I have the exact same injury from 6 years ago with 3 plates and 17 screws. Through poor treatment it is now absolutely debilitating. I’m constantly looking for relief and haven’t been able to find such a close comparison. Watching this literally brought tears to my eyes; I’m so happy I found this video! I’m going to show it to my husband and hope that he can follow along.

Originally, I came to this video for a regular client of mine who suffered an ankle/lower leg injury due to being hit by a car recently and this video BLEW my mind! I've been a fan of Rebel's for ages and honestly I don't think I would be half the therapist I am without her. Hopefully one day I'll be able to make it out to her office across the country soon!
I watch this video often, after having the same injury. I wish my husband would have been so caring as you are with this stranger. A wk after my injury he started complaining about the house not being clean and me being unable to stand on my foot at work. Thank you very much for caring for this young lady. I wish I would have received this type of love at home
You did a wonderful job! My therapist did a similar massage yesterday. You really don’t know how great you guys make us feel. I was so stiff prior to my appointment. I felt 100% after the massage
Does anyone know where she did her massage schooling at?????? I have gone through so many other people on UA-cam and none have satisfied me until I got here. Amazing work and her knowledge with the body is the absolute best. Her videos are excellent. Her channel has so much to offer. You’re great !!!!
Yes , all the strengthening and stretching exercises are just uncomfortable, and this is the only relaxing real rehabilitation video I have seen, I completely shattered my ankle in a car accident and well I can tell you I'm grateful to walk again but I have a little mean limp😭 I hope this helps ❤
Thank you so much for this video. I am so glad I found it. I just bought your Fault in Our Scars massage butter to do this massage on myself. I am 2 months post-op for a trimalleolar fracture in my ankle and have been walking for about 2 weeks. I have a 5-inch posterolateral incision between my Achilles and my fibula and a 2-inch medial incision on my medial malleolus. 13 screws, 2 plates total. There is very stiff and tough scar tissue on those sites now that it has healed and my ankle is also very stiff but it is slowly getting there. This video is extremely helpful and informative for me to do at home to reduce inflammation and increase mobility for me. Thank you so much!!!
I have a tri mall too and am 5 weeks out! Doing massage to my scars and poor cute, frankenankle and feels amazing. My PT and PTA say my scars feel great and that although I’ve got some significant knots and scar tissue, I’m headed in the right direction and doing pretty well overall :-) I hope you are too!
@@tanyasheel5205 Amazing! Thank you :-) I am also headed in the right direction and my doctor said my ankle is healing faster than anticipated with how I am taking care of it. It's crazy watching videos of my ankle that I took a few weeks ago and seeing the progress. It's so important to keep a positive outlook and have that strong sense of determination with these injuries without pushing too hard. Good luck to you and I'm glad to hear you are doing well overall!
Your injury sounds identical to mine, right down to the scarring and the plates and screws. Mine was 5 months ago. I'm walking pretty well now, and have no pain, but there's still stiffness, and some areas of numbness. Do you mind me asking, how long did it take for that side of things to improve for you? I still have a few physio appointments to go to, but I suppose I'm just impatient now!
I had a similar injury. Worst injury I have ever had. Some 9 years on and it still hurts. I wish I had discovered this treatment. The swelling lasted ages and I reckon this would have helped hasten the reduction in swelling.
Glad to know that I’m not alone in that I fractured my tibia and ankle roller skating 4 months ago. I’m just starting to be able to walk unassisted. Loving this massage tutorial. I wish you were working on my leg/ankle. 😔

This type of massage helps a lot. I broke my elbow while playing football, then I injured while playing football again with a cast. I had to do 2nd surgery because of it. When it was finally removed it my arm was stuck in this weird position. Going to massage really helped me to fix it back into normal position👍👍
I want to cry because I broke my fibula in December and still can not squat. I was a person who walked 16 miles a day, rode my bike for miles, to and from work, and in my line of work I need to be able to squat and run, two things I can no longer do. I only have a couple of physical therapy sessions left and I feel like I'll never recover. I don't have the money for massage therapy, chiropractic care, muscle and ligament scraping. It feels awful to be young, healthy, active then lose so much mobility
i broke my ankle is the summer of 2017 got surgery went to physical therapy and til this day it still hurts. it’s get stiff and lock up and is very sensitive to the cold. i always feel like i need a massage or i need it cracked. all i can do is roll my foot in circular motions hoping it’ll feel better😫😫
The sooner you can the better and less scar tissue will develope. Depending on the severity of your injury kicking it out forward opens the joint and realigns the tendons. Less swelling will occur and get it massaged to prevent arthritis.
You've probably been disintegrated by UA-cam since you posted this video, Ms. Rebel, but I just wanted to point out that although you may not be aware of this, you are probably one of the few massage therapists in the world who will undertake scar work. Or maybe it's just a British thing: I have a bad scar on my left elbow, and I literally cannot find a therapist in the UK who will massage it. None of them ever actually refuse to do so, or explain why they won't etc. - they just seem to be incapable of taking my request on board, or indeed of doing anything other than provided a heart-hearted squeeze of the upper-back muscles.
How soon after surgery can I get something like this? I’m 5 weeks post op, 4 days out of my cast and my foot is totally stiff. I want to be proactive and take responsibility for my healing journey.

I have almost this exact injury except I didn't need surgery (I had no widening in the joints of my ankle bones). Which I'm SO grateful for. I can feel the pain and stiffness she has. My PT was working a lot on my Achilles which is now sore, haha. I'm thinking I may find a massage therapist now after seeing this. Because I can feel a whole lot more stiffness and shortness in other muscles in my foot and ankle after having been in a boot for 6 weeks. Got my injury in a bike crash as I was twisting out of my pedals.
Hey, I just got my implants (plates & screws) removed as my broken ankle has healed but I have the post operation swelling and I’m afraid about the foot pronation. Will this massage help ??
How do I find someone who does massage for rehab and not necessarily relaxation. Do most massage places have people that do this or is it a specialty and if so what is it called so I can search my area for one. I tore my Achilles a long time ago and never got rehabbed correctly. Thanks.
I sustained a trimalleor ankle fracture 12/31/21. I have had 3 surgeries since the most recent 12/23/22 partial HWR removal. The scars (5) are tiny. How soon may I have this type of massage done? Thank you. ⚘️
With the metal work of the reconstruction surgery underneath, how do you judge force of pressure to apply against what is normal skin/adipose/muscle(s)/bone to what might be some additional metal work sitting above the surface of the bone; i.e. how much of the additional "firmness" is the scar tissue vs that there is something deep underneath that can never soften through massage ? From this comes my next query - is it possible to damage/bruise the underside of muscles against the metal work if too much pressure is applied, or is the clients report of discomfort sufficient guide ? This seems really tricky - too little force will not effect changes, too much risks discomfort and setting the patient back in freely increasing their activity levels.
This is, agreeably, very tricky. I find that it comes down to a combination of 3 things: 1 - communication with your client. 1 - experience of what tissues feel like. And 3 - deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Hope this helps!
Very good questions. As a Registered Massage Therapist in British Columbia, Canada, (I have trained for 3 years with 3000 hours) is very important to know what type of break. The mallolar fractures depend on their pining based on how the break is: vertical, chip, oblique, transverse, or communited. One can cause damage over structures if massaged incorrectly and even the pin and stretch can pull at the attachments by the pinned sites causing almost like a shredding effect. www.verywellhealth.com/kinds-of-medial-malleolus-fractures-broken-ankle-1337794 I really enjoy her videos but bilateral Mallolar fractures with the Masonneuve fracture ( spiral fracture of the proximal third of the fibula, tear of the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis and interosseous membrane, with rupture of the deltoid ligament ), even after 4 months, I would not be manipulating some muscles the way she does because they will be stabilizing for life and some of the scar tissue is necessary for protection and stabilization.
I have a bad right ankle but I've never broken anything. My lateral ligament is really messed up and I probably have arthritis. Massage really makes it feel better.
I have a client with a very similar issue! Thank you so much! I was wondering if you’re clients foot gets warm after the treatment? My clients does and it feels like she might have an infection, there’s visible clear red fluid. I iced it and recommended a dr. I did a lot of what you did.

I think they are not models but her clients who come in for a therapy session n she has worked on male clients, there are videos in her channel with male clients.
The reason why these kind of videos are so popular is because, in real life, you can't find a therapist to massage a scar for love nor money. I've had a scar tissue problem on my left elbow for about 20 years, and although I've had lots of massages, I have literally never found a therapist who will go anywhere near it. But then again, I'm in the UK, where everything (not just massage) is really half-arsed and amateurish, and no-one actually wants to do the work that they're paid for - so maybe that explains it.

@@SethMacLeod95 I got two rods and 27 screens so it still looks swollen no matter what. But I can walk around the mall now but at the expense of my knee also hurting due to the limping

Agreed - Great work!
I really need to find someone to do this for me. I am a massage therapist but cant do this to myself. I suffered from a trimalleolar fracture and am in recovery.
Thnx for sharing❤
Just out of curiosity is there a reason why you never use male models? I love your videos
I do also.i was just curious that's all.
I think they are not models but her clients who come in for a therapy session n she has worked on male clients, there are videos in her channel with male clients.
@@sarthakpattanaikdas4760 ok thanks
Do you encourage you patients to drink lots of water before and after a massage?
The reason why these kind of videos are so popular is because, in real life, you can't find a therapist to massage a scar for love nor money. I've had a scar tissue problem on my left elbow for about 20 years, and although I've had lots of massages, I have literally never found a therapist who will go anywhere near it. But then again, I'm in the UK, where everything (not just massage) is really half-arsed and amateurish, and no-one actually wants to do the work that they're paid for - so maybe that explains it.
