You two almost qualify as Old School Bikers. The way you ride, camp and the home made parts on your o'l' scoot is just the way we did it back in the 60's. Ride Hard-Live Brave!!!!!
You guys inspire!. Enjoying this and some of your other videos. Just found ya'll. I have been riding for 55 years. You guys are serious, old school. Bare necessities. Minimal belongings. Side of the bike tent. The whole nine yards. Side of the road repairs. Sittin' on a curb and absorbing life. You have it figured out. Take care and keep on keeping on.
@@joymachinetheshow you’re welcome! I really enjoy your videos. Joy Machine is my new favorite channel. It’s interesting, there are tons of motorcycle camping channels on YT. But yours is by far the most consistently engaging I’ve seen in a long time. I think it has a lot to do with the interplay between you two. The vibe in the videos is also very light and happy, which is awesome. Anywho, love the videos! Keep ‘em coming
@@maxwellheintz2391 Thanks a lot Maxwell! I really appreciate the helpful feedback. It'll help us continue to make these the best we can. Will post another soon. Cheers!!
Awesome to see people use an old school map. I’m so damn spoiled with my phone… I hope you carry something to protect yourselves with out on the road and camping. It’s not just four legged predators you need to worry about these days.
Your videos are fun, and they are getting better :) Food in the tree also keeps it safe from mice, raccoons, etc.,but most importantly it keeps the bears and other critters away from you. It’s not fun to wake in the middle of the night to raccoons tearing a hole in your tent to get to a box of cookies. A little para cord helps with hanging the food in the tree, or putting up the tarp. I’m 66 and yeah, I also did a lot of learning the hard way. Back in the old days, we had to get a book to learn back country stuff the easy way. Now you have the internet. Look for ultra light back packing for ideas. You don’t need the really expensive ultra light gear because you’re carrying it on a motorcycle, but it will help you figure out what to bring, and how to use it. Oh, one more thing… a tent also helps keep you warm.
An interesting challenging ride this video. Great countryside. Alway good to have some fun and humor in the videos. Too bad about the fire ban. Always nice to have a little fire for ambience and effects. Keep up the great travels. Be safe.
Thanks a lot Paul! Was fun trying some off road with the bike this time around. Looking forward to more fires in the future. Thanks again for watching and for your feedback. All the best to you!
Glad to see you use paper maps too. There's been more than a few comments to me when I am carrying my atlas into a restaurant to map out my destination. I do have a GPS on my bike and of course my cell phone. Just on my last trip I was going through Colorado and pulled out my atlas and started to look at it and noticed that the Colorado Rockies were not too far away. So I headed that way on a side trip.
Guys, these videos are great, it's autumn in the UK, not really camping weather anymore, but these videos are already making me think of Spring and loading my bike up to go camping. Keep up the great work with these short films, 👍
congrats for handling the harley on those heavily grooved dirt tracks .... I would not venture with my Road King. The scenery and experience out there are unique ... there's nothing like that in Europe (at least South and Central)
They are shinkos, 240 on the rear and maybe 270 on the front. Cool vintage look but modern tire. And removed fender, we live in a real dry place so rain isn’t a concern most of the time anyways haha
I have no idea of what either of you do for a living or of your interests. But given the area in which you travel, you might check out Nick Zentner's UA-cam Channel. He is a geology professor at Central Washington, University in Ellensburg, Washington and does a lot of videos on the geology of the area in which you are privileged to find yourself. I'll bet you both would find it very interesting. He has tens of thousands of subs and few of them are geologist (I'm an exception). Give him a view or two and you might become " Zentnerds " as his followers call themselves. And get tips on some great destinations, too.
I took my best riding buddy on this road. He got so mad at me and said some things so harsh that I rode off without him. In hindsight, if he don't like that road then we can't ride together...we haven't done anything together since that day. I miss him but still waiting for an apology..it's been about 5 years now.
Yeah that bike wasn't designed to ride in the dirt you can do it but boy you ever get a rock up between that rear pulley and that belt you not going to like that one bit if you snap the belt off the back of that thing you're not going to like the repair especially if you're out in the middle of nowhere because you're going to have to call a tow truck

Oh cool - BC is great spot for bikes for sure!
That machine was never designed to ride in the dirt, but you make it anyway. Awesome!
Greetings from Germany 🤚
Hey, thanks for checking out the channel Christoph!
SC old Army guy, you keep it real...enjoy sharing your adventures. Keep on riding
Thanks a lot for watching! All the best to you!
You guys make me smile. All the best and continued success
Thanks so much! We appreciate the kind words.

Thanks for taking us along nice countryside. Hope to get the bikes up around that area someday. 🙋🙋♀️🐕
Thanks for coming along. This area is definitely worth the trip.
Looks like another stellar weekend. 🤙
It really was!!
Always keeping it real and fun! Thanks you both for sharing your adventures! 👏👏👏🍻
Appreciate that Fernando, thank you very much!!
I'm in Western Washington, really like your vids. Makes me want to head east, just too hot right now. Keep the rubber side down.
Nice, ya it is very hot out here right now, hard to handle sometimes. Thank you! Yes, you as well, cheers!!
Great channel! Love the videos and riding Evo!! Keep up the fun!!!
Thanks for watching!
Love the vids, this one in particular made me sell my sportster and get a big twin!
Oh awesome! Yeah the big twins are really great - especially for riding two up. Thanks for watching and enjoy the ride.
Just allways stay safe
Always. Cheers!

@@joymachinetheshow Enjoying the heck out of your videos guys!
@@Eds_PanAm Man, we love to hear that, thanks very much for watching them.
@@joymachinetheshow yes sir!
Good stuff. Jumping that rut!
From camera angle thought ya caught one of those ruts and came out other side. 😂😂
hahaha some of those ruts were killer
ЛАЙК !!! 😊👍
What kind of tires are on the softail? those look super retro what happened to the front fender?
They are shinkos, 240 on the rear and maybe 270 on the front. Cool vintage look but modern tire. And removed fender, we live in a real dry place so rain isn’t a concern most of the time anyways haha
I've gotta make a rack so I can take a sleeping bag 🇦🇺
For sure - we are looking into one for Nika's bike too so she can bring some camping stuff on hers. Thanks for watching!
Is there a cam in that evo motor?. Sounds bad ass
Oh thanks! No cam, it's just stock.

Oh yeah that makes sense!
