(this is random but I had to share, i'm sorry) I died during this story for many reasons but one of them is that I've heard it again today and now I understood it right (i'm a non native english speaker btw) instead of "dairy issues" I've heard "i have some daddy issues" and i had forgotten "time outs" were the name of the chocolate so I thought they were having some weird extra fun with the punishment or whatever, jfc 💀

Exactly my thought process. But it could be that he doesn’t want to have to go out and buy/order new ones too often cause it feels uncomfortable? That doesn’t really explain why he showed her though. As an awkward person, it could’ve been a spur of the moment lapse in judgement, but I’m guessing Louises book has details that contradict this anyway.
