- Hi my name is Renee, a full time #vanlifer , working on my second year of vanlife living this lifestyle and wanted to be for years, a great deal of planning went into getting ready for it. With a lot of help along the way. Living a simple life with my cat Jake seemed a dream. The dream of this simple life and all my hopes that I have it all figured out. I don’t say this too loud as I still have much to figure out. We will give you a glimpse into van projects, nature, crafts, painting and so much more along this journey. I am always excited to learn a new skills. Showing you real life in its glory, the mistakes, the mishaps and adventures we plan to go on.
The Story Began Long Ago
I grew up in a small Alpine town of Revelstoke British Columbia, where I learned to appreciate the outdoors camping, hiking and camaraderie of that. Also spending over 12 years oversea working in humanitarian work has prepared me more than I can say. I am generally a creative soul who loves to express that in many forms, whether figuring life out for myself or helping someone along the way. These things drive me to live life as full as possible. Everyday is a chance to grow in some way. This human has much more to learn.
We live in a 2006 E-250 Ford extended box #van-conversion living space. This older van has over 360,000km on it. Still running strong.
Being a UA-cam creator does not come naturally for me but over time I soon will be good at it.
Please come along with me on our journey into the unknown, experiences I still have to learn.

I fry my hamburger, and then make a shepherds pie and lasagna in my lunchbox cooker. broke mine and ready to re-purchase cause I love it. 4 years with it ❤❤❤

@@beyouvanlife there’s lots of UA-cam videos. Italian spice, 3/or 5 cheeses . I like to keep it less the 2 inch deep . Gets warmer that way , 2 hrs then 6 hrs if it s too thick
I always put pb on both slices so the bananas don't slip out. Lol

Yes I own that lunch box. Always start with hot food and this will keep it warm. I’ve used it on road trips. Love it.

Interesting lunchbox thing, I like that yours has both AC & DC cords to power. For about 5 years I’ve been using a HotLogic Mini to slowcook or reheat food in a Pyrex pan. 3 years of that was just reheating already cooked meat or sausage, along with frozen veggies until I got brave enough to add in raw vegetables like broccoli or asparagus in with the precooked meats. Then this past 2 I’ve been slow cooking from raw boneless chicken thighs, pork chops & salmon. I love having a hot meal midday while traveling. #RestAreaDining

@@beyouvanlife oh, I did get one of those pokie needle meat thermometers to be sure the HLM got up to safe temps.
@karinhart489 I got a thermometer for temps as well. Cooking on a camp stove is not the same as in sticks and brick. Being a ex hospital kitchen helps. Food safe is my thing. Also having a compromised immune system I must be careful. Will definitely help when it comes to expiration with the warmer.🚐🐈⬛🇨🇦😊

I bought a similar thing at Goodwill for $5 I hope it works as good. I think it is mainly for sandwiches.
What a deal $5 the description on Amazon says heats up food. As long as it is precooked food it should be good to warm up. It will not cook food but I have heard of others trying it out for cooking food. I do plan on trying it out to see what it can do. Test the limits. 🚐🐈⬛😊🇨🇦

Have you looked at the Itaki electric bento boxes? You can steam rice while cooking in the lower chamber.

I travel with my cat too, but I don't go in the hot weather, I worry about her, how can I deal with keeping her from over heating....???
What is your set up? Do you have insulated walls, have a bulkhead insulated curtain, install fans, roof fan and ones that attach to the walls of your van. I don’t leave Jake alone for long. Errands are done in the early morning. If you work try to work night shift. Or if you can afford a portable eco flow air conditioner that will help cool your van if gets hot in summer.
I wondered about those food heaters. I've seen on videos that people cook meatloaf in them. Will you try it and let me know?

Aww your kitty looks just like my Jelly Bean. I’m hoping she’s going to adjust to van life but so far she hates car rides. I’ve got a week til I’m full time so fingers crossed she’ll get used to it.
Jake took a bit to fully say it alright. He complains when he can’t go outside, like it the cities. So probably 90% on board. Hope Jelly Bean adapts quickly. Vanlife is so much fun.

Love your videos or what i can cope with watching them .However no reflection on yourself but seeing lots of stuff just scattered around sends me over the top. im a little bit i need to keep this i need to keep that. However it all has to be out of sight out of mind because i just can't cope with clutter around me .I so wish at times i could be more like you 😕

Question. I noticed you came out of a fenced area. Do you own the property you live on in your van? I've wondered if that was legal. Please let me know.
Thanks for the question. I do stay on my daughter’s property in rural area on acreage. You always have look into local bylaws for the answer to your question. I can’t see cities allowing it. Hope that answers your question.

@deborah3709 You may not understand or seem interested in this gadget. I have a propane, a butane, and a isobutane stove. Yes I could pull them out and use them as well in 5 minutes. But you can’t leave them unattended, they produce gases into the air. I like to have options for different occasions. Solar is free as well. It saves money to use this device. If you still think it’s useless then, I am ok with that. I personally like this gadget and find it very useful. ❤️❤️❤️
