hide behind.
Why are the things on the bottom of your HUD vibrating or rotating wildly? The things to either side of the BRT knob, test button and day night switch. I don't remember them doing that the last time I flew the KA-50.
It's rotating mirrors. It's how it senses the helmet sight's angle. If you have the helmet sight stowed away then those mirrors are still. You can see footage of it if you look up some Mig-29 cockpits.
Hehe. He did say he was messing around/having some fun. Clearly ye, I had too little faith. I am partially curious if I could fit in beneath the treeline - given my rotor column is taller might have started clipping the overhanging trees.
@@volkvoort watching your Vid about landing in a confined-space/pinnacle, I realized that the pilot station field of view in DCS does not really match the perspective in the external view (like having GoPro attached to a miniature model train). in NOE particular, I take the HUD's vertical frames as a benchmark (in full zoom-out view < tell your brain to ignore the distorted side view), to help me to visualize the 🦈's rotor disc size inside the gap @ certain distance away (test in-progress).. otherwise I switch to contour profile. vertically, all those Syria Map big trees give your upper-rotor-set a clearance once you hit a 3m AGL. another "DCS Odds", often when I skim the woods canopy, I find a Pine's tree top cross through the cockpit!! weird😕 YES, but you can take advantage of that too.
Which do you prefer, the ka50 or Apache? I’m loving the speed of the ka50 but idk if I should try out the Apache as I still struggle a lot against decked out airbases
Personally, Ka-50. But also try out the Apache. And yeah, a decked out airbase will be a challenge for any helo, so take a friend in another helicopter, or 3.
I just bought the AH-64d, dam sale i also bought the f-14 and mirage 2000, I wish they had the Ka-52 alligator. Do you think the Ka-52 will come out? I know you said once you don't think so! The Ah-64 is my first Heli 😂
I'm still going with don't think so. There's a bunch of fans making an official module - i.e. takes some elements from Black Shark, makes assumptions on what's classified and some workings. No ETA on that yet. All your purchases are fun modules, so, have fun.
@volkvoort from the actual videos we see coming of Ukraine, and it ain't much, what do you think of the Ka-52 performance and losses? I also remember in Iraq the US had similar faild attack near Karbala in 2003, also the same for the Russians on the Antonov airport. And yes I will enjoy them all, but for me the F-16 is the best fighter so far 😀.
@@WarWithIn I'm not following the Ukraine war that much. Not sure what information is legit or full context. The bits I understand from supposedly proper military analysts is that they pushed those things in deep in the first month or so, hence the larger numbers lost there. Wouldn't know how to compare those losses in terms of another recent peer/near-peer conflict where the forces used helos in the same way (as opposed to throwing other types of units into the fray, like more air force or something).
@@volkvoort Agreed. As slim as I thought the chances might be before the war, with how tight-lipped Russia likes to be with their state secrets and technology, I feel like the war in Ukraine pretty much guaranteed that we will almost never see a Ka-52. At least not in any remotely current timeline. It's a bummer, because it would be a great Russian equivalent to the Apache with the radar and FLIR it would bring, while adding a ton of versatility to the Russian helicopter side that the Ka-50, Mi-8 and Mi-24 just can't provide in their current forms.
@aaronwhite1786 yep I am sad the war started like that, I would love to see the Ka-52 though, in Egypt we have the Ah-64E serving next to the Ka-52 Nile alligator, you can find photos of them on the Heli carrier Abd El Naser. and F-16, Rafael, Mirage2000 next to Mig-35 and maybe the Su-35 (there is no update where they went, may be the Russians kept them), western, Russian and Chinese equipment working together 😀 That's why I need to collect them all 😁
Love the black shark. Just wished I was better. Your videos are great resources!
Glad it helps
„Do you LIKE 130 mil raining down on you?!“
„Yeaaaaahhh!“
😂😂😂😂😂
Perfectly reasonable response.
Great video. The KA50 really is a monster when using it in hunter-killer teams. By far my favorite heli in DCS.
Every time i see your vid Volk, i want to get into the Black Shark again. But the Hind quickly becomes jealous. Great video :)
Having fun, or having fun? Oh, the horror!
The F10 feature tip was awesome :O
It really is a cool feature if you couldn't do planning in advance.
The KA50 was my favorite until the apache came. That was some good flying. I'm glad they finally fixed the gazelle.
Yeah, still need to give the new Gaz FM a whirl.

another alligator video thx for giving more love to ka 50 volk
Pleasure. "Alligator" is the Ka-52 though. "Black Shark" or earlier "Werewolf" is the Ka-50 which is what we have in DCS

What server is this?
"Helo World". It's run as a public server for Black Shark Den.
