There are/were a lot of those water pumps. So a village got a well or wells, or, in case of waterpressuring tower (water tower as google translate names it) - those water pumps. Somewhere were hand water pumps when you had to pump water by hand (in my village we've still got one but in poor condition but it still works). Villages with central water supply already got rid of them.

    2. Los Angeles is a very expensive and rich city, with amazing weather. It is a magnet for poor people because we provide services for the poor, and unlike Siberia, if you sleep outside, you will not freeze to death. Our coldest night is likely a warm spring day there.

Me prior service Navy, but retired from the Army in 96. I then did another 16+ years as a DAC at Range Control at a major large western Army Manuaver area training post. Which gave me the opportunity to interact with lots of service members prior to their deploying to Iraq and A-stan. One of the most memorable was a kid, who was Rusian born, imagrated first to Isreal, then to the U.S. He joined the Army shortly after arriving in the U.S. and dedicated himself to becoming an American citizen in addition to being a sharp dedicated Trooper. Thank you so much for this video and the personal time you share with us. Thank you so much for showing English-speaking people a part of our lives that we don't all see ourselves.

Their gun was bombed and as a result he became part of the landscape with only his shiny boots sticking out of the ground. One of the passing by troopers did like the boots and after taking them off found that my grandpa was alive because of his warm feet. That was in 1941-1942. I like the fishing store owner, he seemed very hospitable as Russians, especially Siberian Russians often do.
I assume you are working on your Russian language abilities, I actually became fascinated by the alphabet and have self-taught a bit. I'm farily good with linguistics it seems as I can pick things up quickly. I believe you speak Spanish as well as English?

yes I speak English Spanish and German (I worked in germany) I still retain vocabulary and im able to have simple conversation or at least ask for things express myself. I learned the Russian alphabet alone with seeing my visa and learned to read alone in 2 days basically I can read what I see but have small vocabulary and pronouncing things is so hard

@@Wild-Siberia awesome, have you ever been to Ulan-Ude? It used to be China a long time ago so it has heavy Asian influences. It's not "too" far from you I believe, haha. Although it's probably still a good drive.

the borehole pump is located underground, below the depth of the ground cutting. after the water is supplied, the pump draws the residues back into the well. in severe frosts, "kolonka" of course sometimes freezes, but it is warmed up with the help of a gas burner. Hello from Chelyabinsk!)

pipes are laid at a depth of 2.2-2.5 meters.
      below frost level.
After water is drawn, the residues drain through the valve.
трубы проложены на глубине 2,2-2,5 метра.
      Ниже уровня промерзания.
После забора воды остатки стекают через клапан.
