True grit! You can laugh when your boots are wet from fording a flooded "road closed" route, doing it with excitement instead of fear. It's great to share experiences with your children, I have fond memories of doing that too.

From a wrinkly old Biking camper, any tree can be a danger in high winds Charlie, but the ones to really watch out for even in fine windless weather are Beech Trees, young or old, diseased or healthy. I've seen them suddenly drop a bough in mid summer with not even a breeze blowing. So no camping under Beech Trees, even in fine weather, otherwise our nutty Nomad could get flattened. 😄 👍

Lovely to see your daughter as pillion.my wife refused to be pillion due to a school friend dying as a pillion. However my 3 daughters have all been my pillion and loved it. Great days out, great bonding, forever memories. The middle one has done all her tests and progressed to a 650 gladius and now a street triple as well as her 140i bmw. A true petrol head. It’s strange because I am a terrified pillion
I have yet to try pillion, it's on my list!
lovely video.... can't help noticing the nervy breathing when daughter jumped on bike. Took you out your comfort zone for a bit 😀you nailed it though. I don't mind riding all year round but i'm not sleeping outside in January. I'm 60...i've earned my electric blanket and bed badge
Yep, 59 yesterday and right there with you. For more than 30 years my bike was my daily transport and I did go to rallies all year round, I've camped with snow on the ground a couple of times but I'm afraid that like you these days I like my central heating!

How crazy are you love it 😂 you need to get pinlock for that helmet that keeps fogging up. Really well done camping in February. 👍
I do have a pin lock on it, but it failed in the freezing temps!

I took my youngest daughter out on my Enfield Interceptor a few weeks ago (her first time on a bike), and now, whenever the weather looks okayish, she's badgering me to take her out. I think my son is angling to take over the Enfield, so probably just as well I have another bike lined up for me 😉 Haven't done the camping thing with them, but having watched your video, it might be fun - watching you and your daughter getting your "late night" gave me a belly laugh

Excellent Charlie 👍. A proper mum and daughter bonding camp. Here's a tip for you, when I used to camp years ago up in the Yorkshire dales, with mates, I found that if you stick a your pullover in the bottom of your sleeping bag, it keeps your feet toasty warm 😉 try it, it really works.
I shoved a hot water bottle down there instead. 😂

Lovely Mother and Daughter video Charlie. You need waterproof boots and as a backup waterproof socks. Cold wet feet (or hands) make the whole of you feel cold. I also wear a belt with built-in handles for my granddaughter to hold onto when she goes pillion. Enjoy the Dragon.

Savernake brings back great memories with our kids there when they were young. Thanks for the excellent video. Camping there on our bikes in Spring. Heart warming to see you and your daughter braving January and your enjoyment of each others company and the simple pleasures in this beautiful area.

All the times I come down from Manchester to Bournemouth I go down that way past Swindon , Marlborough etc and didn’t realise Choppers Cafe was there . Me and my friend are heading that way in May so will def stop off for a cuppa.

Hey Charlie! Thanks for posting. (I must admit to watching with a hot cuppa.) I was very tickled to see you warming yourself in the loo with the overheat heater. It brought back memories of doing the same thing in the 1980s as a Town beat Policeman! I also noted with some degree of being impressed with your road positioning. Charlie, you are about as hardcore as hardcore gets, huge respect ! I’m building up to thought of freezing to death at my first Dragon Rally this year, while you do it most weekends just for fun 😂👍.

I believe one of Mick Jagger's kids went to Marlborough College too. We spent many Sundays in Savernake forest pick nicking with the Kids when we lived in Swindon. Now we live in Ohio USA and spend time travelling the USA with the camping trailer. I did take trip on my Suzuki V Strom 650 out to Utah. 6500 miles round trip. That was fun.
Charlie, that was fantastic,wish my youngest boy would come out riding with me occasionally but he is always”busy” when was younger he would come on the back of me occasionally,but it is fantastic to look back at, and your making great memories, looking forward to next shenanigans,rubber side down keep saving lives in between, and thanks for both things

Yes, never obey a road closed sign when on motorcycle! Although there was the one time when I couldn’t even squeeze around the block. Great video and well done for going through the flood.
Hi Charlie. Yet again, you are an inspiration and huge respect to Georgie for joining in. It just goes to show you, yoh don't need to have a too of the range motorbike and plan huge world tours in order to make memories and have some fun. I've ridden my Himi - Jimmy, all winter and it's one of the best bikes for it that I've ever ridden.
Also just to say how appreciated you are in the job you do.
