Never quite sure if it's better to name drop / name & shame or keep it with "if you recognise the voice you know".

Man that opening shot had me screaming, I just fckn' LOVE the Black Shark so much! What an iconic battle machine!
love it when it's teamwork to destroy targets....
Despite the glitch.. Nice night-ops chopperman 🙂, dialing NVG and IT-23 level of 🌗 & 🔆 gain, also dim & declutter the HUD, Abris and PVI is everything for a good nocturnal hunter 🦈
Thanks. Bit later I tweaked down a few more of e..g the alerts and such, but the lack of re-arming on the forward points meant calling it. Though it did give me a taste for the night hunting.
@@volkvoort yeah.. it's quite a sharply experience when you try to navigate, survive and sense a prey in pitch-black night, with ED odds omnipresent.. I 🤔 you still can see the dots of the ground units, before the DCS start to render the trees (>10kliks), or zooming out all the way while scanning outside the cockpit, you need just the right gain for NVG, after acquiring a target with the pipe on the dot, you turn off NVG and transit to the scope dialing the Contrast & the Gain to reveal the shape of your prey.. et voilà 🦈 bonne appétit 🐟.
Hello! Awesome gameplay. Been learning anlot from your videos. Where so you have your zoom in and zoom out binded? I can only zoom in and out slowly and would like it to be faster like you have it. I can have my zoom in in a axis button but i need to keep it pressed all the time and thats not good.
Currently I'm still using the Thrustmaster TCWS throttle, which has a pinky wheel, which I can then rotate to varying degrees and speeds. Think there are some slight curves on there, mostly to make it a little less jarring to look at, but it's mostly the wheel. Hmmm... only ideas I can think for a small range-of-travel button would be jarring in that it yo-yos in and out based on the button. Maybe some curves/saturation on the button's Axis Tune to make it fast, and then bind two another non-axis button to zoom in and out more slowly (zooming out with a modifier)?
@@volkvoort Yo! Thanks for the quick reply. After tuning some stuff and doing some research I was able to turn my cyclic scroll wheel into a virtual axis button so now it works just like I wanted it to!!
@@KimiZyy nice
Makes me happy to see :)
nice night mission with a beautiful helicopter 👌👌
How do you find colored SHKVAL, easier or harder to use when comes to spot targets? I've had hard time to spot targets that were stationed near wood line.
Harder. It's not just the colour, but the contrast behaves differently. Like the horizon shots, the mountains seem to black out even in broad daylight. Me no likey
Nice seeing how a single ATGM did way more damage than 3 vikhrs
hey volk, do u have a video on safe engine usage and such on the shark?
I don't, or I guess not yet. I haven't been able to overheat or break the engines long as your electronic engine governors are on. Engine inlet icing or dust protection you put on as required. I have a video for dust. For icing just if the lady starts warning of icing conditions put on engine anti-ice, rotor de-ice and the two pitot heating switches further to the left and then don't fly under 10m (because you can't have dust protection on as well).
In theory the engines will have a happier life if you start them up with minimal hassle, spend minimal time in takeoff power and generally have the power at cruise levels or below. By that I mean that exhaust outlet pressure gauge on the very front of the right wall panel - just above the batteries. Cruise being the lowest notch, then hover and takeoff power. That said, I don't think that stuff will give you failures in DCS itself, but IRL the ground crew might need more maintenance.
How is dcs after multi threading? Havnt played it yet.
For ME, significantly faster. But your mileage will vary depending on which missions you play and what was bottlenecking you before. There's some new bugs related to it, but mostly a win.
how did you turn on color?
By having ED introduce a bug on the latest patch ;-)
It's not supposed to be colour.
@@volkvoort ahh lol its looks way better
Oh god, coloured shkval still exists, poor akula ;-; . What server have you been playing on btw?
Praetorian. It's a South African server running a flavour of Foothold. Main because (obviously for me) the ping was low, but also at the time it had a few more players jamming than some of the other more helo-focused servers.
@@volkvoort Thanks! I hope to have ok ping when I check it, because rotorheads just kills my system with ton of ground units, so I've been looking for alternative. Will try it soon!

@@volkvoort Where do you get the password
@@wynn1785 on the discord discord.gg/t5AcTgAx under the "joining server" the details/passwords are listed (look at the DCS one, not the ARMA one). Mostly South Africans on it, but all's welcome.
