Prince was a GENIUS!! He still lives on through Morris Day & The Time!! These songs are still FIRE to this day!! This was AWESOME!!
I love that Prince’s magic still lives on!! I’m forever an adoring fan of Prince! Love The Time!! 💜💜💜💜🔥💜❤️
They were all in a group together. Morris played the drums. Prince started a solo career. They no longer had a lead singer so he came from behind those drums lol. No surprise that they sound alike. Starting playing together since high school.
Amazingly beautiful
Yup
I was having the best romantic part of my life when they were out
Went to the movie and listened to prince and Morris, etc
This is what timeless music looks like. This is what stage presence looks like - I hope I get to see them live
Morris Day and the Time never gets old...
Amen

@Msshadylady21, The whole audience was up dancing, singing, & loving it!
Every age! It was electrifying & one of the best hyped audience’s & on their feet enjoying a performance that I have seen.
They had the top 3 or top 5 audience loving it & enjoying themselves in the history of award shows of all time.
Morris Day & The time are in the top 5 of audiences at ward shows enjoying themselves.
Top 3
Yes ,you are right. The young people in the audience was exciting to watch, but I was referring in general, the younger generation of today.
I'm on the same page with you 💯 percent. This generation honestly need to study a page from this book. This performance was excellent.
Man! Prince was a genius to create a masterpiece along with Morris.
Omg, I was in the audience. This entire show was COLD BLOODED!! Bring this kinda funk music back!!
@Ezarhia do you have any idea what the name of the guitarist is? I can't find the info anywhere! TIA.

So true! That’s a great observation.
Them, James Brown, Prince.... Hes definitely inspired by the GREATS!

The performance was excellent. Mr. Morris Day and the Time need to be honored in the rock n roll hall of fame. These legends deserve the Soul Train Legend Award. Don Cornelius would be proud. I hope they give it to the Whispers next.

True i like to see the real time band all the first members all get in that movie purple rain as i watched it over great flick glad it was done at that time Prince showed the whole world how good he really was as he had all the actors in place and some funny stuff as well a part i liked was morris and Jerome was coming on the stage to perform they were about to walk up the steps ran into Prince and Morris said stick around let me show you how its done Jerome was helpping Prince close his jacket that Prince had on as to say leave i was like dam thats classic funny as hell
Prince really made a hit group when he put The Time together. Morris Day was a drummer when Prince asked him to be lead singer. 💜💜💜
Morris and Jerome doin it up!!!!
One of Prince's best creations for sure!
If you’re an 80’s baby you know how legendary this is 🔥🔥🔥

But didn't realize Morris was the only member performing, everyone else were rentals!?
Me too, from ear to ear! 😍
Me too🔥
the Houseband. At least some are the same musicians, as seen with the JiimyJam/Terry Lewis-Performance he did, or some of them who went on stage with Prince and Sheila E on The ALMA's. As i've seen it twice now, i saw some familiar faces. I guess this was done to prove a nasty point in the ongoing legal debate with the Prince-Estate, who own the NAME "the Time". Morris gets a kick out of hearing the synth lines done by real horns he said.
sometimes it's not for cheapness or "fakeness" or whatever, sometimes it's the business itself, shooting itself in the leg. That didn't stop Uncle Mo from doing this properly for one last TIME.
Lordy, I got so full and teary-eyed watching this. I'm 63 and still doing the bird!! They were in their 20s when they came out and so was I. The nostalgia is real!! I still have their albums!🤩🤩
Yes!!! Took me way back!
Same here, my late husband and I danced to this and pilrdy the kids in the car to watch purple rain at the drive in. Wonderful memories.
I thought I was the only one with tears in her eyes - Took me to another time, place and space!!
It fills your heart to know after everything we’re still here too.
Morris ...what can I say ... Jerome too! It’s called Legends.....Badd boys from this Music industry !!! Love you Brothers....

They do most of they're shows in clubs in Minneapolis.. on a regular basis I have a ball everytime I went to see them
Last night, Irving, Texas: Jody Watley, Midnight Star, Confunkshun, The Zapp Band, and the final act, Morris Day and the Time. No way will there be a better show this year.

What a way to retire! 40years you've blessed us with your talent from highschool dances, on the way to work, the butterflies seeing you live. I'm a white dude and had this album in 1981.I'd be blasting this full blast and the brothers would ask who it was...been a fan over 40 years. Morris Day is the coolest cat ever.
I bought 'What Time Is It' on cassette at Rosedale Mall (Twin Cities) in 1984. I had heard it before that, but didn't have enough cash to buy it when it came out (1982, when I was 12). The record store clerk even gave me a nod of recognition. (This won't make sense to anyone born after 2000 or so) Awesome band!
That was a have to have in 84!!
Indeed
Ethnicity has nothing to do with music taste.
I am white and grew up in the Motown era and every white person I knew loved Motown. Charlie Pride was the first black person to be a country music star and now we have Darius Rucker, who is a member of the Grand Ol’ Opry.
This type music makes me appreciate my dad for exposing me to this music as early as I can remember and many more as a'92 baby. So glad I got the chance to dance sing and play instruments and listen to music with my dad growing up and having those memories stay with me before he passed this year. Rip daddy ❤ I miss you...

Keeping it classy. Suits and ties. This is how it can be done. You can perform with clothes. What's been out the last 15 or 20 years has been like a contest on who can wear the least clothing. Self respect never goes out of style.
