For some reason this video is as soothing as watching Bob Ross paint a happy masterpiece right in front of my eyes. Now I'm not sure whether to fix my headliner or just replay the video and take a nap.
Thanks for the comparison. I had to get educated on who Bob Ross, was he is great. Thanks again. Marcus
Yes I agree I watched the video not only did I learn but it really calmed my mind and got me ready for the job! Great job 👍

@@HeadlinerMagic agree 100%!!! You make it look so easy! I'm sure it's an ease & skill that's come with practice, but now I'm much less intimated to try it myself!
@@rocki_bb Thank you Rocki, That is what we are aiming for. We want to give you the courage to tackle this your self and save a tremendous amount of money. My goal is to help as many people as possible feel great about trying this themselves. I'm only one guy and I would love to do every headliner out there. I know as some point the sagging headliner would win. But at this rate each one teach one! We may have a chance to beat the sagging curve.
Thank you for watching and commenting. Marcus
I’m not sure why but the audio cut out at about 6-7 minutes in. But nonetheless, by watching you work with the material and lay down the adhesive, it seems easy enough to follow, as long as you pay attention and take your time. Thanks for the awesome video!
My apologies for the sound lost. We have created a replacement video for this one. You can see is at the link below.ua-cam.com/video/mnd6EiXHiccT/v-deo.htmlhank you for watching.

The real difficult part is removing the headliner and re-installing it once the fabric is replaced.
depending on the vehicle model, you may have to remove whole bunch of trims before you can remove the headliner.

I've been pondering how to replace the headliner in my '96 Regal Sedan. After watching this I'm sure I'll have No problem doing it myself..
Thank you Dennis, with that attitude I definitely believe in your ability to do it. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Marcus
Sir, this IS the BEST headliner video I've seen to date that aint botched with shitty loud music and crass, just plain dumb jokes. YOU RELEASED AN ABSOLUTE EXCELLENT TUTORIAL !
Thank you!!! Q: Have you thought about teaming with Sprayway Customs to do a Webinar?
Crazy you asked Christopher. I reached out to him about 2 to 3 months ago and got no answer. I know the messages can get a little overwhelming so I just left it at that. I felt like we could make a good collaboration. I was subscribed to him for a while he does great work. I learned how to better my fiberglass techniques thru him. I will be using those skills learned on doing some door panels on my 86 el camino / camaro door panel conversion.

Very detailed and easy to follow along. I'm updating my headliner in my Jeep very soon and can't wait to update it to a finished product.
Thank you so much. My mother did upholstery as a career but they didn't offer premade linings then. She always struggled with the glue seeping through the thin fabric. Remembering that issue i came to learn the secret only to find out that the issue has bees solved by inexpensive prelined material. You've saved me a great deal of time and effort.
Thank you Merc for sharing. We now manufacture our own product line of headliners in 6 color currently and more to come with a quality foam backing that I personally give it the highest star count. I hope to leave that mark on the industry. Marcus
I just got a 2004 Chevy Silverado that needs a lot of TLC. I want to do as much of it as I can myself and this video makes me believe the headliner is a project I can absolutely do myself!

This was an incredible video very well described. Before I was very nervous about having to fix my saggy old headliner and this has me feeling less stressed thinking this may actually be an easy job. Best headliner tutorial on youtube by far. I've done this many times and it came up on suggested. Only thing I do that you don't is cut relief cuts and fold over the material on the inside of the holes for the lights. Great video!
Thanks Nicholas for watching. I did years ago cut the relief s and fold the cuts in on the lights and visor holds. But over time I realize that those accessories have enough tension to hold the material close enough to the board to create a great seal. Thank you again for watching. Marcus
Just I received 1 order from Ebay today till I watch this tutorial, I notice this material was better, so I placed my 3 yards, and my spray, from you guys, it's coming to LA,THANK YOU

Will do. I get so excited and ready to go but your right health first! Thanks you for viewing. Marcus
lungs AND sinuses... nasal rinse...
@@darrinsiberia what is a nasal rinse? I may need that. Marcus
@@HeadlinerMagic You can get the nasal rinse from Costco, or any pharmacy like Walgreens or CVS. Neilmed is the brand that I use as they have the prepackaged salt and then you just have to buy distilled water. Definitely use distilled water and heat the solution in the container for about 20-30 seconds in the microwave, nothing longer than that as the water will get too hot. Then just bend over in the sink and squirt the solution up into your nose and enjoy the crud that will soon come tumbling out! lol Its actually something I believe everyone should do periodically. Always store the bottle without the top on to allow the container to dry and not get mildew etc between uses. I store my bottle in the cardboard box with the top wedged into one of the corners of the box. BTW Marcus, I agree wholeheartedly with all the comments above from others! You are certainly a professional and your presentation made it look so easy! Nice music too. One of the best how-to videos Ive seen!

The disassembly and putting it back have been the hardest parts, so many clips, especially with the sunroof!

Thank you very much for the best film on the headliner replacement. I plan this project, but not sure if this can be done at lower temperatures (around 50F)? Would it cause just longer times for glue to stick, or it can be other problems and better to wait when it gets warmer? Thank you again.
Hello Olena, you can do it in lower temps. Like you said you will just have a longer tack time for it to dry. This can be a good thing tho if you are spraying a larger area. Marcus
@@HeadlinerMagic Thank you, Sir, so see even some positive effects here with lower temperatures. I also want to inquire what do you think about KilMat (sound deadening)? I bought it to put under the headliner, but now think it might be difficult because of all those curves. Thank you again for the wonderful film.
@@olenaerhardt7725 The sound deadening is a great addition to your project. it will be a little tough around some curves but it doesn't have to be perfect. You can cut it and place it like that as well. It will still work the same.
@@HeadlinerMagic Thank you, it is very kind of you to answer my questions. I bought Kilmat in pieces (like 1'x1'), so it would be easier to apply. Really bcs it goes under the liner it shouldn't be perfect. I'll just try my best. Thanks a lot for the idea, Sir.

Those hands are magic, great job
Thank you FastSigns 48. Marcus
I have some fabric, but it's not foam backed. Should I lay some foam down first to minimize creasing??
Laying the foam down first is definitely the way to go. But if you choose not to the process will still work as long as the board is clean of all debris. The amount of stretch in the fabric you choose to use will help to eliminate wrinkles.
@@HeadlinerMagic Got it. Could I lay fabric over OEM headliner material?
@@EscapePlanSkateboarding Yes indeed EscapePlan Skateboarding. I love the screen names guys!
You can definitely lay the new liner over the existing one if the integrity of the old one is still intact. You may have to use a bit more glue because the old foam headliner will absorb some of the glue sprayed. Marcus
Does this stain?
Not at all. If your referring to the adhesive. If you are referring to the cloth back headliner ability to get stained well that would be a yes. It can get stained by dirty hands, cigarettes' smoke ect... Marcus
Headliner Magic thank you for your response Marcus. I was referring to the adhesive. You guys’ headliner looks quite thick, making it hard for the adhesive to penetrate right? Do you think there would be a chance it would stain the slim factory headliners found in most European cars; that sag and just need to be adhered back on, obviously of course if someone was not careful and sprayed a little too much on one area, perhaps it would. I already purchased your adhesive btw, just haven’t got the time to use it yet.
@@EJR20 No the adhesive will not stain the headliner fabric as long as you shake the can well before spraying. This why you want to spray the board first and make sure the spray coming out is like mist silly string and not wet globs. I like using the 1/8" flat knit style headliners us on the European cars. I prefer it in most cases because it is flexible and tough. But I have had bleed thru when I have two much glue on the boards. Most of the time this will happen in a grab handle pocket. So I'm not perfect in that regards. I usually have a few choice works and either redo it or wait for it to dry more before pressing it down any more. You can usually see a streak coming thru as a warning if this happens. Being mindful on laying out the glue evenly and this will minimize the staining to zero. Great question Edgar, I hope this helps. Marcus
@@HeadlinerMagic Marcus, is it okay to add soundproofing to the roof or back of the board? I want to do this headliner restoration but have been soundproofing my car since getting a new sound system. Wanted an expert's opinion on whether adding some to the roof is okay to do?
@@BroCamelToe Yes indeed TaZa Kshy This is the best time to add sound deadner. You can glue direct to the metal Roof or the the headliner board either is fine. Marcus

I have some good explanations in there as to why I do certain things as well. It goin to be a long one but I will have some charter breakdowns in the video to allow you to skip to the parts you want to see. The charters will be listed in the video description. Thanks you for watching the videos. Please give me a thumbs up or down it helps the algorithm show my videos to more people who are searching for the awesome headliner replacements. Thank Marcus
Excellent in all respects (didn't need the music, though).
Thanks!
Thanks that would have been great for this one since it’s not monetized because of the music used.
Fantastic job. You can tell you've been doing it for a very long time.
Thank you Seimore, Indeed I have seen a few headliners. Marcus
Great job! Finally a video with easy steps. Keep up the great work brother! Greetings from Europe.

Excellent demonstration. Saved to my you tube library and when I’m ready to replace my headliner on my sprinter van I will refer back to it. Going to the “Magic Headliner” site right now. Thanks for the help!
Thank you Denise. Let me know what you need if you don't see it on the site. Marcus
I'm gonna need this sort of thing done to my geo pryzm! I swear it looks like a horror movie
No worries it’s a easy fix. Marcus

Thanks for the great informative video I’m actually stripping the old foam of my head liner with a wired grill brush and a moist rag it dust it cuz I can’t find my actual fired brush lol😂

Brother you make it look as easy as spreading buttah on toast! Seriously, great video! I'm getting ready to replace the headliner in our trusty 97 Yukon. It doesn't see the road that much anymore and the NC sun has cooked the ceiling of the old warhorse! Your video is right on time and I have subscribed. Many thanks!
Thank u for subscribing. The Yukon will be back on the raid soon. I will have ebooks out soon for the details on how to remove the boards per vehicles. My subscribers will get them for $1 when their ready. Also use coupon code magic1 at checkout for 10% of your headliner purchase . Marcus
