The mid range house is sooo worth the money, I have been down the avito rabbithole so many times looking at houses in Russia. But I have been looking in the Krasnoyarsk area, im making a trip there this summer if the visa is aproved. I managed to save up some money in Russia and want to move there to. I am a veteran of the US military during the Cold War, fascinated by Soviet era architecture, hockey and Russian food and churches. The Russian people never seemed to be my enemy. You have made living in Russia seem very attractive. Now that I am retired, I think about the place where I want to live out my remaining decades, God willing. I can understand you very well. My wife and I found our paradise in Bulgaria. I have been in the real estate industry for almost 30 years, so I really enjoyed watching your video about house prices in Siberia. My wife is half Russian, half German. I'm from Northern Germany, have been to 28 countries, and have even lived in Miami for a time as a hotel manager (I once studied that). But I have also been to very often to Russia. Skt. Petersburg, Moscow, Omsk and, as one of the few Germans, three times in Kazakhstan. We have a lot of Russian and Ukrainian friends. For over 20 years. Many of them also live here in Bulgaria. Great people, not as „brain washed" as many in the USA or Europe. And the Bulgarians are the same way. The Bulgarians are still grateful that Russia freed them from the Ottomans. This is a deep connection - even the same alphabet, which was created by Bulgarians, btw. You did everything right - a Mexican in Russia ;-) Bravo. We both found our happiness. I’m from the US and a lot of the middle class houses look the same, but you can find similar houses like your village in the US if you go to the rural areas. I live and work in the suburbs, but own a little house out in the woods where we hunt. I really like your show and how much you love your village.

From these prices a poor person from Baltics would become middle class/rich,same salaries btw as in western Russia but the price difference is crazy,basically Russia is 3~ times cheaper/same salary. Also not to forget that this is near Baikal which means it costs more than regular rural area of Russia that isn't touristy. If I sold my 50m2 apartment in Baltics I could buy a 100m2 new brick house in Kaliningrad or a 150m2 same house in Belarus.

I just found your channel while trying to uncover videos on prices of homes in Russia. This is probably the best overall real life pricing along with a walkthrough on the internet in my opinion. I felt that the cheapest houses should be between $20,000 USD and $45,000 USD. The middle price house seemed high to me at $106,000. Most people moving to Russia want to be able to buy a house for a relative low cost so they can enjoy their lives without going into debt. Awesome video. BTW, your companion is a really beautiful woman. I hope most Russian women look as pretty as she does in this video.

U.S. Military veteran following you from Puerto Rico. I see the price for real estate in your location are very similar maybe a little more affordable to the U.S. Territory Puerto Rico. That been said do a similar video during summer, because the city town and surroundings look a little depressing with all the dry grass and bare trees without the leaves.

I still live in the States and at first was thinking that the prices were not that different but I then realized how much property has gone up in the last three years but hopefully the bubble will pop again like in 07/08

Back in 2008 there was an extremely high new properties inventories, while today in current 2023 there is very slim to no new housing inventories, that plus the global move on de-dollarization is causing mayor inflation in the U.S.A.
I advise you the Caucasus, the same wildly tourist place, but it looks good all year round, and the weather is warmer there, but there is snow, a bunch of ski resorts like the Alps, and real estate prices are even lower, and even more party cities, youth, Kislovodsk is generally something! the city of dreams and dreams damn..
My favorite houses are the old fashion ones with the colorful window frames. I am from New Mexico in the USA. I really don’t know how to convert that currency to the US one so not sure what to say about the prices but I’m sure they are very reasonable . I live in a 4 bedroom Victorian house in Southern New Mexico and love it so I am not thinking of relocating. However I am sure there must be many looking forward to getting out of the rat race in the US for sure. I like how each home is unique and different too. Thanks for pointing that out ! In Soviet Union in 80s we were exchanging letters with children from other countries discussing things and life, but only "friendly" countries like Poland. As I remember we had a few zloty's that were sent to us in that time.

The most expensive house you showed looks like good value for money. It looks large and well-built and those brick walls around the property lot aren't cheap to build. It also has a spacious yard. What strikes me as noteworthy about this whole video is how expensive housing is in Russia relative to average income, which is about $700 per month in the Irkutsk region. That's a quarter of what it is where I live. I'd say the average price per square meter in places like Slyudanka in Finland is roughly twice the price in comparable places in Russia. To me, it looks like there's a lot of room for improvement in terms of efficiency in the Russian construction industry and perhaps zoning. Space is not an issue almost anywhere in the country.

I'm trying to move to Russia and your videos, especially this video, have been very helpful. One of the areas that interest me is the Siberian area.I would like to find something with a small farm a little outside of town. To answer your question the best houses are the mid range. I don't need extra rooms, higher ceilings and higher taxes or utility bills. I love the outdoors so a huge house, to me, means a waste of money, electricity and heat. Сибирь очень холодный регион, лето короткое. Я вырос в сибири, сейчас живу в московской области. Самый наверное приятный регион для проживания. Цены на электроэнергию, газ и коммунальные услуши вас наверное очень сильно приятно удивят. Дом не большой примерно 100 квадратных метров обходится менее 100$ это все платежи включая налог в месяц. И стоимость не значительно меняется от региона. Запад Московской области посмотрите, там есть зима, лето, осень, весна. В друших регионах России все по разному. Это касается как инфраструктуры, так и климата.
Lol I have been to Russia and am fully aware of the regions and weather. Working on farms my whole life made it very easy for me to tolerate the cold. Winter is my favorite season because I love the cold. When we did cold weather training in the army infantry I tolerated -30°F to -50° easily. After a year of researching Russia Siberia is most appealing to me. The city is not for everyone, all the buildings being so close together and no space actually irritates me. Wide open spaces and nature keeps me content. @@user-yv3nq8bh6o
It's a very nice place if you've already been used to harder weather. But I think siberia in general has a lot more opportunities if you have any sort of skill.

What percent of residents’ incomes go to pay for housing? Having such background information will help Westerners understand how relatively expensive e it is for residents to live in that town. For context, in the US people often spend ~33% of their incomes on housing. Thank you for sharing your videos and insights.
house hold income is probably 600-800 usd a month but all their bills are significantly lower across the board I lived in Russia first 5 months alone used about 2000 usd 🤣

I suspect that the paint schemes of the expensive house and neighbor will rapidly take on different characters and color schemes as soon as they become inhabited. In Belgrade , Serbia we stayed in an older soviet style apartment at the top floor, and made the trips up and down the stairs for shopping , etc - I was always intrigued that each doorway had its own character and look, and several landings would have plants framing them or in windows within the stairwell. Character of houses comes from the characters within, and we are all better for that!
Wow, incredible value. Prices here in the US, especially CA are on the rise again. You're looking at around $400,000 average in my area. You being from Los Angeles, you know how crazy the prices are there. One thing I always have to keep in mind is when they say how many rooms the houses or apartments are. Two rooms doesn't always mean two bedrooms. They often count all the rooms, bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. I'd love to be your neighbor, Daniel. I don't know about buying the big house there, I wouldn't want people thinking I'm boujie. I think my favorite was the traditional one, blue with the shutters @ 22:30. It wasn't for sale, but I liked it best. I always loved cabins and cozy houses. But I would definitely want to build a garage. Awesome video!
If you mean in Russia, we don't count bedrooms, we count rooms and people decided themselves what they use them for. But we don't count kitchen as a separate room

Obviously I would be coming there with my American dollars. For what I can buy with $100,000 US dollars here (nothing) compared to what I can buy with those same dollars is astounding. The average wage for laborers/average retail jobs is the equivalent to $800-1200 dollars a month, or so I hear.

I was in Slyudyahka a couple of times last fall when studying in Irkutsk and I absolutely fell in love with that town. Just trying to figure out how to get permanent residency in order to move there. glad to find your videos, very interesting topic. Am in SW Cda, dad was an architect, really miss fire places, character, as happened w/strong econ. Now trend is tiny, hive living, very expensive. I lived in Ontario suburb for a short time and it was too much the same. I like the smaller/medium houses in your area that incl natural materials and have space for garden, greenhouse, chickens, some animals. A second floor for sleeping. office not on ground, allows more light and a view. Too close to a main road seems noisy, more dirt from the cars but maybe in winter a better chance of clear roads, closer to bus. The less expensive area has a sense of community that is welcoming. I like the access for everyone to clean water in the town. Renovating some of these old houses (if possible) is a wonderful thing to do, loud wallpaper not my style, but no insult intended. What a beautiful place you live in. But yes, I’d happily buy a nice plot of land next to a stream or river and build my own house from scratch. As long as I have internet, even slow one, I’d be happy.
As far as I know, in the US, the Internet sells old companies, so there are old monopolies in the US, so there is no strong competition in the US. But in Russia, companies appeared only after 1991, so there is strong competition in the Internet and companies are trying to provide faster and cheaper Internet access than competitors. 🤔🤔

houses are even cheaper than that here in Saskatchewan and to be honest that actually surprised me. What I was curious about however was property taxes, utilities like water, gas, electricity. Also is it a system where you just pay the listed price or can you make offers and see if the seller will accept? (ive never paid listing price for any house i have purchased) Also i find it interesting that houses are measured by number of rooms when described in Russia vs here in Canada they are sold by square footage. So for example i have a 3500sf house and it has 9 or 10 rooms depending plus some storage and outbuildings.
Baikal region has the most cheapest electricity in Russia because of power plants on Angara river. (and electricity is VERY cheap in Russia). Any citisens can get a site of land for free, there is a special program for that region. People can build houses.

Since august 2023, the Russian government started a program where it gives away free land in the “arctic and far east regions” of Russia. However, when I looked at the list of lands, they’re all basically in the arctic, very far north… not lake baikal.

@@allay179 actually there is no international tourism, and domestic tours have Baikal as a target, not specific city around it. That's why there is no English translation. There is a lot teacher vacantions in every town, I didnt check but I think the situation is the same even in Moscow - public teachers are underpayed and usually they working for idea and having spouse who earns the money in better payed job. Native speakers are popular as private teachers in non-government owned businesses, their salary is higher

The important part is, it's made of bricks and it almost certainly has a proper foundation and thus it's already way ahead of the average and even a lot of the expensive houses in America. I understand that it is a lot of money for someone living in Siberia, but when I look at what even tiny condos cost here in Switzerland, I have to say this house is great deal. And you probably don't get to own a garden plot for 17000 USD in Switzerland.
I agree with you, if you have the money I think its not a bad deal to invest in having a summer get away at the shores of the largest lake in the world in a beautiful peaceful clean town.

When I think about the beautiful landscapes of Russia and how much it has of these riches I could cry. Who knows, maybe one day I'll make my great escape.

Switzerland has now a population of 9 million people on a comparatively small territory of which a large part is so mountainous that only few people live there. Probably the best part of it. Meanwhile the "lowlands" are absolutely packed with people and everything from public transport to a glass of beer keeps getting more expensive.
lol there were no houses or cities here until we settled this land, some only 100 years ago or less. virtually evry house in the US has a foundation, except very old cheap shacks that were the first ones ever built on that land, built overnight in the poorest rural places in the south or west before cities existed here etc. Essentially, cabins for immediate shelter. The Western states use wood but bricks are for the old houses in the eastern half. we have a lot o f wood and houses must be built fast, because of millions of new immigrants every year. Every house since about 1900 must be built on a foundation. so the west is mostly wood or stucco. Newly built mass subdivisions with 100+ quickly built houses nowadays . But ours are very nice for 500,000. nicer than the ones shown except in t he West coast cities and New York city, or wealthy neighborhoods.

@@benjamins8082 probably because the Russian government is interested in more people moving to places that are not so well populated. Hence 20 m for Crimea and far East, 50 m for Moscow and 25 m for rest of the country. I know they have been changing the requirements for investment visa somewhat , so numbers could have moved a bit.

It looks a lot like Rural Transylvanian villages. I moved from the Netherlands to Romania, in 2018. Bought a House with a garden of 2350m2 for 17.500 euro. Yes it has a lot of work, to bring it up to a more modern standard, but in the few years past, the prices have doubled and even tripled for Houses like mine, who have indoor pluming water ectra. So in that regard well worth the investment to renovate, and for that price? I could not even buy a garage box in a average Dutch city or town. If it had not been for these bloody rules regulation and sanctions, I may have ended up also in Russia. nice video, glad to see positive things about Russia, subscribed.

Это он ещё в Сочи цены не озвучивал. Это курортный городок в пяти шагах от воды. Там цены и в 90х были ... Земля помнится с голыми стенами или не очень с голыми не достроенного катеджа оценивалась в 0левых в 6 мультов по газете с объявлениями. Видимо достроили. А вон те квадратные дома ещё немцы либо японцы строили из числа пленных.

@@Radostttt We paid $5 a month is several states. For a 5 bedroom house. New York is even cheaper. And jobs don't pay 50 cents an hour like Russia. Also, most houses in Russia have no toilet, windows, running water, or electricity. And they have dirt floors.

I couldn't see myself in an apartment. So I didn't consider the value. If I had to choose, I would choose the medium or upper priced houses. They looked nice inside. Being honest I would probably buy some land and build a house or should I say have a house built.

Hey Daniel, I really enjoy your videos (watched them all) - the sincerity, your ability to enjoy little things. Way to go! 👍🏻 Regarding housing: as it was mentioned in the comments, it's way less expensive to buy land and build one on your own. It's not complicated in Russia: no bureaucracy, no HOA, nobody to tell you what to do. The houses you showed really don't worth the asking price, and I assume it's negotiatable. BTW I honestly believe you need a vehicle to bring your travels on the next level. There's lots of places you can only reach on a 4x4, and they're worth visiting. I'm deep into cars/bikes/sleds, let me know if you require any assistance because I don't see anybody around you who in fact knows this issue (although I might be wrong).
This video is not me looking for something to buy its me reporting the cost of life for houses and apartments. I also want to educate foreigners how location affects the cost of things. I know where to buy land and I know how to build my own house I can do all of this when its time for me to make a house if I need to. I truly appreciate your comment and your support! Thank you for taking us 'home shopping' with you. Love adventures like this. I watched Russell in Moscow yesterday he was showing an apartment on the 13th floor. I kept thinking that if electricity went out and no elevator. I can handle 4 floors without passing out.. but 13? $267,000 USD is a very nice price for the last house you went to, but stairs are an issue for me. The village/town is very clean (no grafiti like in the cities) and would be nice where things are close. The view is amazing. It would be an ideal place to set up a bed and breakfast or AirBNB. and have fishing tours. I like most of the houses at the end of the video (especially if they are one story), however, what attracts me the most are the different styles of windows.

living in a post soviet country that is poorer than Russia and didn't fix/upgrade their infrastructure for 30 years,I have electric blackouts max 1-3 times a year and they last around 3 hours. One time the whole pole fell and they fixed it in a day. It's not a problem to climb 13 floors unless you have babies or are elderly/with disabilities,you just climb slow and it's like taking a hike. I dont think it's a problem in Russia,I myself live in the 9th floor and the elevator breaks down rarely and if it does they fix it in 6hours~ that is to take in than I live in a country where services arent as good as in Russia,Moscow is like 5 times bigger in population than my country.I doubt they have electric issues because these blocks are newly built and have their own administrators that take care of the elevator and do regular checkups so it doesn't break down randomly,all wiring/apartments where I live are built in 1980s,the elevator used to be from 80s too and it rarely broke down but we changed it and now it's even rarer. In all my life living here I've heard of only 1 time people who got stuck in an elevator that dropped because of electric blackout. Honestly my internet goes down more times than electricity which is also 1-3 times a year,I just think eastern Europe/Russia does social infrastructure better,services are way more faster. Sadly after the soviet collapse everything went from government free service to privately owned=costs a lot. Moscow itself has a great mayor which made the whole city socially very comfortable to live in. Sadly we in Eastern Europe just have idiots in gov who create new taxes and say it's the Russian fault,we basically becoming like New York with the trash issue,completely destroyed the soviet system where apartments used to have trash tunnels and trucks would pick it all up every morning. Now it's all in the open like streets in NY with black trash cans and the smell and they pick it up not daily but once a week and we got taxed for it.
My grandmother lives in a small scientific town about a hundred miles from Moscow - district-wide blackouts are pretty much unheard of, but the elevator outages do happen once or twice a year. She used to live in an apartment on 4th floor, no elevator, - that has become difficult, so she moved to another one on 8th floor in a newer building. She turned 90 the other day and, as luck would have it, the elevator broke on that day, so she did 8 flights down and then 8 flights up(!) on the way back from the party. Very proud of her :-)
I've been living in one and the same house in Moscow for 29 years on the 10th floor. We have 2 elevators. There only were 6-7 times when BOTH elevators were broken during these 29 years. The rule is: the more floors there is in a house, the more elevators it has. A 9-floor house = 1 elevator; a 16-floor house = 2 elevators; a 21-floor house = 3-4 elevators.

От Москва сто с лишним км. Можно конечно посмотреть в инете наши места, где также рядом заповедник и гольф-клуб. Также есть вертолётная площадка.
Это московская область, я так понимаю? Там конечно. Уровень жизни и всё вокруг на порядок отличается в Москве, Питере и например в городе Курган, это Зауралье.

Вообще, стоит отметить, что за последние два года стоимость домов и квартир значительно выросла. В 2020 я купил новый двухэтажный дом из газоблока в 120 кв.м в 15 минутах от Челябинска за 3.6 миллиона. На сегодня он оценивается уже в 8.5 миллионов.
На самом деле абсолютно непонятна причина такого резкого скачка стоимости. Возможно, дело в том, что правительство направляет огромные средства на дальний восток и в Сибирь, что и привело к резкому росту цены, а может это просто спекуляция. Дело в том, что за 8.5 единиц можно спокойно построить дом на те же 120 квадратов километрах в 50 от Москвы. Из них 500к это будет земля, а 8М - собсно стоимость строительства.

Wow the prices are actually pretty high compared to central Russia where I live. The prices are basicallly something like they would be in a large city like Samara, while Slyudianka is basically a village. And the houses are pretty old.

But I have been looking in the Krasnoyarsk area, im making a trip there this summer if the visa is aproved. I managed to save up some money in Russia and want to move there to. I am a veteran of the US military during the Cold War, fascinated by Soviet era architecture, hockey and Russian food and churches. The Russian people never seemed to be my enemy. You have made living in Russia seem very attractive. Now that I am retired, I think about the place where I want to live out my remaining decades, God willing. I can understand you very well. My wife and I found our paradise in Bulgaria. I have been in the real estate industry for almost 30 years, so I really enjoyed watching your video about house prices in Siberia. My wife is half Russian, half German. I'm from Northern Germany, have been to 28 countries, and have even lived in Miami for a time as a hotel manager (I once studied that). But I have also been to very often to Russia. Skt. Petersburg, Moscow, Omsk and, as one of the few Germans, three times in Kazakhstan. We have a lot of Russian and Ukrainian friends. For over 20 years. Many of them also live here in Bulgaria. Great people, not as „brain washed" as many in the USA or Europe. And the Bulgarians are the same way. The Bulgarians are still grateful that Russia freed them from the Ottomans. This is a deep connection - even the same alphabet, which was created by Bulgarians, btw. You did everything right - a Mexican in Russia ;-) Bravo. We both found our happiness. I’m from the US and a lot of the middle class houses look the same, but you can find similar houses like your village in the US if you go to the rural areas. I live and work in the suburbs, but own a little house out in the woods where we hunt.

From these prices a poor person from Baltics would become middle class/rich,same salaries btw as in western Russia but the price difference is crazy,basically Russia is 3~ times cheaper/same salary. Also not to forget that this is near Baikal which means it costs more than regular rural area of Russia that isn't touristy. If I sold my 50m2 apartment in Baltics I could buy a 100m2 new brick house in Kaliningrad or a 150m2 same house in Belarus.

I just found your channel while trying to uncover videos on prices of homes in Russia. This is probably the best overall real life pricing along with a walkthrough on the internet in my opinion. I felt that the cheapest houses should be between $20,000 USD and $45,000 USD. The middle price house seemed high to me at $106,000. My favorite houses are the old fashion ones with the colorful window frames. I am from New Mexico in the USA. I really don’t know how to convert that currency to the US one so not sure what to say about the prices but I’m sure they are very reasonable . I live in a 4 bedroom Victorian house in Southern New Mexico and love it so I am not thinking of relocating. However I am sure there must be many looking forward to getting out of the rat race in the US for sure. I like how each home is unique and different too. Thanks for pointing that out ! The most expensive house you showed looks like good value for money. It looks large and well-built and those brick walls around the property lot aren't cheap to build. It also has a spacious yard.
What strikes me as noteworthy about this whole video is how expensive housing is in Russia relative to average income, which is about $700 per month in the Irkutsk region. That's a quarter of what it is where I live. I'd say the average price per square meter in places like Slyudanka in Finland is roughly twice the price in comparable places in Russia.
To me, it looks like there's a lot of room for improvement in terms of efficiency in the Russian construction industry and perhaps zoning. Space is not an issue almost anywhere in the country.

One of the areas that interest me is the Siberian area.I would like to find something with a small farm a little outside of town. To answer your question the best houses are the mid range. I don't need extra rooms, higher ceilings and higher taxes or utility bills. I love the outdoors so a huge house, to me, means a waste of money, electricity and heat. Цены на электроэнергию, газ и коммунальные услуши вас наверное очень сильно приятно удивят. Дом не большой примерно 100 квадратных метров обходится менее 100$ это все платежи включая налог в месяц. И стоимость не значительно меняется от региона. Запад Московской области посмотрите, там есть зима, лето, осень, весна. В друших регионах России все по разному. Это касается как инфраструктуры, так и климата.
Lol I have been to Russia and am fully aware of the regions and weather. Working on farms my whole life made it very easy for me to tolerate the cold. Winter is my favorite season because I love the cold. When we did cold weather training in the army infantry I tolerated -30°F to -50° easily. After a year of researching Russia Siberia is most appealing to me. The city is not for everyone, all the buildings being so close together and no space actually irritates me. Having such background information will help Westerners understand how relatively expensive e it is for residents to live in that town. For context, in the US people often spend ~33% of their incomes on housing.

house hold income is probably 600-800 usd a month but all their bills are significantly lower across the board I lived in Russia first 5 months alone used about 2000 usd 🤣

I suspect that the paint schemes of the expensive house and neighbor will rapidly take on different characters and color schemes as soon as they become inhabited. In Belgrade , Serbia we stayed in an older soviet style apartment at the top floor, and made the trips up and down the stairs for shopping , etc - I was always intrigued that each doorway had its own character and look, and several landings would have plants framing them or in windows within the stairwell. Character of houses comes from the characters within, and we are all better for that!

Wow, incredible value. Prices here in the US, especially CA are on the rise again. You're looking at around $400,000 average in my area. You being from Los Angeles, you know how crazy the prices are there. One thing I always have to keep in mind is when they say how many rooms the houses or apartments are. Two rooms doesn't always mean two bedrooms. They often count all the rooms, bedrooms, living room, and kitchen. I'd love to be your neighbor, Daniel. I don't know about buying the big house there, I wouldn't want people thinking I'm boujie. I think my favorite was the traditional one, blue with the shutters @ 22:30. It wasn't for sale, but I liked it best. I always loved cabins and cozy houses. But I would definitely want to build a garage. Awesome video!

Obviously I would be coming there with my American dollars. For what I can buy with $100,000 US dollars here (nothing) compared to what I can buy with those same dollars is astounding. The average wage for laborers/average retail jobs is the equivalent to $800-1200 dollars a month, or so I hear.

glad to find your videos, very interesting topic. Am in SW Cda, dad was an architect, really miss fire places, character, as happened w/strong econ. Now trend is tiny, hive living, very expensive. I lived in Ontario suburb for a short time and it was too much the same. I like the smaller/medium houses in your area that incl natural materials and have space for garden, greenhouse, chickens, some animals. A second floor for sleeping. office not on ground, allows more light and a view. Too close to a main road seems noisy, more dirt from the cars but maybe in winter a better chance of clear roads, closer to bus. The less expensive area has a sense of community that is welcoming. I like the access for everyone to clean water in the town. Renovating some of these old houses (if possible) is a wonderful thing to do, loud wallpaper not my style, but no insult intended. Love the blue fence (26.55). Bolshoye spasibo!

But in Russia, companies appeared only after 1991, so there is strong competition in the Internet and companies are trying to provide faster and cheaper Internet access than competitors. 🤔🤔

houses are even cheaper than that here in Saskatchewan and to be honest that actually surprised me. What I was curious about however was property taxes, utilities like water, gas, electricity. Also is it a system where you just pay the listed price or can you make offers and see if the seller will accept? (ive never paid listing price for any house i have purchased)
Also i find it interesting that houses are measured by number of rooms when described in Russia vs here in Canada they are sold by square footage. So for example i have a 3500sf house and it has 9 or 10 rooms depending plus some storage and outbuildings.
everything is cheaper by a lot in Russia than Canada especially utilities
Baikal region has the most cheapest electricity in Russia because of power plants on Angara river. (and electricity is VERY cheap in Russia). Any citisens can get a site of land for free, there is a special program for that region. People can build houses.

There is a lot teacher vacantions in every town, I didnt check but I think the situation is the same even in Moscow - public teachers are underpayed and usually they working for idea and having spouse who earns the money in better payed job. Native speakers are popular as private teachers in non-government owned businesses, their salary is higher

Switzerland has now a population of 9 million people on a comparatively small territory of which a large part is so mountainous that only few people live there. Probably the best part of it. Meanwhile the "lowlands" are absolutely packed with people and everything from public transport to a glass of beer keeps getting more expensive.
lol there were no houses or cities here until we settled this land, some only 100 years ago or less. virtually evry house in the US has a foundation, except very old cheap shacks that were the first ones ever built on that land, built overnight in the poorest rural places in the south or west before cities existed here etc. Essentially, cabins for immediate shelter. The Western states use wood but bricks are for the old houses in the eastern half. we have a lot o f wood and houses must be built fast, because of millions of new immigrants every year. Every house since about 1900 must be built on a foundation. so the west is mostly wood or stucco. Newly built mass subdivisions with 100+ quickly built houses nowadays . But ours are very nice for 500,000. nicer than the ones shown except in t he West coast cities and New York city, or wealthy neighborhoods.

Hence 20 m for Crimea and far East, 50 m for Moscow and 25 m for rest of the country. I know they have been changing the requirements for investment visa somewhat , so numbers could have moved a bit.

It looks a lot like Rural Transylvanian villages. I moved from the Netherlands to Romania, in 2018. Bought a House with a garden of 2350m2 for 17.500 euro. Yes it has a lot of work, to bring it up to a more modern standard, but in the few years past, the prices have doubled and even tripled for Houses like mine, who have indoor pluming water ectra. So in that regard well worth the investment to renovate, and for that price? I could not even buy a garage box in a average Dutch city or town. If it had not been for these bloody rules regulation and sanctions, I may have ended up also in Russia. nice video, glad to see positive things about Russia, subscribed.

@@Radostttt We paid $5 a month is several states. For a 5 bedroom house. New York is even cheaper. And jobs don't pay 50 cents an hour like Russia. Also, most houses in Russia have no toilet, windows, running water, or electricity. And they have dirt floors.

If I had to choose, I would choose the medium or upper priced houses. They looked nice inside. Being honest I would probably buy some land and build a house or should I say have a house built.

Hey Daniel, I really enjoy your videos (watched them all) - the sincerity, your ability to enjoy little things. Way to go! 👍🏻 Regarding housing: as it was mentioned in the comments, it's way less expensive to buy land and build one on your own. It's not complicated in Russia: no bureaucracy, no HOA, nobody to tell you what to do. The houses you showed really don't worth the asking price, and I assume it's negotiatable. BTW I honestly believe you need a vehicle to bring your travels on the next level. There's lots of places you can only reach on a 4x4, and they're worth visiting. I'm deep into cars/bikes/sleds, let me know if you require any assistance because I don't see anybody around you who in fact knows this issue (although I might be wrong).
This video is not me looking for something to buy its me reporting the cost of life for houses and apartments. I also want to educate foreigners how location affects the cost of things.
I know where to buy land and I know how to build my own house I can do all of this when its time for me to make a house if I need to. I truly appreciate your comment and your support! I know you took the time to watch and give helpful advice.

Thank you for taking us 'home shopping' with you. Love adventures like this. I watched Russell in Moscow yesterday he was showing an apartment on the 13th floor. I kept thinking that if electricity went out and no elevator. I can handle 4 floors without passing out.. but 13? $267,000 USD is a very nice price for the last house you went to, but stairs are an issue for me. The village/town is very clean (no grafiti like in the cities) and would be nice where things are close. The view is amazing. It would be an ideal place to set up a bed and breakfast or AirBNB. and have fishing tours. I like most of the houses at the end of the video (especially if they are one story), however, what attracts me the most are the different styles of windows.

living in a post soviet country that is poorer than Russia and didn't fix/upgrade their infrastructure for 30 years,I have electric blackouts max 1-3 times a year and they last around 3 hours. One time the whole pole fell and they fixed it in a day. It's not a problem to climb 13 floors unless you have babies or are elderly/with disabilities,you just climb slow and it's like taking a hike.
I dont think it's a problem in Russia,I myself live in the 9th floor and the elevator breaks down rarely and if it does they fix it in 6hours~ that is to take in than I live in a country where services arent as good as in Russia,Moscow is like 5 times bigger in population than my country.I doubt they have electric issues because these blocks are newly built and have their own administrators that take care of the elevator and do regular checkups so it doesn't break down randomly,all wiring/apartments where I live are built in 1980s,the elevator used to be from 80s too and it rarely broke down but we changed it and now it's even rarer. In all my life living here I've heard of only 1 time people who got stuck in an elevator that dropped because of electric blackout. Honestly my internet goes down more times than electricity which is also 1-3 times a year,I just think eastern Europe/Russia does social infrastructure better,services are way more faster. Sadly after the soviet collapse everything went from government free service to privately owned=costs a lot. Moscow itself has a great mayor which made the whole city socially very comfortable to live in. Sadly we in Eastern Europe just have idiots in gov who create new taxes and say it's the Russian fault,we basically becoming like New York with the trash issue,completely destroyed the soviet system where apartments used to have trash tunnels and trucks would pick it all up every morning. Now it's all in the open like streets in NY with black trash cans and the smell and they pick it up not daily but once a week and we got taxed for it.
My grandmother lives in a small scientific town about a hundred miles from Moscow - district-wide blackouts are pretty much unheard of, but the elevator outages do happen once or twice a year. She used to live in an apartment on 4th floor, no elevator, - that has become difficult, so she moved to another one on 8th floor in a newer building. She turned 90 the other day and, as luck would have it, the elevator broke on that day, so she did 8 flights down and then 8 flights up(!) on the way back from the party. Very proud of her :-)
I've been living in one and the same house in Moscow for 29 years on the 10th floor. We have 2 elevators. There only were 6-7 times when BOTH elevators were broken during these 29 years. The rule is: the more floors there is in a house, the more elevators it has. A 9-floor house = 1 elevator; a 16-floor house = 2 elevators; a 21-floor house = 3-4 elevators.
I would spend the money to put an elevator in it, but true sometimes 1 story is better.

От Москва сто с лишним км. Можно конечно посмотреть в инете наши места, где также рядом заповедник и гольф-клуб. Также есть вертолётная площадка.
Это московская область, я так понимаю? Там конечно. Уровень жизни и всё вокруг на порядок отличается в Москве, Питере и например в городе Курган, это Зауралье.

Возможно, дело в том, что правительство направляет огромные средства на дальний восток и в Сибирь, что и привело к резкому росту цены, а может это просто спекуляция.
Дело в том, что за 8.5 единиц можно спокойно построить дом на те же 120 квадратов километрах в 50 от Москвы. Из них 500к это будет земля, а 8М - собсно стоимость строительства.
