I had a client with a tight Teres Major. I didn't know what muscle it was at the time. It's oddly great when i get a client with a tight muscle that I'm not papationaly familiar with; So good for learning, and your videos are great!.

Sigh, just listening to the process, your hands interpreting into the body your words; a painting, layers of medium, stroke by stroke, reveals thought behind words; intention infiltrates and purifies....
The privilege of sharing a session with you - such a richness .

I wish I could work my own lats! I have be experiencing some inflexibility and feelings of slight restriction when using my upper body lately. Ive been unable to locate the source of my issue with my lacrosse ball (which I roll around on almost everyday). Stretching would help, but only until I had to engage the upper body and my arms again. I've been getting quite frustrated being a massage therapist professionally.
Especially a massage therapist who is unable to locate or effectively treat her own issues! Gah! I wasn't even thinking about this group as the source, but when i pulled on my own lats while in a seated position. I was like ohhhh man! This is definitely an area I've been neglecting! Even just a short amount of gentle kneeding in my la , helped my shoulder blade find a more comfortable position in which to rest. My upper arm doesnt feel as restricted when checking my range of motion. Sweet! Now I can add the right stretches to my routine!! Now I can easily tough up these muscles when doing my general back and arm routine on my clients! Thanks a bunch!!

I've been a qualified Sports Massage Therapist since 2005, and I find your channel refreshing and informative. I do find that my left wrist is now showing signs of arthritis - mainly aching - so I have to wonder how long I have left? But I've modified my strokes and pressure application which seems to help. I would like to ask, what session duration do you work to when treating a client?
Keep up the good work. All the best from South Wales, UK.

This technique will take some time & practice to master but I like it a lot! Thank you! I have so many clients who believe hard pressure is the answer. I have a difficult time trying to explain to them that is double work for me when you're not letting go. You have to let go first. I can see some of them having a problem with this technique because I can't drive my elbow into it. So in their head it isn't doing anything for them. It can be frustrating when I'm working an area like this & they respond with, "Don't worry, you're not gonna hurt me if you dig in more." Or "Feel free to use that elbow." They aren't even letting go yet. Patience please. 🧘‍♀️ 🙏

Thank you very much for your great videos. I have a quick question, when I tried out some of your technique such as moving the arm to the side and then forward, my model experienced a little bit of pins and needles in their hand. I moved their arm back to their side but what can I do to prevent this nerve impingement and why do you think it came about? Any suggest helpful.

I’m watching this because my therapist did this work on me. She would ask me to wear a sleeveless shirt. I never did because I would always think, you don’t have to get down that far. So, I never did. I just wore a short sleeve t shirt. So here’s the problem. I had shoulder surgery. The surgeon didn’t do everything they were supposed to. To make a long story short, I didn’t need to get that area worked on. I still need my shoulder worked on. It’s looking like I’m going back in for rotator cuff surgery.

Maybe another way to put it that you might not object to is to say I had appreciate her working the lateral scapula when so often people come in complaining of medial lower or scapular soreness. They don’t realize that the subscap and lats have been reaching forward and the discomfort they’re having mid back is not necessarily all attributed to the spot where they feel it.
