I've never seen tile spacers like those, and at first thought it was a pattern on the tiles, lol. I wholeheartedly support your plan to purchase the lot next door!! You never know what might be built there if you don't. If things change down the road, it could always be sold later. Having survived 18 months of construction right behind my garage, it will be worth the peace of mind. I don't complain when a neighbor is working on their home, but developers are evil. Congrats to you both!

Caleb, I just thought of something. In the Bathroom, you may want to use a ceramic shoe, or quarter round insted of wood. It would really finish off the floor well. I would even stand white tile on edge at the wall primeter to create additional water resistance between the tile floor and wood wall.

My theory is the marble is to catch condensation..as it's a porous material without sealant. Those pocket doors 😍🤤 .Congratulations on the engagement and being close to being done! Please snatch up the next door property if you can before the developers get it!

Watching you guys for a while now and I can't tell you enough what you're doing is my dream, it just makes me want to cry when I see people renovate old buildings, I can't thank you enough for not renovating this beautiful mansion but instead restoring it, what a labor of love, I admire you so much you have my dream job! If that's only your second time laying tile, you have a gift. The only thing I know about it is, the more intricate the design, the more expensive. So that would be a high labor cost item! That tile is fabulous! I can’t wait till the powder room is complete. It’s so close! About the marble slab, my great-grandparents’ Victorian house (built by a generation or two back in the family) had a slab of marble that the toilet stood on and I lived in a house from the 1910s that had a cast iron piece with decorative flourishes under the toilet. It was definitely a thing!
I think you’re smart to buy that lot asap - it would be devastating to have a little, punky, boxy house or, worse, a small 3 or 4 story apartment building tossed in there! Especially when you have such beautiful plans for the space.

I’ve been watching your journey for a while now (first time commenting ever on UA-cam) and you both are definitely people after my own heart. I once owned and lived in a Victorian-style home built in 1901. I use to say it was “the little house that could” because it was a small house but it had all the awesome attributes that the bigger Victorian homes had such as Awesome build-ins in the dining room and bedrooms, beautiful wood flooring, beautiful pocket doors, beautiful crown molding throughout and wainscoting around the dinning room, claw-foot bathtub, windows with the rope pulley, etc. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to leave me beautiful home. Watching your channel has really brought back a lot of memories and so much excitement when I see you restoring all those vintage treasures. Thank you so much for sharing your journey! When you first laid t out in another room, I was not too impressed with the design, but seeing it in the bathroom definitely looks good! Very nice!
