Ali Woodson has his own dance step where he uses only hi right leg. I've notice this in most of the videos in which he appears. I love to hear him sing any of David's songs as he is the only replacement lead who gives them justice.

Ray Martin (the presenter) would have been about 20 when My Girl was released, so he would probably have been heavily into the British and Australian pop and rock that was popular at the time, and he wouldn't have been particularly aware of Motown or its significance. It's definitely not 'his music'.
