You and Bob are angels for adopting that little dog. Giving him a chance to have a wonderful life in a wonderful home with loving people. Love and time. Your right on track! Thank you for sharing your new family member!❤️
Awhhh Wendy, I’m tearing up. What a lovely thing you have done , to welcome this precious dog into your lives. You have the amazing skills to show Milo that he is now safe and very much loved. I have a rescue dog also. She fears most other dogs, but loves people. I do the same, I am able to hike with her off-leash every morning. She is now 8 years old, and is my hiking buddy for life . - British Gal in Washington State.
WHAT A NEAT LOOKING DOG, MILO IS. THAT TAIL WHEN HE CURLS IT UP & THOSE POINTY EARS & THE 4 WHITE PAWS, ALSO THAT PRETY BLACK COAT. THAT PARK WAS BEAUITFUL, W/ THE MOUNTAINS IN THE FOR GROUND. WHAT A BLESSING TO LIVE UP THERE. THANKS FOR SHAREING. Do take care. Fl., USA
Wendy he is beautiful and such a smart fellow. He seems protective and very alert of surroundings. I feel your heart as you talk about him and touch him ❤ he is a lucky dog and will get that all figured out in time. It's ok to give us updates on him we love all you do and his journey is our journey also.😊 😊
As the Mom of 2 rescues (one with very challenging issues) and having spent time volunteering in the rescue community, I thank you so much for saving this sweet soul. You seem to be perfect for helping him get over issues created by his past. It takes a lot of patience, but so worth it! I enjoy your camping videos so I'm looking forward to you having Milo with you in the future. ❤
What a handsome fellow! Thanks for introducing us to Milo! You and Bob seem like experienced dog parents, I bet he'll become a wonderful and surprising (in good ways!) companion over time.
Milo is a beautiful dog. That tail is luscious. Love how it curls up as he walks. Good luck with him. Your consistent love and patience is paying off. 😊
Milo is such a lucky dog. He will feel that soon. We have a apprehensive dog, change, us leaving, or being in the car and loud noises. We found essential oils especially for furbabies. Vet recommended for stress and calming. We put it on a cotton ball in the car, her sleep pad or on a lovie. It is amazing how it helps her. It isnt ingested so no GI side effects. We prefer natural ways for her than chemical. He is a beautiful boy! Thank you for saving him.
Milo, you have landed in a wonderful spot! We, too have a rescue from a high kill shelter and after five years find it hard to imagine life without our Augie. Well done, Wendy and Bob!
Oh wow 🎉congrats ! Best of luck with Milo- he’s been thru a lot so can understand why he’s nervous and anxious. Flight risk is scary. But you have taken the right precautions. I rescued a shelter dog in the past. It takes a lot of patience and time. Thank you for giving him a loving home.
How lucky you all are!! Looking forward to many videos of you along with a happy little camper enjoying the outdoors. A great name for a handsome lad!!!
😊Milo! He is beautiful! Wendy, what a blessing for you and Bob and for sweet Milo as well! He will settle in and I hope he becomes your constant companion during your travels. 🐾❤
Congratulations! Milo is one lucky dog. My last dog was the same size and was stray (in a rural part of the US) her first year, so a lot of what you describe is familiar. She always had a high prey drive, which isn’t surprising. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t have survived! I used that to my advantage, though. She really took to clicker training with food rewards. Some dogs like to be rewarded with a toy, but from the way Milo was picking up things off the ground to eat, I bet small bits of training treats would work well with him. Mine was also highly intelligent, and Milo sounds the same. Another outcome, I think, of surviving on their own and can work to your advantage if you make training a fun and interesting game. I bet he will learn quickly, as did mine. As you said, it took a good six months and lots of patience before she and I adjusted, but she was the best dog I’ve ever owned. I hope you find the same with Milo. ❤
thanks for your suggestions and comments- I am just now starting gentle training- He does respond to treats and seems motivated to learn. Here is hoping- I am pretty positive about him
Congratulations to you and hubby with the new addition to your family Milo is a good looking dog thanks for rescuing him. , he will make a great buddie. They are protective and loyal to their family , smart & curious for sure, He will have a wonderful life with you folks with socialization and training. bless you folks and Milo . London, Ont.
Wendy! What a sleek, streamlined, long-legged beautiful new fur baby you & Bob have. Just like for some people, it sounds like he has had quite the story of challenges to come through on his journey to you both. I am very happy for you all, and what a great companion for some of your future adventures. Thanks for sharing! 🥰👍
Sweet dog. He has lost so many humans that were dear to him so he’s not letting you guys out of his sight. In three months he will begin to relax a little and feel that you are his new home. A harness and a collar are great so that he can be attached by both. If frightened the collar alone won’t secure him. Thank you for giving him a loving home.
Oh how grateful and happy I am that you took him to you.🐕 God bless you both.🙏❤ He has such a nice, beautiful coat, but I hope he could put on just a little weight so he has a bit more resistance. I can see he's a bit nervous, I've even had a dog that had the same expression, but he'll probably calm down and find out he's in the care of safe, loving people❤❤❤ and will start to relax more and more. As you say, it takes some time and you can't rush it. Also when he knows which territories are his will help. Preferably do not greet too many other dogs for some time for several reasons. He needs to know that at home in the family, the guide dogs are you and Bob. Which determines and provides peace and security. Thank you very much for you. I'm glad.😊. I also can't do without a dog, I've had it all my life and I'm now 63. And it's good that you take a little break for the dog's sake. In any case, you don't have to worry about that, completely understandable and very responsible. Wishing you all the very best. Good luck with everything, and hearty congratulations to Milo, the dear lovable dog who is lucky to be in your safe hands🥰. Many loving thoughts and greetings Liv Maria Denmark.😊😘❤🙏
hello Liv Marie- thank you very much for your comments and suggestions. We really appreciate your support and interest. Yes, we are taking all things slowly.
You are giving him time and love. Bless you and your husband! Your priorities are spot on! That nervous energy is getting burned off with those lovely walks! ❤
What a lovely dog Milo is. The Jindos I had growing up were very smart and loyal, and at the same time independant. I loved them for that. Not the most cuddly and attached, and not needy either, but once a bond is formed, Milo will be an amazing companion.
thank you for sharing your experience. We are having to learn about this breed. Independent for sure but at the same time quite gentle and loving. Any thoughts about dealing with the very strong prey drive? 😂 Once on to something he doesn't give up.
Oh aren't you all (3) lucky!!! What a fine looking fellow ; ) Watching your vids, I get the feeling you, Milo and Bob will be a wonderful family! So pleased for you! Go Mutts! (if you don't follow 'Mutts' comics, you should!). Good luck with all the transitions and such. Slow and steady will win his heart, I'm sure. ❤❤❤ with fond wishes from Miss P, Nan and Me in Maine
Oh my gosh, I’ve had a Thai street dog for over 6 years now, he overcame some pretty brutal injuries. And now he’s the most charming, clever, grumpy man I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. They’re so rewarding! Enjoy!!
What a wonderful addition to your family, Wendy. The hug at the end of the video shows a lot of promise with trust-building. I look forward to seeing more of Milo in the future!
He’s handsome! My friends (during Covid) adopted the shyest little black and white dog. Now she is the most confident little girl…even greeting other campers as they walk by.
Looks like a nice addition to the family Wendy, I have had many rescue dogs over the years and it can be a little hard at first but they are very loyal friends once they trust you .I have never looked for a dog they always seem to find me I have two now that nobody wanted but me.
Milo seems very strong and independent. He is his own boss. Once he feels secure and bonds completely, he will drop this characteristic and be super loving and relax more ❤

Thank you for giving him a chance. The walks are such a good idea. I used to rescue and place retired racing greyhounds and personally owned five of them over the years. They all were individuals and needed time to adjust. You and Bob will be perfect for him. He will enjoy all the adventures you go on.
Oh Wendy, what a beautiful thing to do in giving Milo a home! He couldn't have landed in a more kind and understanding home. Fingers crossed with love and time he will settle well.
Lucky Milo! Thanks for taking him in. I hope he can be a camping buddy...mine are not campers so I put up a tent up in my fenced in yard and camp with them in there and we all love it.
I love that “not having pets wasn’t working for us”. He’s about to have the best adventures!
