Here are ten easy Metallica guitar riffs for you guys played on a cheap GIO Ibanez! We are looking at some classics such as Seek And Destroy, Enter Sandman, Fade To Black, For Whom The Bell Tolls and Ride The Lightning but - also The Day That Never comes has a great easy riff! Also these riffs vary in difficulty even if they are easy for Metallica. If you want to learn these riffs to get closer to your idols James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett, I've put links to tabs for them at the end of the description. This video is more of a compilation of suggestions what riffs to learn - it' not meant as a tutorial in the first place. Also the tunings of these songs alter so that you also have a chance to discover new tunings =) #1 - Sad But True - D Standard - 0:00 #2 - Fade To Black - E Standard - 0:28 #3 - Seek And Destroy - E Standard - 1:01 #4 - Wherever I May Roam - E Standard - 1:17 #5 - The Day That Never Comes - E Standard - 1:39 #6 - All Nightmare Long - Drop D - 2:13 #7 - Enter Sandman - E Standard - 2:29 #8 - The Four Horsemen - E Standard - 2:46 #9 - For Whom The Bell Tolls - E Standard 444 Hz - 3:10 #10 - Ride The Lightning - E Standard 444 Hz - 3:28 Stay tuned and rock on! Ibanez should make a personalized guitar for you. I am sure you have sold a lot for them. I bought a RG series because of you. I guarantee some one will buy a GIO just because you played it.
@@liamhayman2778 $250 is cheap. Even if YOU have Zero money, that guitar is still cheap. You might not be able to afford a 10 cent gum ball, but that gum ball is still cheap. Cheap is cheap, even if some people can't afford cheap. I guess what you need is free huh? GET A JOB!!!!
That gio is very affordable ....but that engl is way out of my reach...for now.... Also I totally think Ibanez should give you a signature and it would be really cool if it was in the gio line.....maybe with some of the v7/v8 pickups
I really enjoy watching your videos as I have just finally started learning the guitar, something that I've dreamed of for about 45 years. I will be 60 next month and told my wife that I wanted to get a guitar and begin learning for my 60th birthday. I have been practicing for about a month and have a very long way to go. Thanks for being an inspiration to me.
@@rafalkrk Thanks for the good luck vibes. I always thought that I would feel much worse on the threshold of 60, but I really don't feel as I old as I thought I would feel, if that makes sense. I really enjoy watching JJ play. She seems to have so much fun as music should be. I also come here for her smile.
Nice Rick! I’m 10 years behind in age you but just started trying to pick guitar up about 2 years ago. Don’t have much time to work at it so my progress is slow, but it’s really fun when you start to make sounds that resemble that great music you remember. I’m playing the opening bits of Puppets so it is at least recognizable to me! 🤣. Great to have folks like JJ giving us old farts some inspiration and info.
Hmm... First tried song I would say "Nothing Else Matters". The most known song. Even under non-rock and non-metal people. First played, I'm not sure. But could be one of the first in my opinion.
Your energy and positivity are contagious! Also, you inspired me to buy this Ibanez Gio. I preordered it yesterday from Musician's Friend. I recently found your channel and you've inspired me to really get back into playing guitar again and to get better at it. Thanks!
You need to invest time. Of course you cannot do it right away. Everything takes practice. But they are easy. Invest 30 minutes for each and you will get there!
My daughter has been watching and playing along with this new post and I wanted to thank you for being such a great inspiration to not only her but all young female up and coming future guitarists! Any plans for a break down vid of any Metallica songs? - Marty
Hello Jassy ! i fall in love about this Gio GRGR 131EX-Bk ! i see it on thomann and when i see your video about 200$ vs 2000$ guitar battle , i buy it !!! now i'm waiting to play a lot and maybe later but i put new pickups probably 59' with custom 5 or jazz with distortion from seymour duncan .thanks for all video with this fantastic Ibanez GRGR131EX-BK ! take care and be safe !
Awesome video! I really enjoy and look forward to your epic riff lists! I really like that guitar as well. I know it’s one of the “cheaper” models, but that matte black finish is beautiful! It fits with my favorite song on this list, which is “Fade to Black”. I’ve always really liked that song and the emotion it conveys. Epic playing, and thank you again for taking the time to make these videos. They really make my day better! Stay safe and healthy. God Bless.
Interesting. You can definitely hear the guitar reaching its tonal limits. It's lacking some dynamics and clarity compared to more expensive pickups, but it's really good for the price. Of course, you're a great player with a very nice amp, but I think I'd be incredibly happy if I could get anywhere near that with my first guitar. \m/ Fantastic selection as always and beautifully structured. That Fade to Black riff is so fun to play! It's the only part of that song I know haha. Metallica riffs are irresistible. You've probably just inspired a whole new set of people to try guitar. :) Awesome video!
Thank you very much! =) That's what I like about riffs they are much more fun to play than guitar solos! =) And yes... It was also really hard to EQ the guitar but once you've found a good EQ, the guitar really sounds decent!
Pure awesomeness!! I've been a huge Metallica fan since I was a teen in the 80's, so thank you for this, my friend! H\I hope you're well and having a great weekend 😊🤘
Hey jassy awesome list and very well played off course , and my first guitar was a Ibanez gio with a Hss configuration that came in a starter pack , I played that guitar for many years after that , even the base models from Ibanez are great guitars
Amazing video as always! love when you do Metallica! Would love to see you get into some classic rock stuff like some Queen, Ozzy/black sabbath, or even some really early Godsmack
Jassy, Great job on the Metallica riff list. That Gio sounded great. My friends and I are learning Silvera by Gojira and my GF wants to sing Barracuda by Heart so I am going through that song and l am learning that song too, full schedule with that and working. Easy but VERY effective. Just shows how great Metallica are at writing memorable RIFF’s. In this case less is more! 🤘😀🤘

Killer playing, Metallica is my fav of all time man. I remember when Killem all was recorded in my home town of Rochester, NY.
A Day That Never Comes is my favorite!

Finally a list that doesn't include anything from St. Anger.
You always deliver awesome videos! Didn’t realise how many of Metallica’s well known riffs are quite simple!
Thank you James! =) This isn't just Metallica. So many famous songs have quite easy riffs =) Simple but effective one might say!
Me seeing that’s the easy Metallica riff and I can’t do it:😳

I think Jump in the fire was the first Metallica riff I learned and about a quarter of the solo too
Dave wrote some cool stuff
For such a cheap guitar it's beautiful and sounds great.
Right? I mean it's not as clear as my other guitars but for that price it definitely delivers!
