- Please come along and meet our new family member, Milo. He is a 5 year old Jindo cross rescued from a high kill kennel in Korea. He came to us August 25 and we have all been working at our own adjustments and attachments since! Right now he requires a lot of our time as change is very hard for him. Each day usually shows some improvements but the process is not without the odd set back. We can see he is slowly coming to us more and is more relaxed but we all have a ways to go . He is a lovely little fellow who really just wants to be loved but isn't too sure if he can really trust us yet. However, we are getting there!!
I love that “not having pets wasn’t working for us”. He’s about to have the best adventures!
Thank you for rescuing Milo. I’m so glad he is in a stable home with you. ❤
we are happy to have him
Thank you for rescuing, it all takes time and trust.
thanks Peggy

Awhhh Wendy, I’m tearing up. What a lovely thing you have done , to welcome this precious dog into your lives. You have the amazing skills to show Milo that he is now safe and very much loved.
I have a rescue dog also. She fears most other dogs, but loves people.
I do the same, I am able to hike with her off-leash every morning. She is now 8 years old, and is my hiking buddy for life .
- British Gal in Washington State.
that is encouraging. I can't imagine off leash walking today but here is hoping for the future. thanks

Good for you and Bob, Wendy! I’m keeping my fingers & toes crossed for you that he will be a great camping companion for you in the near future. He’s a beautiful mix in my eyes. I love both the Jindo and Akita breeds.

Thank you so much for what you are doing. Don't give up on him. He looks like a sweetie. Praying for Milo's recovery
thank you Bella- he is coming along-
As the Mom of 2 rescues (one with very challenging issues) and having spent time volunteering in the rescue community, I thank you so much for saving this sweet soul. You seem to be perfect for helping him get over issues created by his past. It takes a lot of patience, but so worth it! I enjoy your camping videos so I'm looking forward to you having Milo with you in the future. ❤
So am I but it may be a while yet. Thanks for watching. Great work you do.
Congratulations! Having a dog is the best!
you are right there!
Welcome to Vancouver Island Milo! You've found a good forever home where you can have fun adventures once you're all settled in.❤
thanks Marg- So far he seems to like it- will hope to get him out in the van to camp before too long. 🤞
Wendy! What a sleek, streamlined, long-legged beautiful new fur baby you & Bob have. Just like for some people, it sounds like he has had quite the story of challenges to come through on his journey to you both. I am very happy for you all, and what a great companion for some of your future adventures. Thanks for sharing! 🥰👍
thanks for you comments- He is coming along day by day.
❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️ Milo 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾
thank you
What a wonderful addition to your family, Wendy. The hug at the end of the video shows a lot of promise with trust-building.
I look forward to seeing more of Milo in the future!
Thank you so much!
Nice to meet Milo and of course he will eventually go with you for camping... can't wait to see both of you having fun in the wilderness :)
Me too!
Lucky Milo, bless your heart
Lucky us!
Sweet dog. He has lost so many humans that were dear to him so he’s not letting you guys out of his sight. In three months he will begin to relax a little and feel that you are his new home. A harness and a collar are great so that he can be attached by both. If frightened the collar alone won’t secure him. Thank you for giving him a loving home.
we are looking forward to that-
All the best wishes and love for Milo 🐕❤
thank you
Oh aren't you all (3) lucky!!! What a fine looking fellow ; ) Watching your vids, I get the feeling you, Milo and Bob will be a wonderful family! So pleased for you! Go Mutts! (if you don't follow 'Mutts' comics, you should!).
Good luck with all the transitions and such. Slow and steady will win his heart, I'm sure. ❤❤❤ with fond wishes from Miss P, Nan and Me in Maine
thanks to all of you
a rescue will always paid you back . good live together.
thanks you, so far its going well.
What a wonderful thing to do … for you AND Milo. Once he gets more relaxed you will have so many sweet adventures together!😊❤
I hope so too! Thank you Cynthia
Welcome Milo! Love his tail!😊
It is a bushy one for sure. !!!
Hes a cute dog! He must be able to hear so much with those big ears! He does look very alert about everything, you and Bob are doing such a good job with him! I watched the Dog Whisperer - Cesar Milan - and picked up a few ideas about how to work with my dog (in addition to other dog training sources) and his videos were inspiring to see how dogs change with training. thank you for the update today!
those ears are always working. I too have been cruising the dog training videos.
You and Bob are good and wholesome folks, and Milo senses that. Handsome lad, that dog! Best of luck with the progress. Since he is so timid, the moment he fully trusts you will be so rewarding and emotional.
Yes, it will be- I can see progress all the time so we are very much encouraged- thanks
What a handsome dog! He will settle in. So happy for you.
thank you
Thank you for caring and rescuing that sweet little guy. He will become more trusting as the days go by. Especially with you and your husband sweet and calm personality’s. I think your new family member is very very lucky you found him. Thank you for sharing and hang in there. I have a feeling it won’t take long before he’s camping with you. Take care
thanks Brenda- we are both hopeful
@@wendyoutdoors2230 My husband and I have two dogs and we are both in our 70 and 80s. It is still a challenge and one is 6 and one is 3. But we love them and they are our family. Even though the 3 year old just broke her foot. Another challenge (😂). That’s called life!! And dedication to providing all the care they need.
I just discovered your UA-cam channel. I'm a senior camper and kayaker, too. I enjoy your videos!! Welcome Milo! You are a lucky boy.
thank you very much for coming along- Hoping you find something here that works for you.
Oh wow 🎉congrats ! Best of luck with Milo- he’s been thru a lot so can understand why he’s nervous and anxious. Flight risk is scary. But you have taken the right precautions. I rescued a shelter dog in the past. It takes a lot of patience and time. Thank you for giving him a loving home.
thanks very much . Yes, time and patience for sure .
Congratulations on your new family owner! Thanks for introducing us to Milo. I hope he ends up being a great camping dog
we are hopeful Linda- thank you
Congratulations on your new family member. ❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
You have such a kind heart adopting Milo. He is gonna be so happy. 😊
We will have a happy family here. Thanks Lisa
What a sweet boy . He has found love with you and your husband for sure 🥰
and we are coming to love him right back ❤️

@@wendyoutdoors2230 :)
Time and patience! You got this!!
thank you
Awww!! Thank you, Wendy and Bob!❤ I hope Milo settles in and flourishes. He is a beautiful boy. Best to you all.👍😎🇨🇦🥰🩵💜💞
thanks very much Marian. He is coming along- entered week 3 and all is improving.
What a beautiful story. I would love to see more videos about his progress. I would love to see him camping with you!. Bless you Wendy. I love your channel. ❤
thanks so much Lynn- It is my hope that he will become a camping buddy before too long- Just taking our time.
I love him! Such a wonderful thing for you and Bob to do. He is going to be a great companion to the both of you. thank you for rescuing him.
He is already enriching our lives.
Brilliant! Hello Milo and thank you Wendy
appreciate hearing form you
Milo seems very strong and independent. He is his own boss. Once he feels secure and bonds completely, he will drop this characteristic and be super loving and relax more ❤
Well said- thanks
That's fantastic, hope he makes a great companion and camping buddy❤
Me too!
Oh how grateful and happy I am that you took him to you.🐕 God bless you both.🙏❤ He has such a nice, beautiful coat, but I hope he could put on just a little weight so he has a bit more resistance. I can see he's a bit nervous, I've even had a dog that had the same expression, but he'll probably calm down and find out he's in the care of safe, loving people❤❤❤ and will start to relax more and more. As you say, it takes some time and you can't rush it.
Also when he knows which territories are his will help. Preferably do not greet too many other dogs for some time for several reasons. He needs to know that at home in the family, the guide dogs are you and Bob. Which determines and provides peace and security. Thank you very much for you. I'm glad.😊. I also can't do without a dog, I've had it all my life and I'm now 63.
And it's good that you take a little break for the dog's sake. In any case, you don't have to worry about that, completely understandable and very responsible. Wishing you all the very best. Good luck with everything, and hearty congratulations to Milo, the dear lovable dog who is lucky to be in your safe hands🥰.
Many loving thoughts and greetings Liv Maria Denmark.😊😘❤🙏
