I agree, but there's a difference between subtle surrealism that gives you goosebumps and takes you further down that uncanny valley and straightforward dumbness that kills all immersion. Sadly, Capcom tends to go for the latter.
My favorite RE4 dialogue that they never used: Saddler: "The American prevailing is a cliche from your Hollywood movies." Leon: "So is the villain turning into a giant monster." (pause) "Go on. Proceed."
Man, if they made the rest of the game this scary I'm not sure I'll survive the part with the regenerators. That was MY "I'm going to just put the controller down forever and Leon lives here now" moment in a video game. I did eventually return to finish it but it took months to pick it up again!

I like the idea of hitting a "zombie" with an egg turns them good. *splat* "Oh wow... uh, who are you, senor? What? I was trying to KILL you just now? Why would I do that? Boy, I sure do have EGG ON MY FACE!" 🤪
Salazar: I've sent my right hand to dispose of you. Leon: Your right hand comes off? Andy: He hasn't taken his hand off, Leon! me: Are you sure? This is Resi, someone removing their hand and it turning into some gross monster would be far from the strangest thing we've seen. I mean we've got leech zombies, a nine-foot-tall trash bag wearing Nemmy turning progressively more doglike with each fire bath, and... whatever you want to make of the whole Baker family aesthetic. Highly looking forward to Andy's playthrough of this.

@@kd9749 The drop in quality is I believe because a smaller B team was working on 3 while the main team was working on 2. Resident Evil 4 seems to be getting full attention from Capcom.
@@kd9749 That's because 2 different teams worked in 2 and 3. The team that did re3r initially started working on 4 but got fired because of how horrible 3 did. It's the team that did re2r whose making 4r. That's still not a good sign though since they cut like half of the content out from the original re2 including pretty much all music and the whole a and b scenarios affecting each other and each Character doing something unique compared to the other. Hopefully not as much is cut from 4 remake. They did say the length is the same as the original so that's something I'll hold them to.

Disagree with you saying they should have replaced the spin kick with a shove. That would have been beyond stupid and I would have hated it. I came for RE4 and I want RE4. That includes all the gameplay elements of the original, only modernized.
"gets rid of the clunkiness of the controls" I feel like that actually adds a lot to the game. I struggled through it the first few times I attempted to play it and my heart was racing the entire time.
The "clunkyness" benefits the game because you have to think about your positioning more. People are quick to disregard anything that isn't the boring standard we have now days.
Can you do a video titled 7 times your best friend or friend was a boss or the final boss? Five suggestions for this list is Riku from Kingdom Hearts Pixy from Ace Combat 0 The Belkan War, any Undertale character, Gunther from Fire Emblem Fates Revelation, and Edelgard,Dimitri, and/or Claude (depending on the route you choice) from Fire Emblem Three Houses.
Good to know that the ridiculousness of the game will be carefully preserved. :) I remember watching one of my old favorite UA-camrs play the original, and I"m looking forward to seeing the REmake in action!
The most hilarious memory I have of RE4 was a part where Ashley is following beside you but up on a ledge. I wondered: Can I aim the camera up her skirt? The camera suddenly wouldn't let you aim in that direction but Ashley would yell "Leon, you pervert!" for trying. That was on the original GameCube version. When I saw a buddy get there on the crappy PS3 port and told him to do it, the dialog was removed. GameCube aim was actually spot on and was probably the only good use of those awkward controllers.
You can actually do it. The most reliable way I've found is by looking up at her when she's on the second floor of the house where Luis, Ashley and you, get surrounded by ganados
I'd say keep that Trapped Wolf alive because it represents the Action of Kindness: You help the Wolf get out of that bear trap, it returns the favor by helping you kill the El Gigante, but good
...How is it weird for a special agent to have martial arts training? After REmake 2, why would he NOT be as prepared as possible? If I survived that outbreak, I'd learn as much as possible to have a better chance of survival, just in case.
Leon looks like the same person, it it looks like they “recast” the sidekick girl. Now she looks like an older, Silent Hill character. Maybe it’s like how the Spider-Man game had to totally change the lead actor’s face for some dumb legal reason, or maybe they wanted to revamp the character.
The attachment case was the best part nothing was more satisfying than pausing your game and looking at all the equipment you've acquired you're like yeah I'm definitely set for this boss fight I got like 6 first aid sprays 45 shotgun bullets 33 sniper bullets and an RPG with the tmp with 480 bullets I'm good. However I did see that the knife is in your inventory as a weapon that is going to be annoying
Admission nothing, I love RE:4. This list is just seven "Yes!" ✊-pumps in a row. The egg-one was the most important for me 🤩. Only, Leon's jacket doesn't look as badass as the original 😭.
I want to go into RE4 Remake as blind as possible so unfortunately I won't be watching this video until I play it myself first. Still I'll leave a like and support comment for you wonderful People. Keep up the amazing work and content.👍💜😃
I wonder if they'll still keep it to where you do not need to kill a single enemy in the main village section. Once you trigger the scene with Dr Salvador all you have to do is just keep running around and you don't need to kill a single person. After a certain amount of time passes the bell will ring. Now every time I play it I do just that so I don't waste any ammo.
I think we saw with Nemesis that Capcom had less than zero clue what they're doing. Mr X was too scary in their horror game, so they toned down Nemesis in a game called RE:Nemesis and expected success. Good news. Capcom has already excitingly announced they designed magic dumpsters in every location for Ashley to hide in...so you don't have to deal with her! Ok. Why are you remaking the game who's main mechanic was protecting Ashley. I know the rep escort quests have, but I loved protecting her. It helped young me be braver, for her. If they didn't want to redesign her, why not do Code Veronica?? That way we'd get to see a remade Chris.

It won’t, the drop in quality between 2 Remake and 3 Remake should concern everyone.
@@kd9749 The drop in quality is I believe because a smaller B team was working on 3 while the main team was working on 2. Resident Evil 4 seems to be getting full attention from Capcom.
@@kd9749 a secondary development team + short development time.
Leon wasnt saying bill for the repair of the cow, he was saying bill for the repair of the lamp.
I remember all of these except I never knew you could throw eggs at enemies.
Sounds like therell be even more one Leoners in the remake, he never said the bill for repairs one in the original.
The egg thing was also in Resident Evil 5. Rotten eggs were a one hit kill if I remember correctly
The first resident evil directors cut is one of the first games I ever played. Played every single one since.
Oh, you mean Resident Evil Remake/Remaster. Beautiful game! I love that Oxbox is using a lot of its music, it's so amazing (Guess it's so old it's in the public domain now)
@@mar_speedman No he's not talking about the remake he's talking about the ps1 version called directors cut. It had a new soundtrack, dualshock support, and new modes.
@@energeticyellow1637 I don’t think those controls are clunky at all tbh
Best of luck getting into the studio again soon, though being away from it does give you more freedom with your backgrounds
3:17 you see Leon roundhouse kick two people in the gameplay demo
I Love inventory management/Tetris in resident Evil 4/7/8 🥰
Can you do a video titled 7 times your best friend or friend was a boss or the final boss? Five suggestions for this list is Riku from Kingdom Hearts Pixy from Ace Combat 0 The Belkan War, any Undertale character, Gunther from Fire Emblem Fates Revelation, and Edelgard,Dimitri, and/or Claude (depending on the route you choice) from Fire Emblem Three Houses.
They have.
@@CodaBlairLucarioEmperor no they have not done this video
@@theelectricgamer9889 I thought they did. I must've gotten it confused with a thumbnail from another channel.
Leon somehow giving off real “You’re telling me a shrimp fried this rice?” vibes
The dialog of her saying that thankfully is in the ps4 version. I just started a new game and beat it last week.
How are the gamecube controllers awkward
You can actually do it. The most reliable way I've found is by looking up at her when she's on the second floor of the house where Luis, Ashley and you, get surrounded by ganados
One of my favorite video game franchises. Can't wait until Friday!
I'd say keep that Trapped Wolf alive because it represents the Action of Kindness: You help the Wolf get out of that bear trap, it returns the favor by helping you kill the El Gigante, but good
“Chandlerization” needs to become a thing.
If I don't have a burning man jumping at me from inside the oven, I'll riot
...How is it weird for a special agent to have martial arts training?
After REmake 2, why would he NOT be as prepared as possible? If I survived that outbreak, I'd learn as much as possible to have a better chance of survival, just in case.
To add, after he was recruited by the govt and basically given a "work for us or you have to die for knowing too much"
Of course he's got training
@@DarkFlamecreator Also the implication Sherry's freedom and safety hinged on him agreeing to be an agent.
Oh yes, my favorite egg farming simulator is back!
Man I hope the Ditman glitch is kept for the remake, although it was a glitch I hope it gets hardcoded as a feature.
I said this once and I'll say it again: RE4 doesn't need a remake. Code Veronica does.
Not Luke and Andy shading Leon like someone's hand coming off could never happen in a resi game 😂
14:19 That moment when Andy stuffed Luke into a bin...
“Picture of a Spitfire”
Steady on, Partridge 😂
Pretty sure this time they used an actual coat from a designer, hopefully the designer paid to have it put in, rather than vice versa.
10:40 No! I'm still recovering from Matthew Perry shooting me in the face in Fallout New Vegas!
I do enjoy these analysis videos you do, I always watch the RDR2 story analysis video you did years ago
On Outside Xtra? Did Jane and MIke tell Andy "No more Resi 4 remake videos!"?
Matthew Perry as Leon in a hilarious short or parody please omg I'm cracking up at that bit
Can we have a full playthrough please~ :D I will never play this game but I will very happily watch it from start to finish.
You simply *must* have a full Resi play through from Andy for all the good Resis. Why, it's unfeasible to not get a full playthrough of Resi4 Remake!
You guys say “dumb”, I say “ridiculously awesome!”
I'd friggin marry this game if I could, Luke!
I played Resident Evil 4 multiple times. I never knew you could throw the egg. Haha.
Man really just said “so few bullets” in re4 you can literally kill every enemy with a gun and end the game with a comfortable amount of ammo
I loved re 4 and I’m so tempted to play it again.
But right now I don’t remember all of it and I want to go into the remake somewhat fresh.
Please do a full playthrough of this when it comes out.
I want to go into RE4 Remake as blind as possible so unfortunately I won't be watching this video until I play it myself first.
Still I'll leave a like and support comment for you wonderful People.
Keep up the amazing work and content.👍💜😃
Wonder if they are going to leave mecha-Salazar chase...
Well, if we take into consideration that Leon's already a traned agent... Are spin, back, or wathever kicks really weird?
It needs to be just as long as the original.
Capcom says the length is still the same.
@@terry85mar Ahhh, I'll buy it at a high price!
Can’t wait for this game, great insights guys
Dante Ravioli has videos where he kills a Dr. Salvador using only an egg. he also kills verdugo using only a door :)
I never thought I'd be so happy about egg laying mechanics
Magic dumpsters were literally in the original.
4:07 Sphere Hunter called it without playing it
I've always missed the ganados when I threw the egg too
Might need to play all the "recent" (released since 6) games soon. I did quite enjoy 4, so this could be exciting. Mind you, I also enjoyed 5 coop with my brother, and the TV show so maybe I'm weird.
7 is great until you get to the ship. 8 is just a great ride the whole way through.
@@jakushkadarkstalker6278 eh, ship's fine. It's a linear shooting gallery yes.... but literally every final area of every resident evil game, even the best ones, are.
No , i am THE OG Hardcor RE fan , I talk 100% the OG up to 5(6 about 50% let’s say maybe more, i liked it the least) i disappeare in these storys , those characters , their backstories, i am a Resi-lexica^^ for real :D i take ghe time to not read but appreciate the documents 😎
5 is on itself a Really good and enjoyable game (the multiplayer just adds , had TONS of fun with my BFF back then and later on my younger brother grew both in height and Resi-Interest, so i played it more or less constantly over a decade:D) as i said , it is a really good gsme , just not that good of a resi game. Though compared to 6 , it does eth right -> like OG StarWars compared to disney :D disney being 6:D but that it with 5 it still has somewhag of a Resi Soul +being a good game itself so even we OG fans could enjoy it. I am a wesler Fanboy, si maybe it’s that^^ i hope they do a remake of 5 but abandon it“completly“ and use the chance to direct -this turning point“:)
code names are not necessarily meant to hide peoples identities, sometimes they are used to quickly and unambiguously identify people, especially over poor sound quality coms.
True. But that still does not explain why he felt compelled to use both the code name and clarifying that it is the president's daughter.
@@fendelphi gameplay and story segregation, we poor stupid gamers cant be expected to figure it out on our own can we?
@@ANonymous-fq5ky That's true. Also the comm to Hunnigan is probably encrypted. If he was NOT talking to Hunnigan I don't think he'd have said that.
Shooting the crows to get money makes me think the Spanish villagers use the crows like carrier pigeons to send money kind of like a vintage paypal lol.
If you can get money out of a crow is it simply holding it in....escrow?
It sounds like Luke and Andy spent a large portion of their demo time just tormenting birds.
The speed runs are gonna be madness
Ethan "Boulderpuncher" Redfield is a relatable everyman?
Looks like I've been skipping punching boulders in my daily routine.
Hope it still has the Suplex. Man that was DOPE.
I'm hoping the bear traps are still in the game so I can put Ashley in the suit of armour walk her into one and start unloading the machine gun and grenade launcher at her. WHAT!?!? You would have done too if you had thought of it!!! She's just SO annoying!!!
Resident Evil games are back!
Who else is gonna mix items normally instead of the quickcraft?
5:57. Andy's wearing a ghost hat
Shooting money out of crows is a very realistic dynamic. They are attracted to shiny objects and will steal them from you. Money, jewelry, gems, anime eyes, Ke$ha's fecal matter...
I mean who knows maybe I will finally play this game with this remake.
I noped out before I even made it out of the village when I played it when I was younger , I have not picked it up since lol
The original has been available on ps4 and 5 and pc for like 19 dollars for yeasts now
