On this day in 1978 {February 4th} L.T.D. performed "(Every Time I Turn Around) Back In Love Again" on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'... four months earlier on October 15th, 1977 it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #4 and spent 19 weeks on the Top 100... And on November 5th, 1977 it reached #1 {for 2 weeks} on Billboard's Hot Soul Singles chart... Jeffrey Osborne was a member of the group from 1970 to 1980... R.I.P. Mr. Clark {1929 - 2012}...
Jeffrey is amazing. Sounds as good as he ever has. He's ageless (well, except for his hair ;-) ). Something To Love is the first album I ever bought with my allowance money. I just stared at the cover and fantasized about being in a band that had those cool spacey outfits. :-) Keep on killin' it, Jeffrey!
I play this video every now and then to lift my spirits. I think this is about the best live performance I have seen in a video. Perfect sound, everyone on point. The display of talent makes me remember when music was actually something that took effort and talent. Call me an old lady, but what is called music now and talent just can't come close to this.
THE HORN SECTION IS THE BOMB!!!
Jeffery is awesome...that horn section is kick ass.
